I enjoyed reading through this Jan and remembering the fifties too. We were more physical then, involved in dance and ice-skating or roller skating.  Not many folks had TV so you went out to be entertained in the local Palais.  Those were the days!  By jings I could still do a short jive....short one mind you!  Lol!  Jeanie

I really enjoyed reading this, Jan, as it gave me an insight of what your life was like as a child.  If I have my dates correct, you were a young child during the war.

I was a child of the 60's.  Mine was very similar.  Yes, we were all in the same boat.  There was a huge middle class in which we all grew up with making the best of what we had, and we did seem to have quite a bit; never wanting.  I also came home for lunch until the 8th grade.  Weren't we creative?  I remember making doll furniture out of shoe boxes, scraps of fabric and old buttons.  Our children don't know what they missed.  Love xx Chris
