Hi Folks ,Late entry..........Maurices friend came over this morning,Showing me lots of lovely skills.... that I had no idea about , you could say it was a computer lesson,John gave the lesson wether his pupil managed to take it on board ,remains to be seen,Maurice was home in bed after working six nights ,and he got up before John left,they chatted for a while....after John left,we went into Huntingdon ,where we bought a new mouse because John said ours was tired and didnt always click ,but guess what ,I have new desk as well !a lovely new Pine one that goes with the rest of our furniture...I am so excited its flat pack and its still in the car and the man who is to put it together has fallen asleep on the couch ! Ah well ,once I've done this entry I will make him a nice dinner and wake him up and then chat him up, to start assembling it.
Did you see on the welcome page AOL is running a silver surfers week ...and I'm sure you all know by now they, asked me if they could feature my journal,highly honoured to be asked ,I accepted .I have been ,between being on cloud nine and becoming a butterfly breeder (in my tum ),with all sorts of ideas,flitting in and out of my brain ...all excited to see what was happening ,I went on line this morning to find Joanna Lumleys picture ,then Jaquline Bisset and Honor Blackman ,and pause to swoon ......Sean Connery ,Jeremy Irons and Harrison Ford .Hey this gets better, I am in exallated company arent I ?We are all categorised,now as silver surfers .Well done ! AOL no one has ever found a category to fit me into before !
Now about all the ideas I have ....because I have been out today ,and am later than I would normally be doing an ,entry,I am going to start in ernest tomorrow ,thats another joy about getting older ,your decisions are always the right ones !if I put my ideas into practise tonight I wouldnt do it justice ,I told you all aboutwork a couple of weeks ago,in an entry entitled "Another day another Dollop" then the following day I told you about the party we had when I retired ,so tomorrow I will tell you how I felt ,when I retired and found AOL journals/blogs which saved my sanity !

Hi mum, how you doing? I don't know how to get onto the AOL page to read about you, not sure if it's just your page that i can read that is on show or not. Hiya........hope you took some of it in at least!!! I need a new mouse, mine is a little slow now and I think it needs to retire in favour of a younger optical mouse, think it is knackered through working too hard, lol!!!
Congratulations on being chosen to be a silver surfer. Great entry today all newsy the way we like it. I think its about time I got a new desk but will have to wait what with the new windows plumbers and Stuart is getting to see a dentist at last but has to have it all done private before he can get on the plan that I have. Congratulations Jan. I saw something about the Silver Surfers this morning but didn't have time to read it. Now AOL have lost the proper Welcome Screen, so I can't look, hopefully they will sort it out soon.

My mouse is a bit knackered like me!! When I saw the pic of Joanna Lumley today I thought it was you, I was thinking.....ooh, our Jan scrubs up well!! It looks like AOL have given us a new Welcome Page now, it suddenly appeared this afternoon and doesn't give as much info as the old one! It hasn't even got the Blogs on it!! That's progress for you! Well done Jan. Joanna and Sean should be honoured to have you in their company..."Silver surfer". Glad you had bought a new mouse. I was given a wireless one for Christmas but quickly switched back to my old one as it was too big and chunky. Hope your new desk is now assembled and you are happy.

I could certainly use a lesson or two with the computer. My daughter tries but gets very frustrated with me. LOL...I'm supposing since I'm 52 I would be considered a silver surfer. Thank heavens for Lady Clairol. I have to go check the welcome page because I didn't notice it but your journal is certainly a well deserved journal to feature. Congrats on the new desk, hope it doesn't end up as cluttered as mine :-( Don't want to seem boastful, but I put together my own (two tier) computer desk, but it wasn't without its mishaps =:-O

Are you posting a picture of your new desk? I'd love to see it. I got a new one a wee while ago....my other one was too small. This one's a bit big so it'll be getting moved into the spare room eventually. Like you, I'll have to sweet-talk hubby into doing it!!
