Jan's afternoon out !

This graphic is one I found on offer this morning,Donna has been busy again ,go to my side bar and visit her ,she does the most amazing graphics,in fact instead of getting on with my entry today I've been looking at the above and marvelling on how she does it .

Well I know your dying to know how it went, yesterday !Well I got my self all ready ,I'd done Maurices pack up ,he was working the last of three nights ,didnt know how long I'd be .So off I went and knocked on Bettys door,We set off to be met at the end off the road ,another lady joined us,the transport arrived and off we went ,the short journey was pleasant the bushes either side the roads, were laden with spring blossom ,and the fields of rape were singing out that vibrant yellow ,we arrived at the 'Forty Foot'village hall ,so named because the village is built beside the drain of that name ,(must research this )Betty took me in and introduced me to the lady who appeared to be in charge ,very nice lady with slight Scottish accent .Betty went and sat with her friends I went and joined a lady ,who I'd smiled at in the shop a couple of times ! Cum ere  mate ! sit wiv us ! wots yer name ? I'm Shirley shes ,May and thats Nancy ,you'll be aw right wiv us ,we ave a laff we do ..not like sum o them old uns ... they ave some good stuff on ere tho.... cause some on its borin ..there was this bloke what wos talkin about Russia ooh ee went on ..the only good thing cum outer Russias the vodka !!.....then ther were this woman who adda arp ,she played it luvly

The chair person lady came over to me asked a few details like my birthday .abit about me ,and then ,would I like to join the committee!  we ell yes? And so the meeting began, there must have been about fifty elderly ladies and about six men,,and now ME ! The chairperson lady was on the stage ,wishing happy birthday to three ladies ,we all clapped ,she announcedthe deaths of two members !!!She then welcomed the new member ..moi!

And the entertainment for this afternoon is .....BINGO !Well if you.ve ever been a manager of an Elderly persons complex and had to call as many games off Tuddy bingo as I have ,you would know how much I hate bingo ,theres only one thing I hate more than bingo, and that is sticking pins in my eyes ,never mind some folk like it ,so off we go May won a box of tea bags ,Im pleased I didnt ,I only drink coffee, and Maurice didnt deserve a present ,for all his wise cracks ,,,teabags ! Pah

The afternoon redeemed it self ,then as little sandwiches as befitting a nice little afternoon tea,a home made sausage roll and a fairy cake ,with a cup of coffee,Then the treasurer/outings secretary arrived at our table collected up our pounds and asked would I like to join them on a trip to Oakham,in Lincolnshire,so I duly paid up ten pounds fifty for the trip and a cream tea ,on May 18th,and then would I like to go on the mystry trip in June ?Oh yes please .......So all in all it turned out not too bad ..I got chatting to one or two ladies and told them I'm interested in local History of the area ,and was promised some photographs to copy, some suggestions were made of places to visit ,so yes I shall go again and apparently they dont often play bingo... Hmm... some sort of initiation ceremony I wonder .........Have a lovely day everyone the sun is shining and its warm out at last .     Love from Jan xx

Funny how they always seem to think older people like bingo!!!! I've never played it in my life and don't intend to! Glad it had other bits of interest for you though. Sorry you didn't win some teabags!!!! Are you taking photos of your outings with them, we want to see where you go! Jeannette xx

That was really funny Jan, I can just imagine your face when it was Bingo.  It was maybe one of these difficult dates to fill in the clubs calendar we found that this happened now and again and it was bingo or a beetle drive remember that one. Love Joan.

I can reveal all: The mystery trip is to a marathon bingo session in darkest Ely. Now won't that be fun, lol.
I like Shirley already, she sands like she cums from rand 'ere.

Hi there,

Sorry about the 'bingo,' I am one of those that hates the game.

I am not sure if your trip is to Oakham Hall but if it is you are in for a treat.

By for now, John.

lovely interesting entry Jan, so funny, can't imagine you calling out 'two little ducks' or 'key of the door 21' at bingo. The time I went was on a beach front arcade and I was asked to pick a prize, but didn't realise you had to have more than one win for the things I liked!

Hi Jan!    Had to laugh at your afternoon out!  We have what they call the RED HAT ladies club around here, for 50 and older. They have just recently added the Pink Hats for the 40 to 50 age group.  The RED HATTERS wear a lot of purple and red. They go out to eat and movies and stuff once a month.  And a big trip every so often.  I tell you I've been tempted, but I always chicken out.  First off..I don't want to be old, and it has to be a FUN group, not just an OLD group! But it's only $15 a year to join.  The business groups are $300 or more a year to join.  The first lady that asked me to join lives in Kentucky...her group sounded like fun, but too far. I'm not real sure about the Boonville/Newburgh group.  Oh my! I hope it's not BINGO!

Maurice shouldn't make wise cracks! What's the difference in that or him going to have a pint with his mates!!!  LOL  Did I say all that right???  :)

Take Care  and  Thanks for all the crossed stuff!!  :)
Darlene
