Not too sure about God Bless America. With a president like Bush, they probably need more help than that. I, too live in the Fens, and have done for 51 years, and I am struggling to find them interesting at the moment. Do you have this problem?Keith.

Thank you Jan for the tribute to our country. Thank you also for sending a link to us so we can see your picture on the welcome screen. You look very pretty adorning it. Congratulations once again. I have met several of you journalist from your country and have enjoyed meeting all of you and hearing and seeing pictures of your way of life and like you said we seem a lot alike. I just wish I could hear your voices. May God bless each one of you. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Helen

Oh, Jan, how so very sweet and lovely that you used one of my tags for our USA Memorial Day!  Does the UK have any version of that where you honor your veterans?  Thanks for the link.  I was wondering why I couldn't find it.  I think the US version of journals should have your silver surfer's up there also.  They don't.  That's just not right because we all share in the J-Land experience.  HUGS  Chris

Thank you Jan.  I'm proud to consider you one of my journal friends.  And wow, now I can say I know another famous person...with your journal featured on the U.K.'s AOL opening page.  As we here in the U.S. consider Memorial Day, we need to remember all the men & women who have given the supreme sacrifice so that the rest of us can live in peace.  To think that there are still people in our world who do not enjoy the freedoms that we enjoy, is very sad.  Those in the free world even have the freedom to bash those in leadership positions....not so in some countries.  God Bless Us All !!   Linda in Washington state

Hi Jan,

Just wanted to say thank you for your kind email this afternoon! What a wonderful community this is. I've taken my first tentative steps in writing my own personal blog and even managed to post a graphic.

Thank you once again

I love Chris's graphic. Why don't we celebrate Memorial Day? I know we have our Poppy Day but the US also have a holiday on November 11th for that and we don't! Jeannette xx

Thank you, Jan, for the lovely sentiment.  Memorial Day will be special here as my husband and father celebrate together at a special ceremony before the Angel baseball game Monday night. There will be special music and probably a fly over by the U.S. Air Force  F-15's.  It's really something to see!  God Bless all the British who gave their lives, too.  Kathy
