Remembering

A lovely sunny morning here and I hope it is where you are too,Maurice is in bed asleep ,after working last night ,yesterday because I knew there was nothing on the box, after casualty last night. I took out a DVD  to watch, but once Maurice had gone last evening,as requested for addition to the tenants news letter . I did the account of me being selected  by AOL blog of the week ,representing Silver surfers ,I attached it to an email and sent it on its way, another successful mission accomplished ,I learned the piece I sent of about the energy Effiencency day ,was to go to the printers as is without any  pruning. So then after casualty I settled down to watch my DVD ....Mrs Henderson ,maybe some of you have seen it ,if not I recommend it..Dame Judi Dench plays the part of the delightfully eccentric Mrs Henderson, who on the death of her husband was advised by her friend ,played by Thelma Barlow ,Mavis from Coronation street , that she was now able to spend money without any one telling her not too,she goes on to buy a London theatre in Windmill street ,called it the Windmill ,'because it was easier for taxi drivers to find'!She hired Vivien Van Damm to manage the theatre ,he was played very ably by Bob Hoskins, and though at first I wondered what Will Young was doing there ,he too played a good part ,The film was set at the time of the on set of the war (WW2)and went on to explain why the Windmill theatre never closed...The film also awoke a memory ...when I first left school I worked with a beautiful lady who used to amuse us with storys of when she was young ,worked at the windmill theatre,oh such tales she told ...me a very impressionable fifteen year old ,and her all of thirtyfive ! but she held the junior members of staff spellbound with her storys.....Sigh !

I hope you all have a lovely Sunday ..With Love Jan xx

Hi Jan, I'll look out for the DVD, I love Judi Dench, she's a great actress. It's sunny here, not everso warm because of sea breezes but at least the sun's here! Well done for getting all your work sorted before settling down to watch the film! I've just got my floor tiles, decided I can lay them as I can sit on the floor to do them! Have a lovely day! I love Dame Judi Dench!  She is one of my favorite actors!  Haven't seen that movie yet, though.

Is that a Thomas Kincaid painting?  If it isn't, it sure does remind me of his style!  Love the graphic!

Happy weekend to you!

I agree it is a fantastic film and Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins are fantastic. What about Will Yoiung's cameo appearance! I saw it at cinema when it first came out and I reckon it is a number one film. love conniex
