Flaming June

June 1st ,and its raining ,again ! a lovely day yesterday and now here we are back to normal ! Idid loads yesterday ,well you do when the sun shines dont you ?....Did you say Rabbits this morning ?and what about the old addage 'Ne'er cast a clout till Mays out '?   Well the May blossom is well and truly out and now so is the month of May......My summer skirts ,dress's and tops are still in the suit case where they spend the winter ,when the summer comes they change places with my winter gear, which I'm getting fed up wearing. On the bright side, I suppose the plants I put in yesterday are getting a drink to help them settle in .....and then all the washing I did yesterday ,what better day to do the ironing ?tomorrow might be even better ! Well judging by yesterdays entry and comments there seems to be alot of foxes about ,says she changing the subject quickly !

Last night on BBC1,we watched; One Life ~A documentary following model and TV presenter Gail Porter,as she as she comes to terms with the fact that, having been afflicted with alopecia, she may be bald for the rest of her life ,she obviously had bad days ,but her bubbly personality was a joy to watch ,she has a dear little girl called Honey, and she is quite comfortable being bald rather than wear a wig ,though she was shown having lots of fun with another young woman as they tried on lots of lovely wigs in many styles ,so the next time I'm having a bad hair day I think I'm going to think again !............Shh Ithink its stopped raining !!                               Have a good day everyone with love

Thanks Chris for this lovely one xx And to Roxy for the Thursday one xx

But what are the clouts that we mustn't cast? As fas as I know a clout is a type of nail, got some in my new shed. Right, if it's stopped raining I suppose I'd best go and cut my bushes. B. x

Hi Jan,  I always keep my winter and summer wardrobe together these days. We never seem to have good enough weather for long enough to change completely. I`ve still got the winter quilt on the bed, I`ve usually changed to the summer one at the beginning of May! We`re really cold today and what with Jim being poorly an` all I put the heating on every few hours.  Can it really be June or are we all just a bit confused...lol!  Global warming ?  Bah!!!    :o)

I change my clothes from my closet to the one in the guest room back and forth. We don't have any overnight guest anyway to use it. I have been is shorts a while now with these 90ºs weather we have been having lately. We are hopeing for some showers today and tomorrow to help cool things a bit. Helen

The only time I ever get to wear summer clothes is if we go away on holiday....which isn't often!
I've got an ironing too, yuck!....but I'm still poorly so it can wait.
Hope the sun's shining for you now.

After I went to the vets today I was so cold I came home and went to bed for a couple of hours!! I've got the heating on still! Yeah, do the ironing tomorrow! Jeannette xx

Hi, been reading your journal since it was posted on the AOL welcome page last week. I have enjoyed it very much. Reading todays made me think how lucky we have been here in sunny Devon, it hasn't rained since last Saturday and we have been in the garden today, it has been really hot, hubby in shorts!! I will send you some of our sunshine for you to enjoy.

I've watched Gail Porter on one of the morning programs, when she has spoken about her condition alopecia. She is such a lovely out going young lady and so bubbly...

It's been cold, windy and drizzly here. I usually like June, but this is so dismal!  We must have some sunshine soon......I agree with you about the hair, at least we have some!

Gail Porter is lucky in that she has a delicate pretty face that suits being bald...Kerry had a touch of alopecia for a while about 4 or 5 years ago :o(  It was only on her crown but she had a rather large thinning/bld patch there...HErs did grow back after about 3 years but it's still not quite right underneath...There's enough hair regrown for no-one to notice though...At the time it meant she kept her hair long and tied up in a ponytail for a while to sit on top of the bald spot...After a few months she decided sod it though and left her hair down...there was quite a few at her school tried to bully her about it but she decided they were the ones with the problem and not her...I don't think i could cope if i ever had the condition     Caff xxxxx

Hi Jan, firstly, thanks for your comments on my journal.I still prefer dad's first book, it was more of his life .
I missed the program on Gail Porter, hope they repeat it as I think she has coped wonderfully with her aloplecia? and from what I have seen, she is a great mum.I won't complain about my bad hair days now.

I know this might sound 'weird', but when I was going through chemotherapy, and lost all my hair, I actually enjoyed wearing a wig.  No fuss.  No muss.  It was all so easy.  Maybe it was just me, trying to take a horrible experience and having fun with the 'wig' aspect of it.  Alopecia is a whole different thing, because there is that chance you will never have your own hair back again.  With chemo... once it's over, you generally grow back some really healthy hair.  My hair tends to be more on the straight side, but when it first grew back after chemo, it came back curly!!  It was so funny!  I had all these curls!
It's back to being straight now, though..

Hugs,
Jackie

We had 90 degree weather; then the rain started again.  Tonight the sun is shining but it is very chilly.  I'm certainly hoping a frost isn't in the air overnight.  Hugs  Chris
