Good afternoon ,on this longest day of the year ,The Midsummer soltice ,so that means the nights will begin to get dark a little bit earlier each night ,so tell me where has this year gone ?Is it really six months since Christmas ?when Iwas reading all your lovely journals and was so envoius of those of you putting lovely graphics on them !I made it my new year resolution to learn to do it myself .....and as its six months since Christmas ,it is also six months till the next one ...Ouch
Well England drew last night ,I dont know ,why I'm telling you this, because those of you that enjoy football ,already know ! I am looking forward to watching a programme tonight that is part of a series of four, the second part tonight is on BBC2 at nine o clock .Four women suffering a variety of personal crises leave their everyday excistence behind ,to live as nuns at the conventof the Poor Clares in Arundel, they give up material possessions and normal routines for fourty days and nights,in a bid to learn whether the traditional values and practises of the sisterhood including seven services a day,can help them find a purpose to their existance, some of them struggled with the regime but some took to it straight away,The nuns themselves made some interesting observations too ,'different shoes with each outfit' ! so its certainly a two way experiance ........Have a good day everyone ,With Love
Jan xx

Jan where has this year gone ~ half way through already ~ six months to Christmas ~ now that is scary ~ don't think I would like to live as a Nun albiet for only 40 days and 40 nights but I hope those women find a purpose to their exsistance ~ Love your pictures and the Cardie ~ glad you made your New Years resolution and taught yourself to put Graphics etc in your journal ~ Ally
I loved all your pictures.... looks like I will have to get out the brass polish because your brass looks so nice and shinny. I have some poppies in bloom just like yours and also have some purple clematis and honey suckle vine but I love the way you have yours .... wish I had a summer house :) Hope you have a wonderful summer and Christmas doesn't come too fast. Sandra

All your flowers are so pretty. I love the guitar and your brass pieces look so shiny. Yes, time has really flown since last Christmas. It is hard to believe that half the year is already gone. Helen
I'm a lonely little petunia - I remember that song. My gran used to sing it to me ;o)
Okay, it was my sister. And now I've got it on a cd somewhere, how sad is that? Lol. B. x
You get so many seeds with poppies we all get some. The year is going so quickly don't like when summer hurries by. Watched the start of the of Poor Clares in Arundel last week if the series is as good as the one last year with the monks it will be well worthy watching. Love Joan. You cardy is great you are clever.
Hi Jan, I enjoyed your pics and I love that guitar! The way you laid out your cardi on that chair tickled me, thought you'd been on a diet! lol I didn't remember it was midsummers day! How quick has that gone! Loved your birdies Lindaxx
Hi Jan, What a lovely garden you have. I love the way the Clematis grows across the summerhouse, it looks smashing! I certainly do remember the Lonely Little Petunia, I wonder how it got into an onion patch...? lol! Ugh...Christmas in only 6 mths, it doesn`t bear thinking about! :o)

Argh! Christmas, don't mention Christmas! It's too soon after the last one! I love all the pics, you'll need the cardigan on soon if it gets any colder! The poppies are gorgeous and I love clematis and honeysuckle. Hope you enjoyed the second part of the programme tonight. Jeannette xx
I cannot believe the year is 1/2 over. It scares me to think about how fast time flies by these days. I feel like we just take down the Christmas decorations and it's time to drag them out again. Enjoy your TV program tonight. I don't know what I'll be watching - most likely a baseball game. Kathy
I also wonder where time flies to. Yes, it's all downhill from now on with daylight and nice weather...grrr Before we know it the snow will be flying here. Hugs Chris
Oh Jan, I love your clematis. I've never had one anywhere I've lived but I always admire them when I see them in other peoples yards. There's a mon here locally that has a huge one, so huge the newspaper ran an article on it a few years back. He pours a cup of coffee at the base of it every day and he claims that's how it got so huge. Also love that little violin figurine, is it made from marble or alabaster? Linda in WA
Jan. . you have a summer house. . Im envious! Nice photos. . arent you creative making lots of things.
Your journal is beautiful and interesting but I have to scroll so much to read it all. Does everyone have that trouble? Paula
Lovely photos Jan - what a lovely garden! I missed the show about the Convent unfortunately. I might try and catch the next episode,
Kate.
