Definitely,Autumn this morning as I waited for the bus at seven thirty ugh...at least by then it had stopped raining.Chatted to my new friend again on the journey.I finally arrived and called everyone ,all fine .Off I went to visit as many as possible, see them settled before the weekend,I told you what a lovely place it is ,as I was walking down one of the corridors I was over looking the grounds in amongst the trees I spotted some busy squirrels and a lone magpie who I greeted with ~"Good morning Mr Magpie ,hows the wife and children today?",I spied some bunnies too.Jeannette suggested the residents had some tales to tell, one dear old gentleman, upset me abit this morning ,he said he hadnt slept very well last night, hed had a nightmare, he then went on to tell me he was in Burma, in the war , and had been captured by the"Japs"poor old soldier, and to think he is still suffering.

I had some time to kill before my bus home ,so I did some shopping, there was a farmers market, and on a recommendation from one of the residents I bought some ostrich burgers, low in fat she tells me !Im 9stone10,Maurice isnt much more still they might be nice ,Ill let you know!!has anyone else tried them ??Well I guess thats it folks ,The weekend starts here have a good one                With Love Jan  XX

Poor old gentleman.  I do think that something like that never leaves you, the starvation, the heat, the brutality, seeing your mates die.  How could you mind ever erase something like that.  Bless him, we owe him a great debt.  Never had Ostrich burgers. To be honest, not too sure I like the sound of them. I prefer to see Ostriches running free in Africa but then on the other hand, I do eat meat.  Still waiting to see if our one squirrel will come back this Autumn. Lol at the Magpie I do the same thing, supposed to be lucky!

My Dad was in Burma and though he was lucky enough not to be captured, some of his men were.  He told me stories that terrified me.  I have never forgotten them and I can see why that poor old gentleman still has nightmares.  Do let us know about the ostrich burgers. There is an ostrich farm near to where my brother lives....I didn`t realise why...I think I do now!!! :-)

Don't like the sound of ostrich burgers! I'm not a big meat eater, I like chicken and turkey though. That poor man still suffering with nightmares, it must have been horrific for him. Enjoy your weekend too! Jeannette.
