Brrr it's still Autumn !

The above graphic was made by Missie ,who rightly said how proud of it she is, having won a competion with it ,

As it has been so cold and damp here, I havent ventured far the last few days ,we had no snow ,well none that settled ,the winds have been strong ,and did I say its been cold brrr ?I havent been idle though , just completed another quillow,it is for my Granddaughter Charlotte's Christmas present ,and I have started yet another one also a present ,and I have knitted the back and a sleeve and a half of a cardigan ,also a present ,back to good old fashioned Christmas ,home made presents ,made with love !
Maurice is at work today ,the last of six ,he will be off for three days,so we may be busy , and find somewhere to go .Then on Saturday ,when Maurice goes back to work ,Chrissie my daughter in law ,my Daughter Kate ,sister Jean and I are going to my late Husband's, sister in laws Eightieth Birthday party ,Her Husband Aubrey died last year ,but her daughters who are giving her the party said Dad would have wanted her to have a party ,so it will be nice to see everyone again ,I did venture out to the co op ,which is just down the road ,yesterday and bought a couple of books in there ,a Tess Gerritson that I hadnt read and an Ian Rankin they were £1.99 each not bad ?as well as whatever else it was I had run out of !As I said to my Kate when she rang yesterday, life revolves round the 'computer ,the telephone, the sewing macine, the TV and the cooker ,probably in that order hee hee ....poor hoover and ironing board ! '.....Any way to continue the theme started on my journal I am posting some pictures I took of Lavender Blues latest window display ,

Ah well better get back to the sewing machine ! Have a good day everyone and keep warm ,With love from,

Hi Jan hope you had no bother posting today looks great. I spent last night trying to put photo's in via Photobucket have been having problems but think I have it licked now in my trials journal I find it great as it does not matter if make a mistake as nobody gets alerted about it. Still very cold here today we were out yesterday but Stu suffered with the cold air in his chest. Hope it warms up soon. Love Joan.

Hello Jan, I wish I had your creative streak, I seem to spend most of my time destroying things! Which, in it's way can be quite satisfying. I like Tess Gerritsen, especially her later forensic novels.

What's an ironing board? Lol!
I remember there was such a gadget as a vacuum too. Are you still using it???
What super photos today Jan..I love your Lanvender Blue shop front window piccy's.
As for your creative streak? I admire your dexterity and determination to complete them I have, I kid you not, three lots of unfinished knitting which Bryan brought down from the attic...they must have been ther for years! Want to help me out? hahahahaha!
I am still trying to work out how to do everything on Blogger..it is taking my old brain ages! You have done so well. Keep up the good work my friend.
Hugs
Jeanie xxxx

Hi Jan! I've just finished a Tess Gerritsen and it was unputdownable. It's the only one of hers I've read but I'm looking out for more.

My ironing board has about the same household position as yours - and it needn't think I shall take pity if it throws itself in the rubbish skip!

Hope you're keeping well.
love, Angie, xx

I wish I could still knit Jan, I used to love it so but my neck and shoulder will not allow now after having three operations on my left upper side. Only a few minutes and I cannot continue. I use to knit myself nice woolly hats and scarfs and jumpers for all the family. That window display is so pretty. Only a month to go until Christmas now, seems unbelievable.

I think homemade gifts are the best to get. I wish I had some knitting or crocheting talents. It's so cold here also. I absolutely hate winter. Lavender Blue looks so pretty! You know I look forward to the new displays. love xx

The window display is as good as ever, the window dresser must be a very talented person! Have fun on Saturday at the birthday party, wish her a very happy birthday from me (sorry, you didnt put her name!). I think you have your priorities about right in your list! Lol! The hoover and ironing board don't deserve a place! Stay warm! Jeannette xx

Jan
How nice that you are so talented with the sewing and kniting. I like the thought of getting back to the good old fashioned Christmas with gifts made with love. I also like the Holiday displays at Lavender Blue that you share with us every year. This is such a neat little shop. Congrats on the good deals on the books and enjoy Maurice's time off, I'm glad you will get to spend it together.

Jan, I love the latest windows from Lavender! I'm a real gingerbread freak! I collect them like crazy, so it's probably a good thing it's not near me as I'd probably break the bank! I'm glad to hear you are still making quillows. Aren't they wonderful gifts! It's been very cold here as well. Looks like an early winter this year! XXOO

I've become addicted to Lavendar Blue! It's tradition with you now. I love when you take pics of the windows and show us! Thanks for doing it Jan.
I think homemade gifts are the BEST! I think I would feel very lucky to receive one of your gifts. I hope your family enjoys them all. You are very talented and you are giving them with lots of love.
Have a good week!
Love, Pam

Hi Jan, We were in Kent at the weekend and it was bitterly cold, we had a little snow and then freezing, and I mean freezing, rain. I do hate the damp weather it gets right into my poor old bones...lol! Lavender Blue looks as good as ever, it seems that we all know it and expect to see photos of it`s window displays. :o)

My husband has just told me that if you look at the computer a lot everyday it alters your brain so that you find it hard to concentrate to read a book. Reckons he heard it on the radio. And i just thought i was suffering from old age.
