Mad dogs and English men go out in the midday sun !

Jeannette (travels sent me this picture) and the above pictures are the real Scooby .....Who, is not enjoying this heat wave at all ,hence the saying dog days! He is lieing in the hall hoping to get a draught ,except there isnt one, there is a fan on and that is creating a bit of breeze, hes certainly not in the sun  ,I have bought some door beads too ,as the flys even are slow and lazy ,and they just stroll over you as you sit and type UGH .The pictures above are not taken in the midday sun as Maurices colour suggests, and any way he's an Irish man so I dont know whether the above title applys lol ....And what do mad English women do ?well you know I'm whappy ! so before the sun comes round to the lounge window ,door beads up, fan blowing ,I have done my ironing! yes all of it ,and dont you have alot this weather ,keep changeing dont we ?Lots of skirts and tee shirts ! and the lovely crisp white work shirts look so much better on hangers after ironing ,than folded up in the basket waiting, Oh I am a hero ! Sorry to go on ,but I feel so good about it lol .Actually I am going to see Jean tomorrow to spend the afternoon with her ,then Maurice will come after work and then if we are lucky they will feed us lol ...so I am in effect clearing the decks before I have a day out, So folks ,I will save you anymore of my waffling ,have a good day and keep cool

Hi Jan,  I think the real Scooby looks more handsome than the one asleep in the hammock, I`m sure he wouldn`t be seen dead in a straw hat...lol!  Jake`s lying around on the cool ceramic kitchen tiles as he finds that preferable to the heat of the day.  I wonder why they call them Dog Days?  Jim`s on a fishing boat somewhere in the English Channel so he`s definitely a mad Englishman alright...lol!  Have a lovely day. :o)

English man or not he looks like he has a bit of a burn. Hope it wasn't too painful. I just hang my clothes up when they come out of the dryer and iron them as we wear them as the closet seems to wrinkle them anyway.... I used to do it your way but I guess I have to get rid of some clothes before I can do that again. Sometimes I don't have to iron them at all though. The material these days is so much nicer than it used to be. :) Hope you have a good visit today, Sandra

Glad you got all your ironing done ok. Can you come and do mine for me please please. I can't stand this heat. The boys and Martin are fine but Maddie and I are really suffering. She has been going to work with one of the security guards at Martin's work at night cos she can have walkies and keep cool in the night. Been for physio and accupunture today. Feel awful now. Speak to you soon. Love you so much. Have a lovely time at Auntie Jean's tomorrow. PS: Can we all come for tea - she serves a wicked pizza! ! LOL

So, you all are having a heat wave over in England too?  Wow.  Sounds like the whole world is burning to a crisp!  We are in the tripe digits here... 104 to 110 degrees.  I hate it!  I do not do heat well!

Hope we all get some relief from this heat!

I do my ironing at the kitchen door which is open and it does help a bit.  We had a breeze yesterday but it was gone by evening. Today is supposed to be hotter even up here. LOve Joan.

Nice lady you can waffle all you want to what ever that means. We eat waffles here. lol The picture of the dog is so cute. You sure are fast with your ironing. People here don't iron as much as they did in years past. Just put them in the dryer and then hang them right away. Paula

Any woman who would iron on a hot day deserves to be taken to a fine restaurant for dinner.  It's going above and beyond the call of duty!  I love the pup pics.  Beautiful breed!

Our dogs are really suffering as well so we are hosing them down in the garden or rather Mike is in the mornings and again during the afternoon.  We have door beads up as well and they do give the impression it is cooler because they do move in what air there is.  Plus the fans.  Oh for air conditioning.  Have a good time with Jean.

Hi Jan!  Eeek my computer is so slow today!  You are the first one I've come to and now all my time is gone!  Your real pictures never has come in....so I'll have to come back later to see them.  It's time to get ready to go watch the kids.  Anyhow....just wanted to tell you....they make these wonderful fabrics now that if you get them out of the dryer at just the right time.....you don't have to iron!!!  I only have a couple things that need ironing...and they never get worn!  LOL  I remember watching my Mom iron on a hot summer day with no airconditioning and drinking salt water to keep cool.

My friend Jill has two of those dogs. One older one and one about half grown.  The puppy has to lay on top of the older one, not next to but on top.  He looks up at Jill like "why did you do this to me?" Then he'll take so much then snap at young whippersnapper!

Glad you had a good day out!

Hi Aunty Jan. I had to comment on your gorgeous dog. He is adorable. My Springer Alfie doesn't like the heat at all either but the Chinese Crested lies out in it all day on his back with his legs in the air and then insists on lying under the duvet at night. Lol....hugs Charline xxx

My Grizzly as miserable the day the AC wouldn't work.  He is used to it.  He was laying on the ceramic tile panting.  I have a fly problem.  Might have to buy one of those fly strips.  xxx  Chris
