Still no Rain!

Yet another hot day ! Some rain and storms had been forecast for Thursday ,but said the weather man, there may be some gaps ,I can only assume we live in a gap! because the rain passed us by yet again ,Maurice said they had a downpour in Peterborough ,last night ,but nothing here in our gap ! I watered the garden last evening and that will need to be my job when I have finished this entry.

Quite an exciting morning ,first the postman delivered my postcard from Linda in Washington ...a picture of Tacoma Washington ,the old train depot,Union Station, and the Tacoma Dome with Mt Rainier towering in the distance ,Thankyou Linda ,this is fun ,and also the chair I ordered,on line on Monday arrived ,it is green to match the room ,not quite as green as it looks in the picture ,it tucks away under the desk when computer not in use ,is comfortable, and much neater .Well when Maurice comes home tomorrow morning he will be off for six days ,so we will be going out some of that time .I will of course let you know..Well it cant be put off any longer I must stop now and water the garden ! Have a restful night everyone ,with love

Sometimes it's better to be up north, Jan - we had our hottest day today, 25C. And no worries about water, as you know. Have a nice couple of days!

I jut read in our local paper that England is being hit with extremely hot temps this summer...well in the 90's.  I feel for you because it also stated that most places don't have air conditioning because it hasn't been needed.  Hope you get some rain to cool you off.  Chris

Wow Jan that was quick.  I just mailed them last Friday (July 14th) Didn't we figure it would take several weeks?  Well, the others over there should be getting theirs soon, hopefully.   Linda in WA

Hi Jan, we did have a downpour last night, but I think the heat is getting to us all, my laptop seems to be misbehaving and have had a job to add to journals, is it possible my son has downloaded too much music? It takes ages for me to reply to my fav. journals.

Hi again Jan, I just can't sleep in this heat, even though we have a fan next to the bed, after rescuing it from the stables earlier...I can't cope with hot muggy nights! So after all the trouble trying to reply to journals earlier, it seems possible this time in the morning! My sleep pattern has gone to pot, and I don't think I am the only one...Thank you for your comments on my journal earlier, you are a star!

Hi Jan ,I like your new green chair.I know what you mean about watering to keep the plants alive ,must say some are looking a bit sad.Its  alright watering but not the same a good drink of rain water to revive them again.Enjoy your time with Maurice on his days off.Love the dogs sunbathing with their wagging tails......Love Jeanxx

Hi aunty Jan. I have been over to Leighs and left a message for him. Thanks for sharing his addy. Love your new chair, it looks good. We haven't had any rain here in Hereford either and I have been watering away but the plants are still droopy. Pagan made fat balls for the birds in Rainbows and they have melted and dripped everywhere in the heat.
