Out for the day

Nice one Donna,Maurice has gone fishing this morning ,and this is just how I imagine the lake he has gone too would look early today ,though the sun is shining now ,after a dull start ,we heard the thunder in the distance last night, but it passed us by ,so we ended up watering again !

We went to Peterborough yesterday, first ,to see Catherine and take the boys a football mug each, then on to the market, bought some salad stuff ,drooled over the material stall (remember my skirts last year ?)well there is a limit to how many skirts ,I think ?..So resisted !  this time lol Then popped into the pound shop Maurice was intrigued he hadnt been into one before ,bought a couple of useful bits ,

We then went to see Aunty Kitty who was pleased to see us ,she sat with a crochet shawl round her shoulders  next to a fan blowing right on to her,and said she was cold ,after Maurice adjusted it she was alot happier   I asked could  I take her picture ?not sure she understood ,said what must I do , just smile says I ! Which prompted us to sing 'When Irish eyes are smiling ',she cant always remember our names but she remembered the old songs ,as did some of the other residents proving again how useful reminiscance therapy is , we all had a little sing song until the tea trolley arrived ,a good time for us to make our exit .

I didnt go fishing  with Maurice , because its the over sixties club today ,and a lady called Ina rang up last week to see if I would help with the tea ,its nice if the younger ones do it she says ....Oo I like that !This is only my third visit ,and they have already found a use for me ! it will be fun .Tomorrow we are off to Oakham,do you remember I got it muddled with the mystery trip ,so busy times ahead .....

Maurice is back to work tomorrow and hasnt got a shirt thats been ironed,oh they have all been washed thats the easy part ,havent felt much like ironing in this heat so  thats my next job .....So with love from Jan

Hi young Jan, what a compliment from Ina!  It`s a good day for fishing here because it`s been raining on and off so the fish will be more awake and biting...I just checked with Jim if that was right...lol!  I hope Maurice has a good productive day.  We had a storm this morning and it`s slightly cooler than yesterday and more comfortable.  Lovely photo of you and Aunt Kitty, Jim`s Mum feels the cold terribly whatever the weather is like so it was good that you were there to adjust the fan.  Enjoy the trip to Oakham tomorrow and I hope you take some photos. :o)

Aunt Kitty reminds me of my husband's grandmother.  She passed away at age 99.  She was bright and alert until the end. Did Maurice catch any fish?  It sounds like you had a great day!

Hope Maurice caught some fish today. Bless your Aunt Kitty's heart being so cold and not realizing what was causing it. Those were great pictures. Hope you had a good day today. Helen

Just done my ironing and believe it or not it is very hot up here tonight. I stood at the open kitchen door and it was not bad at all. Hope you have a good day out. LOve Joan.
