A quiet day !

Hi,Everyone ,Not much to tell today ,Maurice came in from work at about eight oclock this morning ,we chatted for a while before he went to bed ,I did abit of tentative tidying up.Then I curled up on the couch with my book!Which I finished. Patricia Cornwalls Cause of Death ,Im addicted to them ,and have already started, the next one,Unnatural Exposure!Oh the joys of being retired ,fancy reading in the day ,tut tut !!I then made dinner and did a pack up for Maurice, who has left me home alone again with the dog who is sleeping ,see I told you nothing much to report!! Is twelvth night tomorrow or the next day?

I read some journals and one of my comments was from Freda, who whilst on leave from her time consuming job ,at Christmas did an up date on her journal, only to have no one comment ,how disapointing after we;d begged for more when she had time, to get no responce .Look her up on Fredas diarys ,and if you havent read her before,Ican recommend her, she is well worth a read .Well the fairys didnt do the ironing ,so I guess Id better do it!  with love to you all          Jan xx

Yes retirement sounds delightful.  I'm looking forward to those days.  Even tho I'm working still, I manage to get reading time in. I take my book everwhere.  Last week I decided to run my car thru the carwash...you're right !  During the few minutes inside the car wash I was reading.  And I keep buying more books...I now have piles of them because the book shelves are full.  Happy ironing...Linda in Washington

What a lovely peaceful day you've had :-)  I think there's a problem with alerts - I've finally done an entry and no-one's commenting on it :-(  There's a few people's entries that I'm not getting............damn journals!!

Hi Joan,  I sometimes wish I were retired but alas, after a year not working my purse is a bit on the light side and I must find another job....sigh!  Enjoy all that daytime reading, though I prefer to read at night. I have books all over the place, perhaps I`ll have a car boot sale and make some cash selling them...lol! :o)

When J is at school I feel like I'm retired!!  I did plan on going back to work, but with J that's difficult, I could never leave him with a sitter.  And besides, I'm sure I don't have the time to work AND journal ;o)

Aargh - no alerts - what am I missing?????  Seems to be a bit selective tho' as I am getting your alerts Jan (but no one elses).  Thanks so much for spreading the word!
Lucky you being able to read at your leisure - you paint such a lovely portrait of retirement - that I am quite tempted to try it (roll on May when I will be 65 and will finally do it! - but don't tell my employers as I'm keeping my options open until the last minute lol!)  I go back to work on Monday and will have had 18 days off altogether - it has been lovely taking my time to do the chores instead of trying to fit them in with my work hours.  I plan on going through the whole house clearing out cupboards (and under the bed lol) and de-clutter my house - I may be joining you at the car boot ;-) Oh - and spend lots of time in the garden .....sigh......
