Grey Monday !

As the late great Larry Grayson  nearly said .what a grey day !!Well it's Monday again .The start of another week ,I;ve just been listening to the lunch time news ,apparently, last year 22000 people under went plastic surgery !its not cheap either the average nose job would set you back £3000,anyone for a face lift ? You should have known my mother ,I got a face lift every morning before School when I had long hair ,she would divide your head in two with the comb ?Then proceed to make two tight plaits ,at the back each side of your head ,well we could'nt have it come loose during the day,and woe betide you if you lost a hair ribbon ,and if you were'nt careful the boy sitting behind you would dip your plait in the ink well ,and then there would be trouble ,ink all over your blouse although I remember if you soaked the blouse in milk, the ink would come out !

Missing alerts again ...I know of at least two... Jules posted today and Freda yesterday !I recently put a list of my favourite journals at the side of mine, I must go back into that column and add the URL's ,I can then check for myself ,I know we dont' all post everyday ,But a lot of work goes into some of these entrys ,and it is such a shame when we are not acknowledged ,we all love our comments .No change in the mood dropdown yet either !!!OOooo we are on our soapbox today !!

I have been scanning more photographs this morning ,it kept me quiet whilst Maurice was asleep ,he's off now until Thursday morning .I'll go and wake him now with a cuppa, other wise he won't sleep tonight it's always difficult changing over

Enjoy the rest of Monday .............Jan xx

Ohhhh jan was a chav with her croydon facelift ROFL...Actually i read recently that's what madonna does...Her hairdresser takes bit of hair from behind her ears and makes tiny pleats that are then tied at back...It's all done so you can't see it and gives same effect as a face lift...I check journals i read daily now as i keep not getting alerts and alerts on mine go out intermittently :o(  Caff xxx

Hello....I saw something similar regarding facelifts on TV this morning. Some poor woman (forget her name), put herself through 9 operations for various things (now I'm not being nasty here, but she was just another bland looking blonde, in my opinion). I am 37, and quite frankly I would never undergo surgery - I love my laughter lines!! lol

Hi Jan,  I`ve been trying hard to leave a comment here but AOL in it`s wisdom keeps stopping me!  A really grey day here too, it`s so depressing, I`m forgetting what the sun looks like!  There seems to be widespread problems with alerts, some I get and others I don`t.  I keep checking through my journals list to see what`s what.  :o)

Oh boy, do I remember those pigtails ....and the pain of having your hair pulled back so tightly!!! At night I'd undo the dratted things and brush them out and hey presto I'd  have this marvellous frizz sticking way out from my head that I thought made me look so good! Off to plait my hair like Madonna to take the years off me! Ha!

I know what you mean about all these operations and plastic surgery, Id be to frightened and worried they would go wrong and end up looking worse than ever.
Its different if someone is disfigured or injured.Know what you mean about the tight plaits and lost hair ribbons. The girls today have so many accessories and gadgets they can put in their hair.Hope Maurice enjoys his days off........Love to you both.. Jeanxx

I can imagine your mother must've been quite a character :-)  Talking of Alerts I was wondering if people were getting mine again coz I've updated - not that I'm using your journal to alert you to that fact lol ;-) I don't see the point to plastic surgery unless it is absolutely necessary!!

When I was small my Mum used to tie a ribbon in my hair.  I haven't a photo of me as a small child without a ribbon on top of my head, lol :o)  Happy memories!

My mum used to tie ribbons in my hair! She also put those brown pipe cleaner-like curlers in! I hope you enjoyed your day reading. The alerts are always going down, I had one entry that I got only two comments from so I guess that alert didn't go out. Jeanette.

LOL! Jan,  The morning face lift! I remember it well...Mom would braid our hair, and pull it so tight that the parts down the middle and back of the hair were purple.  We would always squirm and tell her it hurt when it was that tight. She would say it didn't hurt her at all, and just keep on braiding. (She had 4 daughters with long hair.)    ~Deborah
