Twelfth Night

Today Sunday, Epiphany and of course Twelfth night, have you all taken down your Christmas decorations? I took most of mine down yesterday ,but just left one item to put away today ,So yet another Christmas is over ,at the risk of sounding a bore ,I’m not sorry ,all that present buying ,what to get everyone ? Will they like it? Then the wrapping, then all the Christmas cards Oh you know? And that’s not to mention the food, and then when you have barely recovered, comes New Year! and more jollifications ,does this all sound like ‘Bah Humbug’, its not meant to ,Of course I enjoyed everything ,mostly seeing all my lovely family ,and they all bought me some amazing presents as well as £85 worth M&S vouchers ,haven’t spent any yet  ,I am so blessed and I know it. So why I should experience some down days, I really don’t know, it’s the nature of the illness I suppose .and fortunately I managed to keep top side of it. So if you didn’t get a comment on your journal from me ,that was the reason ,and I’m so sorry I hate not acknowledging my friends especially those who visit me ,oh and for all of you who sent Maurice and I a Christmas card ,thank you so much ,Oh I must tell you ,one day just before Christmas, on a day when I was feeling down  a package came through the door ,a red envelope ,inside a polethene envelope ,the red envelope had split ,but fortunately ,the contents were safe ,inside was a really lovely scarf and a little metal book mark ,with the message ~Headed Friendship ,Don’t walk in front of me, I may not always follow….Don’t walk behind me I may not always lead…Just walk beside me and be my Friend ….you have no idea how much that meant to me ,thank you so much dear Pam ,this is something I will always treasure ,proving yet again what fantastic friendships are made here in J Land .Amongst my many lovely presents from Maurice he bought me a microphone for the computer ,he bought me a web cam a couple of years ago ,but I wasn’t keen on using it ,I mean you don’t always want your public ,to see you with a towel round your head after washing your hair ,or in your Jim jams ,or without  your make up on ,and hair done ,chuckle ,but with the mic I can chat away with out typing , we got one for my sister Jean too  ,so we can chat away to each other ,thus saving on phone calls !So if you feel inclined to IM me, I promise I wont be singing to you ,and so on that happy note I will finish ,have a blessed Sunday everyone ,with love as always

My siggy was made by my good friend Debbie ,she has now been in journal land a year ,and is successfully now running a great Psp group with Steph  ,Debbie is in my side bar .....

Hi Jan, I know exactly what you mean about Christmas.  It was lovely to have time with all my family, but the planning and the cost tend to take over.  Our cats will miss the Christmas tree, it gave them hours of entertainment.

You are brave to use the webcam, I don't even like having my photo taken so nothing would induce me to use a webcam!

Happy new year and don't worry too much about feeling down, I think a lot of people feel flat after Christmas.  You have lots to look forward to this year, fun filled times especially with that little puppy.  Go and take yourself to M&S and spend some of those vouchers in the sale.  I got some from my boss and got myself some lovely seat cushions for my dining table, beautiful bright red colour.  Otherwise, get in that food hall with them .... you can go really crazy and get some lovely treats.  I know what you mean about web cam, I definitely ain't getting that she says sitting here in her pjs at 12:57 am!  Hugs, Tells x

Yes we are back to ordinary days and I'm always relieved too.  As much as I enjoy the holidays, I'm ready to put it all behind and hopefully get organized around here.  Things are mostly put away, but I keep finding an odd item here and there that needs to go to the bin with all the decorations. It's a little warmer here and rain is promised for the next 5 days so I'll be trying to make my own sunshine for sure.  I always manage to find someway to brighten each day.

Hi Jan - what a lucky girlie you were to have so many lovely presents.  I'm sorry to hear that you still have down days - you are such a lovley person, so kind and thoughtful and always ready to give such lovely words of encouragment when they are needed.  You have been a tremendous support to me - thank you so very much.
With love Jaynee xx

Happy New Year to you and, like you, I am kinda glad it is all over..............I love my family, I even love the thought of Christmas, but it is getting sooooo expensive and seems to be around forever and the real message gets buried underneath all the hype.  Anyway, glad you had a good time.  You sure were a lucky girl getting all those prezzies.  Eileenx

What lovely presents Jan, I shall be looking for someone wearing a beautiful bright scarf or a heavenly pink pashmina around town!  Mind you, I'm going to have to start bussing it as my arthritis is now preventing me from driving :-(
Every year I find some decoration or other days, even weeks after I 've taken everything down lol!

Happy New Year to you and your family Jan and to all your readers.

all the best
Freda

Happy 12th night, Jan!  I suffered from depression for a good while years ago.  You will get control of it but it takes time.  The good days will start to outweigh the bad ones until you go for a very long time with no blackness.  Hang in there, my friend, brighter days are always on the horizon.  Love xx Chris

You got some lovely gifts! Your desk looks like mine...very well used! LOL!
I hope you find that your depression is lighter this year. It takes time. I've been fighting it for a long time. It does present us with good days and bad. Eventually you will notice the good days outnumber the bad ones. That's where I am now. You will get there. But, it's a constant battle with this disease.
Love ya,

Your desk looks very much like my untidy desk Jan! Lol! I wouldn't like to use a webcam either, I never put any clothes on till I'm ready to go to work, I think the shock of seeing me naked may unsettle J-Land! Your pressies are lovely, I didn't put up any decorations this year, I wasn't around on Christmas Day and it all seems too much trouble. Jeannette xx

My Christmas decorations have been down since right after Christmas. I didn't put out very many this year. I always feel a let down after Christmas. Guess it is because all the excitement is gone. I love your graphics. Helen

Decorations down erm nopes...Some are and some are still up there...Too hard to reach with knackered shoulder and the boys ain't too keen on getting on a stepladder that high...Am sorry you didn't get sent a card this year or some turkish delight...I didn't have time to make the latter even though i did get all the ingredients...And the former well i lost your address when my harddrive gave up the ghost in oct :o( Am not bah humbug either but it can get a tad weary like with all that is expected that we 'must' do at Christmas and New Year   Caff xxxxxx

The house always looks a little sad and empty after I take down my decorations!  Quite a few people in my family have struggled with depression for a number of years.  I used to as well, but I find now that my faith helps to carry me through alot of those times.  I am lucky I know.  I do get down from time to time but not anything that I can't shake off.  (((HUGS)))  Here's hoping that 2008 is a much better year for you with far more ups to it than downs!
love,
Marie

Dear Jan,

My family took down our Christmas decorations on the weekend.  I always think people's homes look bare after the festive period, don't you?  It's sounds like you had some lovely presents, and I'm sure that you'll have a good time in M&S with £85 to spend!

hi jan, enjoy spending your m&s vouchers. It does all look bare and shows up the fact that the living room needs decorating. I understand what you said about the rushinh before christmas and the feeling low after, what is scary is that I saw easter eggs in Asda!! It all moves so quickly. take care mrs t xx

Have fun with your microphone, mine was a good send during the time my daughter was in Spain, and then my husband in New York - was able to talk to them everyday via Skype, and best of all it cost nothing
