Such an awful day today, Thankyou to Chris for cheering me up with this lovely graphic .....
It’s a wild and windy day here in my little corner of East Anglia, except that we aren’t in a corner….. in the Fens it is wide open so the winds are coming straight over from the North Sea, with very little to stop it, it isn’t fit to put a brush out today, fortunately I have no need to venture out so, I aint gonna!!The rain is lashing down, a couple of garden chairs have been blown over, and the garden swing cover, is in danger of taking off, Maurice rang a little while ago, he said it was very rough driving into work this morning, the wind blowing him all over the place he drives a 4x4, so how it would be in a car I don’t know. or indeed a high sided vehicle....
I had a lovely day last Friday ,when my daughter in law Chrissie drove her friend Dawn ,my daughter Kate and Ito Huntingdon , I bought a couple of books (of course )paper for the printer , some yellow wool and some orange felt amongst other bits and pieces ,My sister in law Jackie belongs to ‘The Catholic ladies group ‘,and they fund raise to buy houses for women and children thus rescuing them from the sex trade, so we are knitting chicks ,well covers for the Cadbury cream eggs .to see on the stall at the Easter Fayre I have made about a dozen so far ,I will take a picture when I have done the eyes and beaks ….
Kizzie had a nice Birthday, and thanks you all for your Birthday wishes, she had lots of presents, most of which she has eaten, including two new squeaky toys, she looks the business in her new Bandana Chrissie bought her, and loves the fluffy monkey from Kate.
Maurice and I spent a nice day on Monday in St Ives, I bought some pyjamas trousers, I love these you can wear them with tee shirts, vest tops or even night shirts, and of course some more books ,Oh and Maurice bought a Banjo or is it a uke ? never know the difference lol
And then I went to a news letter meeting on Tuesday, where a couple of items I had submitted were chosen, Chrissie brought me home and we stopped to take the pictures of the little church on the corner of a lonely Fen road to take pictures of the snow drops ….
So here I am again ,nearly another week gone by since my last posting ,still far to many alerts to catch up on ,and of course the never ending pile of ironing, so I had better stop now and go and attend to some of that ..as ever lots of love Jan xxxx

Great pictures Jan, gald you enjoyed your day out in Huntingdon. Does Maurice play the Banjo/Uke? seems Kizzie enjoyed her birthday..lol.
Very cold windy and rainey here today thank god I did all my shopping yesterday so I'll be cuddled up with the cats reading my lastest Harlen Coben book.
Take care
Yasmin

We've got the same weather as you Jan, but then Essex isn't so far away is it?
I like Maurice's banjo. Can he play it? My B.I.L. is no stranger to all manner of stringed instruments but he gave up trying to learn the banjo so it must be tough to learn.

It certainly is blowy in these parts, isn't it Jan! I am very exposed here, being rather high up and open fields to the front. I tried to stay in bed a bit later when I heard the winds, but then I heard bins being blown all over the place so I thought I'd better go and investigate. One narrowly missed a parked car =:-O
Kizzy looks a real scamp in her neckerchief!

That is a banjo.....a Uke (Ukelele) is a very tiny guitar looking instrument....think George Formby!! The wind has eased here in Weetabix-land but bet it will be back soon!!
We had the big wind yesterday so it seems to have blown over your way. Today is calm, but cold. I do love the cheery graphic you have too ! I'm starting to decorate my house now with valentine theme trinkets. I've yet to get some candy for the dish on the table, I know I'll find some hearts to fill it. Time to cheer things up on the inside even though the outside is dreary. 'On Ya' - ma
The weather is awful here too, pretty general I think, and worse to come. I had Taxi to Drs, but walked back, as it had stopped raining for a while.
Kizzie looks very intent on her presents, and she does look 'cool' in her Bandana.
Love the Snowdrop pics, and just realised the Hodsock Priory walks open 1st Feb. Shall not bother unless weather picks up, it closes again 2nd March (Mothers Day)
Stay warm

I like those pyjama bottoms too, they are very cosy with a T-shirt, PLUS a cardigan these cold nights.

It sounds like you have had a wonderful week! Lots of shopping and companionship! Other than the weather it sounds great!
Enjoyed your pics! That church looks so very peaceful. I would enjoy seeing that in person.
Love,
Pam
Snowdrops, will have to go out after these gales are gone and look for them.
The instrument is a banjo. A ukelele has a triangular soundbox.
yesterday, very blustery
after the garbage men came
our can ended up
at the end of our street
dead end
haven't found the lid yet...

Sounds like a good day to stay in and get the ironing done. I'm looking forward to seeing the covers for the eggs. Belated birthday wishes to Kizzie. Love the PJ's Dawn
Pretty church. Hold fast and don't let the wind blow you away.
Ice storm is headed our way tonight.
Thanks Jan, That is a great graphic..it even cheered me up today..as you say it has been so wild..Thank goodness we stay in a nice warm house. Have a great week, Love sybil xx
Hi Jan, isn`t the weather awful at the moment? The rain was blowing sideways at one point and we were all freezing this morning. If it hadn`t been for work today I wouldn`t have left the house! Mmm...cream eggs, I just love `em, we sell them at work and I have to look at them all day long....sigh! :o)
Love Sandra xxxx
Poor Maurice in his 4 x 4! It was sooo windy today as well! I can hear it outside now too brrr...Kizzy did well, I can't believe she has had a birthday already and I love her bandana, what a dude!...the pictures of the little church and snowdrops were lovely...Linda x x
Hello Jan. I loved the graphic. Kizzie looks happy and well done you!, what a worthy cause to be helping. I almost got blown away......lol That tells you just exactly how strong this wind is!!!!!! ;-) Love Pam xx

Gabi says "Happy belated Birthday" to Kizzie. Looks like the birthday present fiary was very good to her. I haven't tried those flannel pajama pants yet. I know the guys in my family like them. My son & son-in-law each got a pair from me for Christmas. I wear flannel nightgowns in the winter but am thinking flannel pj's might be better. We're having a rainy, windy day here too. I guess it's pretty much the same all over. Hugs to all of you...Linda & Gabi in Washington state

Jan it has been an awful day here too...Last night i could barely sleep for the wind and although Kerry is 140 miles south of me she was worried sick her bedroom window was going to get blown in...And the forecast is now for snow all around here except in the actual city...I can barely drive yet as it is and there is no way i am taking the car anywhere...Love the pics of the snowdrops :o) Caff xxxxxx
WE had an awful day here yesterday as well. Although the sun did come out about midway through the afternoon. They say we are to get snow this weekend! Sounds you had a lovely day with your family and friends. My kizzie does look smart in her neckerchief! It is hard to believe she is a year old already! Doesn't time fly! Have a wonderful weekend Jan!

Happy belated birthday to Kizzie she looks great in her bandana ~ didn't she get a lot of prezzies ~ Love Maurice's Banjo ~ and the pictures of the little church and the snowdrops are lovely ~ We had high winds and rain yesterday and it was an awful day ~ the wind blew the icebox away that we leave out for the milkman and the bottles of milk inside were smashed to pieces ~ Oh what a mess ~ Ally x
Kizzie definitely looks like she is enjoying herself with her new toys. Love the pj's you picked up, they look comfortable. As for the instrument that is a Banjo. Sounds like you had a wonderful time on your sojourn into Huntington hon. (Hugs) Indigo
Kizzie looks so cute. It's so good to have a dog living in our house again, although ours looks like a horse compared to Kizzie's size.
Love the snowdrop pictures. we must try to do our snowdrop drive this week.

I'd love to see an open window with soft breezes coming in and a vase of tulips. We had a huge windstorm the other day. It was extremely hard to navigate around the things flying here and there. Those covers for the Cadbury eggs sound so cute. I can't wait to see them. A wonderful cause also. LOL...Kizzie certainly looks busy. Have a good Sunday evening! Love xx Chris
Love the picture of the little church and congrats on your award. Paula
