Two years journaling !

Yes,two years ago I took the plunge, and started to write in this journal, and what an experience it proved to be, I have made so many wonderful friends, which has been proved to me recently when I became ill with depression, so many comments, from you all sending me your love, and assuring me of your prayers, I firmly believe in the power of prayer, and as my sister said to me if love could make you better, then you have it ,Happily, I feel so much better now ,thanks to love and prayer  and the magic little pill I pop each morning

What did you think to my opening tag today? My dear and talented friend Debbie made it for me; it was through the net I met her! Even though she lives just round the corner, I was shopping one day and she said she had seen me on the welcome page when I was featured as a Silver Surfer, a year last May, and we have been friends ever since, now she doesn’t often enter in her journal, she is far to busy making her very clever graphics, and sharing them with us all.

Over the last two years I have introduced you to my lovely family, and you have shared many of our gatherings, I have taken you along with Maurice and I when we have gone out and about .I have shown youknitting, sewing and patch work I have done, I told my Mothers life story, told you about all the Vicars I had the joy of knowing, Like so many of you I did a tribute to a victim of September 11th

I was honoured to get to know and mourn John Santore ,this for me, like many of you was a moving thing to do ,and I will always keep a place in my heart for this brave young fire-fighter. You shared our joy when we got our puppy Kizzie; I have told you about my ironing, and when I have cleaned my windows! (Guess what; we haven’t had our Summer duvet on yet!)

I have told you what books I have read .all about Maurice’s shifts and what I have for my supper .and you have faithfully commented and given me so much pleasure with your reply’s and your own journals ,So thank you all for sharing the last two years  with me ,sharing your journals/blogs and lives with me  ,

I will close this entry ,as always ...love Jan xx

So pleased to see you are feeling so much better. I have enjoyed reading your journal. It is the everyday things that we all do that are of interest. So many folk read your journal that they must find it interesting even if you do talk about doing the ironing!! Keep it up as we all love you. Love Conniexx

I am so glad that you are feeling better. I for one have enjoyed reading all your enteries. You always are doing things to make life interesting. I know you have enjoyed having little Kizzie around to keep you company. Our Patches is standing up against the computer chair and my arm trying to get my attention. Tell kizzie that Patches says hello and she sure would like to see her and play for a while. Have a nice weekend Jan. Helen

Jan, you have brought us all a lot of pleasure with your blog and I hope you will continue writing for many years to come.  I started my first blog in 2003 during a very sad time for my family and it was a lifeline.  I am sure that writing helps to keep life in perspective.  I hope your health continues to improve.  I loved the tag. Jan I could not believe it when you said you had been journalling for TWO years!  Gosh, where has the time gone?
Mind you, I was just thinking last night in bed, as you do ;-) that it is about a year and a half since the the 'add to journal' button went missing and I could no longer continue with my 'diary' journal.  I have no such excuse now, and as everything dies down in the garden, will get on with it.
Love your graphics, clever Debbie!

Happy 2nd anniversary, Jan!  Mine is coming up next month.  I just might have to implore Debbie to make me a graphic because I am clueless on many things.  It's been my pleasure to share your life with you.  I'm so glad that the little pill you pop is helping you feel yourself again.  Depression is hell.  Enjoy your weekend. Much love xx Chris

Happy Anniversary Jan.
Have only started reading journals again this evening, after a fairly long absence, due to illness and the resultant depression it caused. I'm real sorry to read that you too have suffered a bout of depression - it's a crucifying illness. Today my family helped me feel alive again - son took me and hubby (along with our 2 little grandaughters) to the New Forest and Barton-on-Sea. I'd had a rough night, still awake at 2am, and was woken at 8.45 this morning by frantic knocks on the front door: My little girls were waiting on the step with a smile and a hug and a big surprise: "We're taking you and grandad out Nan, so you've got to get washed and dressed quick, while daddy makes your breakfasts". Never in my wildest dreams, did I realise I'd be paddling in the sea today, creased up with laughter, when Holly and I got an unexpected soaking - we were daft enough to think the tide was going out - we were caught out lol!
Hope your family brings you the pleasures mine have today. Take care.
Lots of love
Sylvia xx

Hi, Jan,  just catching up with your journals.  I love the creative anniversary tag.  Way to keep it up for 2 years!  I look forward to reading more of your adventures.  Sorry to hear about your panic attack...but glad you were able to find something to help it!   Keep writing, it brings joy  and something to look forward too as well.  I've found a very good blog on positive attitude that you might like.  Here is one of the entries:  http://www.positivityblog.com/index.php/2007/05/09/top-5-tips-for-living-a-more-positive-life/ .. I find them very uplifting and good tips.   Good luck and thanks for stopping by my journal from time to time!  Maria

Happy anniversary. If it wasn't for the computer and j-land I most probably would not have ever met you. I'm so glad I did and I'm so glad to read that you are feeling better. Take care of yourself and may you have many more years of journaling. Paula

Hi, Jan!  I have enjoyed knowing you since I found your journal.  I think Jeannette of Jeannette's Jottings lead me your way.  However I found you, I am so blessed that I did.  You have been a source of inspiration and a lot of fun.  I am so glad you are feeling better.  As one who has dealt with depression, I am so proud of how you have faced this and that you have shared it with so many.

So, here's to many more years of journaling and sharing your journey with us!
Love, Kathy

First time I have gone on to a blog even though I have been hearing about them for a while. With yours being the first I must say I am impressed. It's bright and  cheerful and it feels like serendipity to have found it,especially when I read that you were invoved in care of the elderly.I have been nursing(qualified) since 1977 and although I have diversified often I still return to elderly care.Strange how life is.I must keep abreast of what's going on as,although at present I am not working due to health problems,I will probably end up needing care myself. And if today is anything to go bu it may be soon.
