Getting out !

It’s the ‘over sixties’, meeting this afternoon, I am informed we are to be entertained by A pearly king and Queen, sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? , I have missed the last two meetings, but today I am going to try and attend the meeting, there I am committed now! I will continue this entry when I get back ………..

That’s what wrote   yesterday morning, and yes I went, the first time I went to a gathering on my own, I have been to my daughter Kate’s a few times with Maurice ,Maurice has been building Kate and Martin a pergola (sp? )The last time we went to Kate’s was last Thursday; My Grandson Paul was there, to help Maurice, he had Keira with him, she is the daughter of his girlfriend but she is as much Paul’s and ours, as if she really was his .making me a Great Grandmother, and she is a treasure .Then in the afternoon My Sister Jean and her daughter my niece, Jo and her little daughters Rachel and Emma turned up, so we had a lovely family day, I have  to admit to feeling worn out when we got home ,but a very nice day out none the less,

Right back to yesterday ,We were all assembled waiting for the entertainer when the Chair lady announced that the man George ,had put the booking into his desk  diary but not on his wall diary, so had forgotten !! ….however he drove like mad and turned up alone and not in his Pearly suit and without his wife , but he did entertain us with lots of songs some old cockney story’s and jokes ,and a promise to come back again ,I do hope he does then I can take some pictures ,Well there you are an entry ....without to much trouble ! bet you think shes better now ,well I am , and err Im not if you know what I mean ,but I amgetting there and again I want to thank you all ...for your love and support   With my Love

So glad you are so much better and getting out.  I love your Over 60's club. They sound like a bunch that loves to have fun.  Family gatherings always seem the best though.  They wear me out too, but I wouldn't miss them for the world.  Sometimes I think I'd be better off staying at home, but that is no fun at all.  Take good care and I'll be looking forward to the next entry telling us where you've been and what you are doing !   'On Ya' - ma

Dear Jan

What a wonderful entry.  Its so nice getting to know your family in pictures.  Isn't Keira a little beauty?  That is going to be some Pergola.  I doubt if that will ever go wrong with so many men invoved in erecting it.  Its going to be lovely.  I was so happy to hear that you are feeling much better my friend.  Onwards and upwards...yes?  Well done!

I've always wanted to see a Pearly King and Queen.  I thought that when I came over to England there'd be one on every corner!  I suppose that is the same as expecting to see a Mountie in his red uniform on every corner in Canada eh?  Oh well.  At least you got to enjoy the man and his jokes etc.  They built a pergola in the back garden at the big house this summer as well.  It was quite an undertaking, but will be very lovely once all the plants are growing all over it. Yours will too!  Well done to the boys!  Your little grand daughter is a treasure!

Glad your health is 'getting there' Jan.  They were great pics but unfortunately for about the last 5 all I got was the captions and no pic.  Lovely entry though.

Well you did do well going to the over 60's club. Well done. You will be pleased to know that the pergola is now all done and complete. We had the gravel delivered yesterday and it was all systems go last night but it's all where it should be now. Many thanks to Pops for all his hard work, i am sure you will both enjoy it as much as we are doing - Keep up the good work but try not to run before you can walk. Love you to the sky and back.

Hi Jan. Maurice is really good at doing these kind of jobs, I remember the lovely fireplace he made you. It's great to see an entry from you and hearing you're on the mend. Pity the pearly king didn't have his gear on but I'm glad he turned up! I saw a pearly king and queen when I went to Greenwich a few years ago. The photos of your lovelyt family are great, little Keira looks a bundle of fun, I love the one of her with her eyes screwed up! Have a good weekend!
