A funny sort of day !

Ive had a very disjointed sort of Saturday,I lost the remote for the TV set in the kitchen, so for the last couple of days I have been looking everywhere for it ,although it is a way, to tidy up all the annoying little things that find them selves in there on all the work surfaces ,so spent alot of time searching ,then gave up ...am aware my library books should have gone back on the 9th ,so after a long chat to a dear friend on the phone I realised ,I should go to the market ,but was too late for the library ,decide they are late now ,they will have to wait now till Monday ...set off with my trolley ...the wind nearly blew off my baker boy cap ,which Id slapped onto my head cos I didnt do too much to my hair ,before I rushed out ...I caught the' sell most anything shop' before it closed for lunch  ,to buy one of those things ,for the strip light in the kitchen ,think its a starter thingy ,that Maurice said we need cos the strip light is not working ,am using a table lamp in there since it went defunct last night .Carried on with my shopping ,all the mundane stuff then a visit to the home made bakers for a couple of squidgy cream cakes finished up in the charity shop ,and bought a book ,well I need another ,hmm lol ? entitled Titanic Survivor, and it is the memoirs of Violet Jessop ,who survived both the Titanic and Britannic disasters ,looks interesting ,I also bought a bag containing enough material to make a skirt and the pattern, for a pound ,I came home ,and still annoyed by this lost remote ,I went to see if it had been thrown away in the rubbish I looked through the bin, with no luck ,came in to see Debbie had IM d me to see if I wanted to pop round for a coffee ,so I went along and Debbie ,Jason and I chatted away ,about all sorts of everything ,for a while ...I came home and cleared up all the outstanding e-mails ,appealing to Ted the old gentleman who had lived in this bungalow before us ,to please put the tele remote back , finished what I was doing ,then went to read the tv mag beside me to see what time the evening news would be on ,and lo under the magazine and on top of my knitting pattern was ,....yes you've guessed it  ,the lost remote !!  in the lounge !! Told you my day was disjointed didnt I ? One very nice thing ,when I started to read my alerts today I found the following siggy from dear Donna ,and I love it ,It is so me isnt it ? So have a great Saturday evening everyone ,with love from

Donna says she knows I,m not keen on these critters ,but these are quite sweet arent they? ,as long as they dont chew my material or knitting wool

Brave girl Jan, going out in this blustery weather. I couldn't be bothered to pop over there today, hope the market stalls survived! I went in that 'shop that sells everything' just before Christmas, first time I'd been in there in years, it's a bit out of the way, isn't it.  I told the manager, that I wouldn't like to do the stocktaking in there!  It's like Aladdin's cave.
Yes the graphics are lovely, I'm used to them little critters, my cats are always bringing them in :-(
Have a nice Sunday, glad you found the remote!

Hello Jan, Isn`t it annoying when you can`t find something you know can`t be far away? I don`t suppose Ted had been hiding it all along...lol! Oh dear, I hope the library won`t fine you too much for your books. I remember as a child being told off quite severely by our local librarian when my books were late. I was never late again as I was too scared of her...lol!

Be glad you didn't find your dog sitting in his crate with the remote between his paws and a "mine, mine" look in her eyes!
Last time I lost mine I found it in my pants pocket sitting in the washer...was a good thing I haden't started the wash yet!
Good luck!

Remotes just have a way of dissapearing into thin air at our house. We even found one down in the cushions in the sofa we moved to the garage and hadn't even missed it. Paula

Remotes disappear like the ONE sock in the dryer that can't be found!  I can't ever figure out where those single socks go to!
Glad you found it, though.  When I saw that siggy over at Donna's journal I knew you'd have it soon! LOL!  It is so cute and it did remind me of you, Jan!
Have a good night.

Donna should have tucked a remote control into your knit basket on your tag =)
We have things disappear like that all the time. Today, it's a wooden piece of the Jenga game the kids were playing with. Their excuse: the dog ate it.  Hmmmm!
Have a fabulous weekend, dear!

I left the Sky remote in the fridge a few weeks back so you are not that disjointed after all!!!! Have a good weekend and don't lose the remote again!!!!

Took me a week to find a saucepan lid after Flo did the drying up at Christmas. It's so frustrating when these things go into hiding.

I'm watching the film, The Shipping News as I type this. We've had a lap-top and gone Wireless, now I can be on the Internet and watch telly!

I'm glad you finally found the remote. I'm always losing things and can't see them for looking sometimes; they're right under my nose! It was a grey windy day here too, roll on summer! Donna's tag is lovely, I saw it in her journal today. Have a good sunday. Jeannette xx

Doesn't that make you mad when you loose something like that.  With me, it's the cordless telephone handset.  The phone rings and I'm running around the house like a mad woman, looking for the handset to I can answer the phone.  I tell everyone, if they call me and I don't answer..wait a couple minutes and call me back.  But no one ever does that.  The little mice are very cute..I just don't lke real ones.  Linda in Washington

I guess we all have those kinds of days ...sometimes I look in the same place 3 times and on the 4 th time I find what I was looking for...other times I don't find it at all.  I am so good at putting things in a safe place that even I can't find it.  Hope your evening was a good one .  'On Ya' - ma

Oh Jan, my husband's father was always hiding things when he was alive, being a bit of an imp.  Now when we can't find things, we know that Claude is about.  It's amazing that when we tell him to put it back, it appears just where we thought we put it!  Thanks for sharing this!

Hugs,
Susie

I'm constantly losing the remote.  It drives me crazy.  Glad old Ted returned it to you...lol.  I love your siggy tag.  I have to agree that I'm terrified of those little critters.  Ally had me in stitches with her entry about nurturing that little field mouse.  That book you got sounds fascinating.  Have yourself a wonderful Sunday.
