Good evening everyone ,well winter weather caught up with us at last ,when I opened the curtains this morning I saw Jack frost had been busy with his paint brush .and though it looked pretty it was very cold .Making me happy to be retired ,I dont need to go out until ,it warms up a bit
Maurice has gone off to work ,for the first of his three nights ,then he is to have a few days off ,the car is due its MOT so ,once that is done ,we will have to go ,exploring again ,the nice thing about living here there is always places of interest to visit .I am still doing my patchwork ,so am still keeping my new years resolution ,does it count as a resolution ,if its something you enjoy ?
Do you remember me telling you about the book about the Titanic Survivor,about Violet Jessop who was a stewardess on board various ships during the early 1900's,that I bought from the charity shop for 50p,written from Violets manuscripts by John Maxstone-Graham ,I made an exciting discovery .....
I think that is the signature of the Author ,and think it reads ~For Nichi bon voyage.always !

Look after that book.....it is worth far more with that signature....pity it is in red though! Loved you first graphic on this entry, have to admit I have snagged it but the way things are going I probably won't be able to use it for a while......have even considered buying an aol router on ebay!!!!
Hi Jan yes I got more than Jack Frost when I opened my blinds this morning .I had a load of that white stuff which looks nice on postcards.Took a couple of pics to save.Bitter with it too.I am staying inside where it's warm as you say.Well what a find in the charity shop in your book Jan good on ya girl.Sounds like it's going to be nice interesting story.Lovely graphics once again very Posh lol!! I usually have a quick look at the books in that charity shop, but there are so many, you found a really interesting one there.

Definately a keeper if it's signed by the author and by the looks of it I would say yes you can see the J Maxtone Graham...keep it in a zip bag away from dust and air to save on decay...wonderful book tho. Beautiful purples/violet Rose..my favorite colors. :)))))Doreen

Makes you wonder what happened to the reciever of the book and why it was not kept. It's been pretty cool for several days here with the highs in the 40's with a cold wind blowing. It cuts me down to the bone. LOL. Hugs, Helen

That book was a good find, I've found three signed books like that, the most famous one was by Patrick Moore writing under the name of R.T. Fishall. I've often wondered why people give books like that away! I'd keep them for ever! I hope you enjoy reading it. Winter is upon us now, so cold out there now, can't we go straight into summer now?! I enjoyed seeing the pictures of the town center and the old movie theater. Too bad they are tearing it down. So many of the old buildings go to make way for apartments.

Oh Jan, did you see the news several nights ago? Over a million people in the UK don't pay their taxes on their cars! Wow! So there we goody two shoes are paying for those a**holes! Hurumph!
