Good Evening every one ,what have you been doing today ?
Here is a clue ....apart from chatting to some friends on IM ,and making meals ,Mark and Chrissie came over to see us, before Maurice went off to work ...I have been sewing,I did say ,my resolution was to get back to my patch work ,well as my graphics suggest that is what I have been doing ...I didnt realise how many pieces I have started ,and before I retired I promised my self I would complete some of my projects ,so after just over two years retirement I think the time is NOW .My dear neighbour Ally (Glens Mum)bought us a delicious box of Marks and Spencers choccy biccys,We have been savouring these biscuits, but I think the time has come to gobble up the last few ,while Maurice is at work(insert wicked giggle here ) because this tin is ideal for all the little pieces of material for the next cushion cover ,and so to sew ,Have a lovely evening every one with love and

Those cushion covers are lovely. I used to sew all the time but the old back won't allow me to sit doing that anymore. Helen
Loved the cushion when I visited the other day, you are talented aren't you I can only just manage to sew on a button lol.

I really do not know how you find the time, Jan. Lovely work, and what an original reason for scoffing the biccies ! Bunny xx
Absolutely lovely!!! Wish I was that talented, my Granny used to do it, my Mom some...but I never caught on to it.
Hugs, Sugar
Your cushions are so pretty, Jan! I love the patterns and colors you have done. What a nice way to spend your time. I have sewn before but not as detailed as you. I found it very relaxing. Have a good evening.

Oh dear! Back in the 70s my mum crocheted me a waistcoat - it looked very similar to that knee rug! I think I've got a picture somewhere but I'm sure not gonna show that around, lol. B. x
I love your hand work...such beautiful colors. One of my retirement goals is to learn to knit. I can sew but have never done any quilting. So I may try that too.
Sounds like you've had a good weekend...Linda in soggy Washington
Jan your cushions are lovely ~ and that tin from M&S will be perfect to keep your pieces of material in ~ enjoy your sewing the things you make are really lovely ~ Ally
Well Jan you certainly are a good seemstress I must say. That cushion is lovely and the crotchet brough back many memories of when my mother would sit hours doing it.I will show you a bedspread my Aunt did once in patchwork I will try take a picture and send it in an e. mail to you.I still have it after 38yrs.She was a seemstress for the local maternity hospital at the time and made lots for all the beds when she retired they gave her one for a keepsake with curtains to match, just before she died at the good old age of 93 she handed it down to me.I love patchwork of any sort. It's the old eyes that get to me now for close work.Haaaaaaaaaa I have heard of lots of exuses for emptying biscuit tins but yours beets them all haaaaaaaaa!!!! Poor Maurice no choccy's left when he arrives home (Gobble Gobble goes Jan )LOL!! Take care God Bless Graphics were realy pretty.

It looks like you've been keeping busy. I have boxes of stuff (some patchwork too ) set a side for some day...someday I'll have time. I'm never bored and I have a feeling neither are you. So much to do - so little time ! I shopped til I dropped and couldn't walk another step further, now I'm relaxing ! 'On Ya ' - ma
You have been busy, I used to do a bit of cross stitch but my eyes have got worse over the years and so now I have to wear bifocals and still struggle over looking at small things. I really used to enjoy doing it, it was very restful. You seem to have a real talent. Hugs. Terry x
Hi Jan - wow, is there no end to your talents? Your cushion looks fabulous.

You are clever Jan! I've never tried patchwork, my friend used to do it but it looked too fiddly for me! What a good excuse for eating the biccies, you needed the tin! Have a great week! Jeannette xx http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
Very nice work! I've been sewing, too. Made a quilt top for my new grandbaby. I really enjoy sewing. It's fun and a good creative vent. Hope to see more of your pieces soon.

wow..I wish I could do that! Mum taught us girls how to sew and knit, crochet when we were little but dare I say I can't remember a thing! Very talented and great work. Now paint I can but sew anything other than hem's and buttons I can't!
:)))))Doreen
Do you do your patchwork by hand? I remember years ago a made a patchwork dovet cover on the machine for Richard when he was a lad. I love knee rugs too great on a chilly evening. Love Joan.
What lovely work. Wish I could do that but my sewing is never neat, lots of my family were tailors or tailoresses, obviously the talent skipped my generation!

You are so clever Jan. I have always loved patchwork but I have never been any good with a needle. I was near bottom of the class for it at school. They are beautiful.

was reading you blog again jan,i am also left handed and a fish lol my hubby is left handed aswell and just missed out being a fish, which means your birthday is comming up very soon, mine is 22nd feb.
Saving the tin, after it is empty, yes, I know what you mean. Isn't it a wonderful idea to need an excuse to have a tin for something else.
Just joking.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and that your New Year meets all your expectations.
By for now,
John and family.
jan i was talking to my mum today,i knew we lived in huntingdon about 40 years ago, road called saunders close, and i remember my best friends there was a girl called susan fur :-)my aunt mabel lived there too.

Jan, what beautiful work you do! I think that sewing and crocheting is a lost art. You have a lovely hand. I never thought to do a throw like yours. I have all these scraps of yarn and I would like to do something constructive with them. I like that throw! Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful handcrafted items with us!
Love,
Susie
