Lets Celebrate !

Some thing exciting is happening in J-Land ,check out Donna's journal ,she has made some amazing graphics for us to celebrate three years of journals/blogs,and suggests we visit Vivians journal too, who has some ideas and is looking for more  ,both these Ladies are on my side bar , though have to admit Vivian is new to me ,I have now put her on alerts as she looks to have an interesting journal ,I am meeting new people all the time . My own journal has been going for just over eleven months now .And what alot of friends I have made in that time ,and what alot I have learned ,mostly from other journalists,who are great at helping out with stuff I couldnt get my head round ,I wonder just how many journals there are ?who took the plunge and pressed save to post the first one ! I have been doing a tentative look around the UK ones ,and the first one I came up with is Stuart  on specimen days ,(have you tried his quiz ?even I am getting respectable results !!) Then I think it was Jules with Its my life ,then Claudia ,La Doci vita,then Jeannette took the plunge with Jeannettes jottings ,and like Stuart they are both on the blog page ,and Jeannette has helped most of the UK  journals to get started ,she certainly put me on the right track ,oh the times I emailed her in the beginning ,and each time she came back with the solution and then Sandra ,with Sandras Scribbles ,another one who helped me in the beginning ,Sandra has recently had PC problems and was away for a while and boy did we miss her ,she was conspicuous by her absence ....Dont really know where this list is leading me ,I just wondered who had been here from the beginning ,I suppose ! and to see who stayed the course ,many havent ,even since I started .....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have posted some pictures I took last weekend ,we have had rain each day since and it feels quite cold out now ,the forecast  says the warm weather is coming back ,and I hope they mean warm and not hot as it was for a while ,some newspapers were saying August was to be even hotter than  the July  highs ,oh dear !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well I had better go and do some housework ,to justify my existence  Have a great rest of the day .....and .Lets

     Jan xx

Thankyou Donna !  'a graphic for all ocasions '

As journals started in America, I think it was mostly Americans at first and I believe Stuart was the first one over here.  Thanks for the mention Jan.  Like you say a lot of them did not stay the course and many left when adverts were put on blogs.  Now I hear that in America aol is going to be free.  I am suspicious because you do not get anything for nothing in this world but that is what they are saying.  How are they going to make a profit then?

P.S. meant to say, your tomatoes look lovely and the flowers are so pretty. Our ground is still pretty much as dry as that.

Hi Jan,   Thanks for the mention, it`s nice to know that I`ve been missed! :o))  I think your passion flower is lovely and will be even more so with each passing year, hmm...maybe I should grow one.  My own journal is almost two years old now and I didn`t imagine THAT when I first started out.  I`ve seen lots of journals come and go but the most important ones are still here and hopefully will carry on. :o)

It would ne interesting to find out just how many there are. I sometimes go on a blog ramble. I click a link from someone's side bar, see where it leads, read an entry or two, then click another link etc. It's an enjoyable way to travel around blogland and you meet some fascinating people along the way. I remember Vivian from when she had a journal before. She was one of those who left when the ads appeared! I do hope the hot weather will return, it's felt like winter here but still no rain! AOL won't let me enlarge any pics tonight, I'll have to come back to see them! Have a good weekend! Jeannette xx

Vivian is from before "The Great Diaspora." I think that may have been before your time and I don't think the UK had the ads on their journals then either. It's awesome that she is doing this for us!!!
The passion flower is beautiful and I would love to run off with those tomatoes:)

Jan,

It's looking very festive over here!  Thanks for spreading the anniversary spirit!  Yes, I'm one of the people who got her panties in a wad when the ads arrived...but I was also very involved in a new romance around that time so that also kept me away from my keyboard  :)  But I was never good for anything except anniversary celebations and awards anyway....so here I am back in full swing with an anniversary celebration  LOL

Thanks for your post.....Donna's graphics are awesome...I love the one you have with the hat and the shoes....I hadn't seen that one yet!

Have a great weekend!

Vivian

I was also wondering who had the very first journal and have gotten more "tech" support from J-Land than I could imagine.  Wow, those are very large cherry tomatoes.  Your garden grows beautifully.  xx Chris
