Young Love !

Stuart is my second Grandson ,and what a lovely fellow he has turned into ,He and Vicki have been together since they were at school ,see school picture .At first it had to be kept a secret,as Vicki was thirteen ,and Stuart sixteen ,and Vicki's Dad may not have approved !Well Vicki will be eighteen this year ,and Stuart twenty one ,and they are still together ,they are engaged now and as you can see a lovely couple .As I said Stuart has turned into a lovely man ,I'm so proud he is my Grandson ,and because of that he deserves the best and yes thats our Vicki ,she is special too .Vicki's Dad and Stu are now the best of Buddies !So it looks as though ,I should start saving for my hat .

After the sad news yesterday, about the passing of Gene Pitney ,he has been to Peterborough a number of tines Maurice and his brother Mike went to see him at the Embassy.Particularly sad for fellow journaler  Freda ,of Freda's Diary's ,she was a personnal friend ,pop over for a look ,check my side bar .Watching Loose Women today ,another old favourite Neil Sedaka ,was the guest on that show ,he was telling us he has been with his wife since he was sixteen ,now fourty four years ,reminded me off our young couple !'Love will keep us together ', 'Tra la la lol la Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen ' ,memorable people he's performed with ,he says were, for him~Barbara Striesand ,Elton John and his three year old Grandaughters Charlotte and Amanda !!

I quite like the programme Loose Women, the wit and humour ,is so typical of any bunch of like minded  women together ,Reminds me very much of when I    was working ,once a month we had a team brief, and the managers, from nine courts ,all sheltered housing, would meet ,You can be very isolated on your own court with the day to day business of looking after the needs of the elderly some times demanding residents ,so it was a good excuse to get together and share experiances ,and let our hair down sometimes it became quite hilariuos ,and girly, I used to feel sorry for poor Rebecca ,the team leader ,keeping the meeting on track, and some sort of order .

I also watched a bit of Countdown ,because I like to hear Pam Ayres poem for the day ,she is funny ?Did you see it today Eve ?Carole Vorderman ,had taken off her nighty and was wearing a dress, without sleeves, another reason not to like her !she's got young arm's !no turkey flaps when she reaches up to put the letters on the board !Grrr .

Well I think thats me for today folks ,I have to tear myself away and go and make some dinner ......Down Dooby Down Down Down ,Breaking up is harrrd to do !             But I'm getting hungry lol     With Lots of Love

 Thankyou Donna for this signature

Aah Jan, they're lovely photo's ~ a very handsome couple. Send them my congratulations !! Love the "save the date" card ~ very modern :-)
I only have Weds off and don't watch a lot of telly but have seen, and I do like, Loose Women. Can't say the same for Countdown though. I really do not like Carol Vordeman one bit ~ don't know why, she just irritates the life out of me !!!
Jan, I wonder could you help me out? If I'm on your alerts, could you let me know if you're getting them please? Will be doing another entry sometime this evening. Many thank you's ~XX~
take care, hugs ~x Debbie x~

Hi Jan, what a lovely young couple they are.  I wish them a long and happy life together.  No wonder you are so proud of Stuart, he looks a smashing young man.  I was sad to hear about Gene Pitney, I always loved his unique voice and his very memorable song.  I also like Neil Sedaka and we have a couple of LP`s of his though we don`t have a turntable anymore to play them on.  Why don`t we have what I call `great` songs anymore?  I think most of them are cover versions because not many singers can write their own songs these days!  I was listening to Pam Ayres a couple of weeks ago on Parky`s radio show.  She was really funny and entertaining. :o)

Ah Bless em! They are great and do make a lovely couple. We are going on our first ever holiday abroad with stu and vic in about 7 weeks time but they won't take us on their honeymoon with them.  I just don't think it's fair that they don't want Auntie Kate with em! Love to you all.

I am catching up with everyone today. I am sorry I have neglected your journal as it is so interesting. I was a fan of Gene Pitney too but what a wonderful way to go, doing what he liked best on tour singing. Love Conniex I do not get wireless alert on your journal. I do not know why.

Hi Jan,

Love your journal, it reminds me of my youth and I have to say that I am very pleased that the young sweethearts are still together and that you may soon have to purchase an new hat soon.

For me, your journal makes me smile too and who cares is things begin to flap and sag about but I admit to looking in the mirror, now and again, and thinking is that really me.

More please, keep the blogs coming.

NB.

It is very sad to find out that Mr Pitney, a wonderful singer from my youth, has passed away and thank you for giving him a mention he was a wonderful singer and has given so much pleasue, including to my family and I, to so many; he will be a sad loss.

John.
