Happy Birthday Son xx

Fourty six years ago today, I became a Mum for the first time .Yes today is my first born son's birthday ,and the picture is at his Christening ,a little 'snap ' showing four generations ,my Granny .her son my Dad ,me and my new baby Mark ,I was nineteen and so innocent ,I had woken up in the morning with a back ache ,but as I understood the pain should be in your tummy(I'd only learned a few weeks prior that you have water ,that would break ! ! ),I tried to ignore it but ,when it got worse Mick went up to the phone box and rang the Maternity hospital ,where he was told to bring me in !We hadnt got a car ,but Micks best mans Brother was on his way into work so gave us a lift ! After I'd been admitted ,Mick was told 'Off you go you can ring up later ' thats how it was then ,how things have changed ,I was having a baby scared stiff didnt know what was happening ,Mick went to the football match !He rang from the pub were they were having a prematch drink ,to learn he had a son .When he came to see me in the evening ,he was so pleased as was all the family ,first grandchild for my Mum and Dad ,Mick had six brothers and three sisters and only his eldest sister had a boy ,the rest had girls ,So our baby was special of course ,to carry on the line ,though Mark married late and hasnt got any children ,he would have made a lovely Dad .He was always a shy senisitive boy ,and my support for many years,we used to say Mark is quiet ,because as his brother and sisters came along he couldnt get a word in edge ways lol ,He married Chrissy six years ago, and it is so nice, we see lots of them and they visit most weekends ,I rang him this morning and wished him Happy Birthday ,they are going to Truckfest ,and because Maurice is at work ,admonished me for not joining them ,well I've been before and there is only so many times you want to see these marvelous vehicles ......So here we are the end of April ,and this months  batch of Birthdays and aniversarys ,when you have a big family there is always some one celebrating something ,and May has a number of dates to be remembered too .  Have a blessed Sunday every one

With love from

Happy Birthday to Mark. Your pictures are great. Yes, I remember when Dad's or any other family member could be in the delivery room. I am glad they allow it now. Hope you have a great day!, Helen

Happy Birthday to Mark :o)  Look at you with yer nice trim figure after having him am jealous LOL...Although i knew waters break it wasn't until i had mikey that i knew what it meant LOL...with kerry and garath mine were broken for me in hossy...Just a few days before i had mikey me and a friend were saying only way we'd know it happened was if it poured down our legs or we wet the bed...Low and behold mine broke big time and the bed was soaked...mortified at the time but funny looking back :o) With mikey i had backache and midwives were adament it wasn't contractions, a few mins after he was born they said i had contractions after all but only in my back <sheesh> When little sis had her eldest she was same and i insisted to her midwives that she was having contractions...they said nopes and then she got told same DUH!!!   Caff xxx

Yes Happy Birthday to Mark !  I'm not too far behind you...my oldest, daughter Julie (Jools) will be 45 in December. And you are right about not knowing what to expect.  The doctors in those days told us nothing. I wasn't even given any books to read on what to expect.  Thankfully things have changed, the hospital where I work has all sorts of classes, (I've always wondered what the "Labor Coping Skills" class was like) including a class just for the new dad and one for the new grandparents.  Again, Mark..Happy Birthday and may you have many more.   Linda in Washington state

Reminds me of a time when my water broke - just yesterday in fact. I had to cut a piece off the hose where it was leaking and refit the connector. (Oh, I'm such a wag tonight.)
Happy Birthday Mark.

You certainly had a baby boom in the month of April in your family.  Isn't it so nice, though, to celebrate a wonderful occasion in J-Land instead of all the tragedy and illness that seems to run rampant.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mark!  Love the old picture you put up.  I'm just in love with old photos.  HUGS   Chris

Hi Jan!

Happy Birthday to your first born!  Yes, I had that backache too, didn't know what it meant either.  I went traipsing all over the base that day!  My mother didn't tell me a lot. I did on the job training my whole life. LOL  I love generation photos. I just sit and compare faces to see how much they look alike.  You guys really do look alike!  Glad your Mark is wonderful.

Big Hugs!
Darlene

Im late commenting Jan because Ive been celebrating a birthday too! Hubby birthday is exactly the same day as Marks!Mark is a typical Taurean Jan. . .they love soltitute . . the Taurus child loves to play alone. . .they are sensitive and hate a joke pulled on them and can explode with anger when pushed too far.Often they  are shy and this can come across as arrogance in new social setting, they are loyal to a close knit set of friends and they like consistency and set routines.A lot of Taureans love outdoor work like farming. . .does this sound like your Mark?Hope he had a great birthday !!
