Countdown to Easter

Another busy weekend ,in the countdown to Easter ,not only us ,You will see Donna has been busy ,making these lovely Faberge' type eggs to share arent they lovely ?

You will see also the  Fire Surround is now finished ,Maurice came home from work on Friday morning ,slept until lunch time then ,got the fire surround complete ready to paint ,It was done on Saturday evening ready for me to play around ,with the twig vase ,I have added more of the spikey sticks since the picture was taken ,the vase was a find ,from a gift shop in Huntingdon ,just the shape we wanted ,its a dusky yellow colour fading to green at the base .Eventually we will buy an Electric fire ,Maurice has taken that into consideration with his measurements ,but meanwhile I like the arrangement as it is ,just need some candlesticks or some thing,to go either side the clock ,and cant decide if the mirror should go above it , Oh the decisions !and have threatened no letters etc stuffed behind things on the shelf !somewhere nice to display our Easter cards/card though  !

I have been up since  five fourty five ,the alarm went off but not very loud and though I heard it Maurice didnt so ,I woke him ,a bit later than usual ,so with the ensuing panic I didnt get back to sleep ,he couldnt find his tie !!!it was where it should be ,you know the sort of stuff lol . I got up when he went and put the computer on and read e-mails and answered them ,sorted out the pics for this entry. Thats not to say I wont have fourty winks later !

I have some ironing to do ,and some washing ,its never ending ,we are either very clean or very dirty ,cant decide which .I am looking forward to the second part of 'The Ghost Boat' with David Jason  this evening ,he is so versatile ,does any one remember him in the Lost Regiment from Sandringham ?I would love to see that again .

Well I hope the beginning  of the week gets off to a good start for you all ..........With Love from

Hi Jan, the early bird LOL Your fireplace looks great ~ I think candles would look lovely either side, and if it were me ~ I'd have the mirror above too :-) I'm off to work at 9.10 so will go now, have a great day. Not too much housework though ;-)
lotsa love ~x Debbie x~

Hi Jan....Maurice did a wonderful job with that fireplace.   You are so artistic with that arrangement of spikey sticks.  Just a couple of smartees, I'd say.  Have a good week.      Dawn

The fireplace looks lovely.

My squirrel corner needs a big sort out. Unfortunately it's  a corner that you can't really see, unless you go there, so it is a huge temptation to bung all the post that I think I should keep but don't know why.

I'm looking forward to the next part of Ghost Boat, although I don't know why I started watching it when I'm waiting for word of when my son is going to return on his submarine!

Fire place looks wonderful and I love your twiggy arrangement.  I am looking forward to part two of The Ghostship as well, an unusual sort of things for Jason but he is the one that got the project onto our screens.  Yes, I do remember him in the Sandringham thing and I would like to see it again as well.

Hello Jan
Very nice fireplace - clever Maurice!    If you do place candlesticks there don't have them larger than your lovely clock, be patient and wait till you see the right thing !   or maybe to matching statuetts.....

Hi Jan!

You guys did a lovely job on the fireplace. Mind you I'm not an artsy person, but what about two small vases with sticks.  Not fanned out like the big one, just  small little bundles?  Yes, it's hard not to stick stuff behind our pretties! LOL

We have Deal or No Deal here in the states too.  I thought it was just a local show at first, and didn't look that appealing. But it's turned out to be a really fun show!

It's not the asst mgr that's giving me grief, she's just the one that has to deliver the bad news.  It's another teller; she gives me good advice....... if only she just didn't feel she had to tattle!

I got caught up on your entries.  You keep me laughing!  :) Your grandson and little fiance make such a cute couple! It's always so nice to see our kids turn out great!

Take Care!

Jan..

Yaaaay!  I made it to your journal, and have now put you on alert!!  Thanks for visiting mine, and leaving a comment!

I am so thrilled to have so many JLanders from England, Scotland and Ireland, reading my journal and sharing theirs with me!  I am so honored to be sharing your life, and mine with you.  I absolutely adore the United Kingdom, and would love to visit there someday.  It's my goal!  I will do it!  Count on it! lol

You will have to pardon my ignorance,  if I ask you questions when you talk about things that are only known by the English, but I am an inquisitive soul, and I do love to learn new things! :)

Thanks again for the link, Jan!  I'll be back!! :)

Maurice has done a grand job, it looks brilliant for summer and when the fire is fitted, very cosy for winter.  Sit and ponder on what you want next to the clock and then browse :).....that's part of the fun in decorating to the look that you want. Rache
