Turn it off !

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE

So now we are into March ,and like all of you I'm wondering where this couple of months have gone ,one minute we're celebrating Christmas and the New Year ,then wham here it is March ,it was such a lovely day yesterday ,and today ,and if you could find a sheltered spot it was quite Spring like yesterday ,so I suppose you could say March came in like a lamb! which does'nt bode well for the end of the month ,but we will have to wait and see .

Yesterday I went to Peterborough, I'd had an invitation to an Energy Efficiancy training day,(the company I worked for had promoted it )Started at ten am ,with lunch and went on till three thirty, they provided me with taxi's both ways ,so off I went ,and though to be honest !I was prepared to be bored ,I quite enjoyed it ,in the main what they told us was common sense .

Here is one of the handouts ,told you it was mainly common sense ,Although I must admitt we learned about global warming and how we can save our planet ,then we were advised to check if the lecy and gas companys  is the best for us in our area !Various other aspects on how to save money and the environment .

I met some nice people,One girl Jay ,who was home educating her daughter ,was particularly interesting giving her views on why she does that ,and amazingly how many other familys are doing it too ,she told Barbara and I (another friend I made )that she is lactose intolerent  as well as a vegetarian ,so we were all discussing recipes ,Barbara saying she couldnt live without meat so it all made for lively discussion ,and so the breaks we took were interesting as well ,Barbara and I swapped phone numbers and plan to keep in touch,We shared a similar sense of humour (whappy )and she kept saying she could'nt believe my age (I like all that!lol )she was wearing a cheeky baker boy cap,I asked her had she seen The Marks and Sencers add with Twiggy, and a model called Erin wearing a very sassy Trilby hat ,in back and white dog tooth ,she 'yes get ,get it ' it would suit you !Mmm would I wear it though?, I do like it !I still have vouchers from Christmas and B/day ,oh we'll see lol ..........So thats it for today  ,with love From

Hi Jan, thanks for a really good entry, we all should try to do out bit for the environment as well as saving ourselves some dosh.  I must admit I do try to save money where I can, ie I always have showers, I never use a 60 wash and Jimk doesn`t like leaving the TV on standby.  I must try harder though!  I`m glad you enjoyed the couse and how nice to have made a new friend, especially one who tells you that you don`t look your age.  Everyone needs a friend like that...lol! :o)

Thanks for the saving tips but as you said they are just common sense anyway!! Dripping taps would drive me nuts.  Nice to meet new people especially when you get on really well with them.   Hmm, must watch the Marks ad re the hat...have a good day.

Good tips though most are common sense.  I do not leave the t.v. on standby.  They say you are supposed to unplug things hhmm - I do not feel like re-programming the video recorder every day!  They forgot about putting a brick in the toilet cistern to cut down on water!

Hello Janet, glad you had a good day. We always try to turn the lights out when we are not in a room - the kids are terrible for leaving lights on!!! Your picture didnt come out so I couldnt see your handout. Love Laine xxxx
