And what is the reason for this out burst ?..... "No body likes me,everybody ,hates me ! I'm going into the garden to eat worms " ! ......One day in February ,my hit counter that had reached 5000,disappeared ,OK! remember 5000,we'll start again ...gets up to 786 and its gone again,its gets to 10 ,I e-mail the ever patient Jeannette who gives me the link to a hit counter site ,I enroll ,do everything it tells me ,am going to put it in the about me section ,edit defunct hit counter ,go in to about me ,to paste new hit counter ,got told I'm using to many letters ,delete the blurb about me!in that section ,and managed to delete the whole bally lot ! and its not even the Ides of March yet ! Oh and my bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb sticks ,so every time I use a bbbbbbbbbbbbbbb,I have to delete them lol .
The last of Maurices three nights tonight ,so tonight it will be me and our Scooby ,and old Jack Frost ,in a 'Touch of Frost ',they are all repeats ,but never mind ,Then he will be off work taking the last of his holidays before the end of March ,Maurice that is not Jack Frost !! Fixing Your Counter
My hit counter has reset itself...how do i fix this??
1. Open Notepad and create a "txt" file that has the number of Hits you had in it eg 2400 and save this file giving it any name you like.
2. Go to you your journal and remove the Hit Counter.
3. Upload the "txt" file you created to your space via File Manager AOL Hometown : File Manager
4. Browse the files. Find the file called .odometer.nameofyourjournal
5. Delete this file via the Change button
6. Rename the txt file you uploaded as .odometer.nameofyourjournal.
7. Note the "dots" are vital as is getting the name of your journal exactly right - especially the capitals or lack of them as the case may be.
8. Go back to your journal and switch the counter back on and everything will be fixed.

Hi Jan, do what I did and put my hit counter on holiday, lol...........see my all about me bit!! That graphic was me yesterday....a nightmare afternoon and I am still feeling lousy!!
Oh my that is such a scary picture.... :) My counter has changed at least 3 times now. I guess when it hits a certain number it can't count any higher. maybe aol should look for a new counting machine. Hope your having a nice day too, Sandra

My counter is at 246 right now...It was well over 3 thousand a few weeks ago. This is the way I look at it; it gets to 10,000 and then it starts all over at 1 again. LOL Now is that positive or what ? Linda in Washington state
I was almost to 30,000 hits (took more than two years to get there) and one day *POOF*...my counter was back to zero! I didn't even bother re-setting it...I refuse to be "counter obsessed" any more!!! JAE

Hi Jan, I had to smile the graphic of that crazy lady! Would you mind if I snag it please? When I first tried to put that counter in my All About Me section I had one helluva job trying to get it right. Thankfully I got there in the end and all because AOL ate my hitscounter! Even your evening watching `Frostie`. :o))

I feel about like the graphic lady with my hit counters also. I put in a new one and noticed the today the counter was in the millions instead of the thousands so I figued out what is was supposed to be and went back to the aol's counter. Helen
Not sure what site you're using, but if you are using an html code you want to make sure it starts exactly where everything ends. Sometimes the about me section puts in a ton of empty space and then thinks it has characters there. Mine worked fine :)
