Scooby

Picture taken from the Crufts dog show site .     Crufts,is a big dog show held yearly and is currently at the National Exhibition Centre in  Birmingham. We were watching Deal or no Deal last evening ,when a friend rang up to say ,A dog like your Scooby's on Crufts ,well we'd just come to a gripping part of the show so couldnt check ,so this morning I looked it up on the 'net and found the above picture ,does'nt he look like Scooby ?and reading about the characteristics of the Shar pei ,in the same piece ,could be describing him !

As many of you know we got him from Woodgreen animal shelter ,in Godmanchester ,Nr Huntingdon,in November 04 ,and he was about 16 months then ...he was very insecure ,but soon learned to trust us ,is very loyal to us ,,but still ,though not as bad, now has problems being home alone .We suspect he was left for long periods of time when he was quite young,at times he's been difficult to train! he has a healthy appetite ,but cant be bought by treats ,making training difficult ,however we think we are getting there ,he is very strong ,so with my dodgy back ,unfortunately I cant walk him on my own,but he does'nt hold that against me and is quite happy ,sitting beside me ,In fact he gets quite alot of excercise trotting up and down the hall from either lounge or kitchen,or where ever I'm at, when he hears the ping to tell me I have an alert, even if he's asleep he knows we'er off to the study to the computer lol ...and he can tell me when Maurice is nearly home long before its possible to hear a car engine, the bane of his life is a lovely big ginger cat ,who sits in next doors garden ,totally ignoring him in that regal way cats have !! He loves the car ,Maurice has a Shogun ,so Scoobs sits there in his seat behind me lord of all he surveys ,.................Have a very blessed Sunday everyone ,with love from Jan and Scooby xxx

Oh yes and bye bye from Kates Maddy ,better not leave her out !

He is a lovely dog. Makes me wonder what has caught his eye on the first picture. Do you read Donna's ( Mosie) journal? She is using something to train her new dog to mind her when she takes her for walk. Scroll down to were Sadie is wearing it. Helen

Hi Jan, our pets can be as challenging as some children.  I have herard that there is a medication that can be given for the seperation anxiety that some dogs suffer from.  I had a co-worker who had the same problem and the meds worked wonders.  Scooby looks like a lovely dog and I know he brings you both a lot of joy.  Linda in sunny (right this minute anyway) Washington

Hi Jan,  Scooby is a gorgeous looking dog, both Jim and I love Shar-Pei`s and used to know a woman who had one called Reg.  He was called that because her hubby was going to buy a personalised car number plate but bought the dog instead with the money.  Hence calling him Reg...lol!  Are you going to watch Crufts Best in Show tonight? :o)

Loved the photo's of Scooby and your Grandson. We watch the dog shows, I make a huge bowl of popcorn...and the dogs and I share it and watch the show. LOL! It's fun to see the dogs react when the resident stray cat walks across the stage, at the Madison Square Garden.   ~Deborah
