On the subject of weddings !

Can you imagine how I felt when I saw this lovely graphic that  Donna made ?This is Stourhead gardens in Wiltshire .The house was built and the gardens started in 1714 by Henry Hoare of the well known banking family .The 'Temple' that can be seen in Donna's picture is a replica ,though smaller of the Pantheon in Rome .

To visit Stourhead, you first pass the Inn 'The Spread Eagle' ,a hosteliery, some two hundred years old ,now suitably refurnished ,where the wedding reception was held ,Down a gentle slope to the little Church where Derek and Tricia got married ,going on down the path and round to your right its possible to walk right round the gardens, taking in such things as the temple of Flora, on  then a grotto, with a spar water spring ,right on to the opposite side of the lake we have a rest at the Temple and look at the view from the other end ,Its a Beautiful place and I would recommend anyone in the area to visit ,as I have numerous times ,its lovely in spring time (Derek got married in May ),but Ive been there when its been frosty too ,and its still a magic place.

Tricias Mother and Father lived  in a little place called Maiden Bradley at that time and the church was their  parish church ,all of Dereks three boys were christened there ,a truly lovely lovely area of this lovely country of ours .We all had a lovely day ,nearly eighteen years ago,and rather than all go down in seperate cars ,I organised transport for I think there was twenty of us ,the coach company promised a mini bus ,but on the day ,a great big coach turned up ,imagine the people the other end as our 'bus' pulls up with all Dereks relations ,pouring off it ,We travelled more comfortably nearly having a seat each ,that too was the first time I saw Stone Henge ,What a lovely day !and another lovely wedding ......

And another signature, from dear Sandra ,I was able to use! Thankyou x

Lovely pics!!! I can't wait for the 'official' photos of Angela & Brian's day, we had a special one done with just Angela, Kevin, Alfie, their Dad and Me which I thought would be a special one for posterity.....the one and only other time we would all be photographed together, I think, since our divorce 20 years ago!!

Wow! That certainly was a blast from the past. I hadn't seen those photos for ages. At the time we all thought that we looked the bees' knees. Look at us now ah! The scenery is still lovely though. It must be the week for weddings - the wedding on saturday was gorgeous and both joan and her daughter looked absolutely beautiful. I remember mum and myself having pictures taken together and will now have to dig those out. Been married 16 years this April and can still remember the happy day.
