Hopeful ever

Like every one else who has been experiencing the winter ills ,Im finding it difficult to motivate myself ,in a constuctive manner ,of late I've been feeling very lethargic/lazy ?Really fed up with myself ,which is a symptom of this silly bug I seem to have been nurturing for the last week ,Well !   Enough !......Its cold out !So?..... its February !The positive thing is the sun is shining ,there are snowdrops in the garden ,so we must be going into spring ,when the washer has finished I shall hang out the white shirts ,as there is also some wind ,so once they are dry ,I can have a whinge about the ironing ,life gets tedious donit ?Hey do you remember that song ........".Theres a mouse a nawing at the pantry door,he's been there now for a month or more ,when he gets in there he's gonna be sore ........there aint a darn thing in there "!!Oh they dont write songs like they used to !

So what have I been doing whilst I've been frail and feeble ?Keeping on top of the chores     just ! I have been reading    of course !And Ive picked up the stitches on the rib of the on the border of the cardi' I've been making since August ,its one of those with a roundy front ,and the border is done in two parts on a circular needle (I do set myself some tasks ),only a few more rows and it'll be done .

The picture I started with is of course one of Donna's making me think of fishing trips in the summer ,and days by the sea ,lovely thought .

To night on BBC2,its" Who do you think you are" ,one of my favourites at the minute ,and tonight features ~ Jane Horrocks,Jane is to dicover she is related to the wealthy mill owner John Horrocks ,the 'Cotton King' of Lancashire.I can remember the Horrocks label on bedding and towels .

Well everyone have a good day .

I know the feeling of the winter ills, about time winter was over, seeems to have lingered on longer than any other year this time!!  Feels like a beautiful spring day today, i have opened all the upstairs windows and have the back door wide open it's that warm, hope it keeps this up!

Your graphic is lovely it looks so calm and peaceful....Hope that bug you have soon goes away, a week is quite long enough to nurture something you don't want...Still waiting to see the Snowdrops here, they are late as we normally have them about at the end of January.
Must let us see a picture of the Cardie when you finish it...Thanks for the reminder "Who do you think you are" must not miss it as I find it really enjoyable ...Ally

Nice to know you have been keeping yourself occupied.  Yes, I love the tracing the ancestors. Stephen Fry made me cry and I had to laugh at Julian Clary's Mum last week saying she hoped there would be no foreigners on it.  Fascinating programme.

Hi Jan, those nasty winter blues are almost as contagious as the viruses that we all seem to have been suffering from.  We really need some sunshine and warmer weathwer to chase away miserable thoughts..hehe!  I love the graphic, it really looks like February.  I hung some washing out today and got it dry, unusual for the time of year.  :o)

We all get the winter blues which make us want to hibernate!! I hope you can shake off your bug. You reminded me that I started knitting an Aran sweater about two years ago, never did finish it!! I think I made the back and one sleeve!! I remember the Horrocks label on my bedding and towels, they were always good quality. Jeannette.

Hope your feeling better soon, Jan. Would like to see the cardi, when its finished. My last project on circular needles was an afghan, took months to do....20 years ago. lol. Prefer to crochet, its faster. The pretty picture, makes me yearn for someplace warm, and sunny.               ~Deborah
