Hobbling along...

I know I often go longer than a week ,between entry’s, but this time I have been unable to sit at the commuter for any length, because I hurt my back ,You remember I told you I washed the lounge curtains ,a week last Thursday, I stood on a sturdy low table,to put them back up again ,getting down ,the dog was just where I needed to land ,so I jumped out of her way ,ouch !Didn’t appear to be any ill effects so I made myself a cuppa and sat and admired my clean windows and curtains , Friday was fine ,I told you Kate and Chrissie came over we went up to town in the car an browsed the shops up there ,

Then Saturday,  When I did my last entry telling you I was going to take my trolley and, get some veggies and look for any books in the second hand book shop, whilst in there I picked up a box of books to see what goodies were hiding underneath BIG MISTAKE, during the 18 12 overture someone and.with a machete, no I’m exaggerating, my back went into spasm, how I managed to get home I don’t know, but I did,

Sunday morning still in pain I am walking round the furniture rang Chrissie to see if I could borrow her late Mums Walking stick ,she and Mark brought it over for me Sunday afternoon,Monday Maurice took me to the Editorial group meeting ,and I managed quite well in spite of having my leg pulled ,I wasn’t so good on Tuesday night in fact I went into a major spasm ,so I had to make the decision not to go on the mystery trip ,now you know how  much I wanted to go ,but Maurice took me to the Doctors instead , I was given pain killers and muscle relaxant ,The Doc told me to exercise  heehee ?,but the tablets are making me sleep a lot ,I shall be gong back to the Docs again on Wednesday ,as I am really no better ,Sorry for all the doom and gloom folks but I wanted you to know why I haven’t been able to sit to answer all your comments ,This entry has taken ages, because  I have been taking lots of breaks and now I feel just like one of these dear little ''Rag Dolls'',,with love

Jan, I'm so sorry to hear about your back, I do hope it improves soon.
I'm pleased you were able to be at the computer long enough to show us the Lavender Blue photos, I love seeing the displays, it's just my kind of stuff and looking at them I can see that I've already got quite a bit of it! ~~ Pat http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

Hi Jan just back and so sorry to hear about your back they are such a pain in the neck when they go off. A stick is a very good idea I use one when my back goes off on one of its little turns and so handy to help you out of seat much better than getting pulled up.  Hope all is well soon. Love Joan.

Aw Jan. What a shame. I totally sympathise. I have suffered myself and also my mum just really hurt hers last week. Her holidays were this week and she managed to go, just In no more as she had a lady come to her house and used a massage technique. Maybe you should think about that or accupuncture has been highly reccommended also. Either way, I hope you get relief from all this pain. Loved the pics. Take care. Love Pam xx

I hope Kizzie appreciates the sacrifice you made Jan.
I see Lavender Blue are letting you take pics inside now as well as the window display. They must be enjoying the extra trade that comes their way with your advertising. ;O)
They do a good job though, that's for sure.

Hope the back is better soon M'dear. Shame you missed the mystery trip.

Dear Jan,  There is nothing worse than back pain of that I am sure...I know this so well...also there is so little that seems to be able to be done. It is something that eventually eases itself..how long it takes...is the big question...lets hope in your case it won't be too long before you feel more easy.  Love sybil xx

Jan, So sorry to her about your back.  I've been thru back problems too, so I feel your pain.  I love Lavender Blue and I'm so glad you shared more pictures.  There's some little shops down in the little town of Sumner (about 10 miles from me) that look like that inside. So much neat stuff.  There's one called Simple Tidings and every once in awhile I go down and get some lavendar laundry soap for my sheets & towels. Well, I hope the doctor gets your back squared away soon.  Take care...Linda in Washington state

A pulled back is total misery and seems to happen so easy.  That's a shame you missed your mystery trip.  I enjoyed your pictures from Lavender Blue so much, as always.  Take care and don't worry about the journals.  I'm behind as can be also.  I've had shingles for the past week which finally seem to be getting under control.  Love xx Chris

Oh Jan, I do feel for you, how easily these things can happen, and I have been in your position a few times myself.  So painful, frustrating and disabling.  I don't know what to suggest as it seems that only time can get you better.  But hoping it is sooner rather than later.  Lovely pics of Lavender Blue, have to go to the mobile scan unit tomorrow, so will take a peek whilst I'm there.  Having to go on the bus now I'm unable to drive, the bus service is the pits, isn't it? :-(

take care
love Freda

Oh Jan, your poor thing.  I hope your back is getting better now.  Back pain can be awful and I hope you won`t have to use that walking stick much longer.  It`s so easy to put your back out, sometimes just a false move will do it.  Take care and thanks for the comment on my journal. :o)

I have been on all fours with back pain Jan and know just what you are going through.  Both you and 'Our Kate' are going through the wars at the moment...aren't you?
I hope rest helps it.   You will be able to exercise eventually.  Don't go rushing it just yet.
Take care,
Hugs

Hi Jan - you poor girlie, fancy doing that to your back.   It sounds funny for the Doc to say exercise when you are in pain, but it does help - just doing a bit of housework will help.   Take care, i am thinking of you.... and Lavender Blue looks fab, i'd spend a fortune in there !

sorry to hear  jan.as someone who has had  back trouble for the past  16 years or so,had  a  disc removed,  i  really do sympathise.   you take care,  if  it seizes up  get in the "recovery"  position for back trouble, physio taught  me it.lay on back gently  bring you legs up,until your heels  are as close  to your  bottom (being  polite  see, lol ) as you can get them.     and  relax.       pain will ease.  hope you better  soon, take care love mort  xxx

Jan sure hope you are better by now. I know we just hate to give up and go to the doctor and to even write about what ails us. Well guess you can at least sit and enjoy looking at your clean curtains. Paula

I, on the other hand, only have a nasty case of plantar fascitis. But for the first few minutes every morning after I wake up, I'm hobbling so much you'd think I was auditioning for the part of Brokeback Mountain.

OW! I can relate to your pain.  Feel better soon.  -Karen

Hope your back is feeling better now, Jan.  I wouldn't wish back pain on anyone, especially if the nerves are involved and it sounds like yours might be.

Blessings to you and prayers for a speedy recovery!
