Rainy day shopping ...
Hi there here I am again, I have caught up with all your lovely entries, so now… shall I do an entry? Or shall I do the ironing?... .Hmm guess what I decided?
As ever at this time of year such a lot to do and not enough time I still have loads of cards to write, though the ones that have to go abroad have gone ,just the rest to do ,and the final post for second class mail is next Monday , I can now put up my decorations ,little tradition of mine ,It is my second son Derek’s forty sixth birthday today ,I would never put up the trimmings until he had had his birthday ,So that his special day didn’t get confused with Christmas ,
With all my love a very Happy Birthday son.
May be you would prefer this to the cake ....
As I mentioned I found another one of the Twelve days of Christmas windows, this was in a children’s wear, shop window .Eleven Pipers Piping. It was pouring with rain on the day I took the picture; you either get reflections or raindrops!
Last Wednesday ,I went to the over sixties Christmas party, we had lots of lovely food and fun .We were again served by the gentleman of the local Rotary club, amongst them was Richard who I worked with when I first left school, and entertained by the choral society, They entertained us with many lovely Christmassy songs and we all joined to sing carols, Incidentally I learned that the club has been running for fifty eight years,Have a lovely day everyone ,with love from

A son with a December birthday, your planning was almost as bad as mine - Sam was born on 20th December!!
Loved the pics...you always make me homesick but in a good way!
happy birthday to your son who is the same age as me...;-)

Happy Birthday to Derek. Loved the two photos. The high street looks so quiet and peaceful but very pretty and I liked the shop window display. I still feel bad about not sending cards overseas this year but it was just too expensive.

I love the theme of the 12 days of Christmas. It is a nice touch to the window displays. It is raining here today. I've still not got my cards in the mail. I'm hoping they will be by tomorrow. It would be hard having a birthday so close to Christmas. Nice that you wait til after your son's birthday. It makes both ocassions more special that way. Hope you have a great day. 'On Ya' - ma
Lovely entry Jan, makes me feel comfortable. I haven't sent my cards off yet, they're mostly written, but I'm printing photos to go off with some. Sloooow down, is how I feel about Christmas. a fortnight to go, chill out..............

I'm with you....leave the ironing for later! LOL! I enjoyed your photos. It looks like it was a fun event for everyone! When I am 60 I hope that I find a club like that to join. Heck, I'd join one at 50!! I think it's good to get out and see your friends like that.
Your town looks so pretty! Nice and Chrismassy! I sure wish I could come see your city someday.
Have a great day today.
Hugs..Pam
I bet you can't get pictures of all twelve days before the 25th. Now there's a challenge for you.

Oh Jan, you did make me smile with this lovely entry. Loved seeing all the pictures of the Rotary dinner and also of the rainy streets. I hope that Derek had a lovely birthday. I think I would have chosen to do an entry rather than ironing as well! But then, I am really lucky as Todd does all our ironing! Yes, I am blessed, and I know it! :-)
love,
Marie

Wow Jan, we were prego at the same time. My daughter Julie was 46 on December 4th. I did get your lovely card, thank you so much! I think your weather is about the same as ours...wet, cold, freezing, sunny, wet & cold. Linda in Washington state
Jan - you didn't mention that that street scene used to be a river scene! I do believe the river still runs beneath it. Wonder if there are any old photos around, as I have never seen when that street was a river.
I admit to staying in when the weather is cold and miserable - I'm a real hibernater!
Your Christmas lunch looks like fun - the waiters look like they might break into song ;-)
Wishing Jan and all of her readers a happy stress free Christmas!
Love Freda
We have our Christmas Lunch at school next Wednesday. The staff serve the children. They have the usual christmas turkey and trimmings with crackers.
We usually clear nearly as much food of the floor as got eaten! Lol.
Merry Christmas,
Linda.x
