Good morning a lovely sunny day here but very windy and cold,I have just been out, to hang out the washing ,and look who wants to go out again !

Here we are the first of December ,and the beginning of Advent
I bought Maurice a calendar ,to open through Advent as the kids do ,but was pleased to read the word advent wasnt on this calender, doesnt lend it self to the Simpson image does it ? ,or is it not PC to talk about Advent now ? (I dont much care for the Simpsons but he loves them )
Any way as I promised I posted the latest pictures of the Lavender Blue window ,I was a bit dissapointed to see all the reflections again ,however I have put all the ones I took on here so you will get the idea of how lovely it looks ,and then as I was walking home....What a bonus , I discovered the Vets window had been decorated ,and the Antique shop too ,I am wondering if we have theme going on through the town ,'The twelve days of Christmas' ,I will need to go on a reccy to see if I can discover more ,Thats all for today. Jan, I love your pictures of Lavender Blue - I hope you are on comission! I found a similar shop in Northampton and I live looking in the window. The Simpsons are awesome! Forget P.C. keep talking about Advent, its a fres country.

It is very cold here this morning and WINDY. There is a storm coming our way...
I'd love to visit that shop for sure. It looks so inviting. We still do Advent here and have my wreath with 4 candles on the dining room table to light as we progress through the 4 weeks of preparation time for Christmas. I gave all of my children a calendar to use as they count down the days til the 25th. The grand'babes' always enjoy it too! Your little Kizzee is such a delight ! 'On Ya' -ma

Your going to have to knit Kizzie a jumper for when she pops out for an 'investigation around the garden' this winter. brrrr! Does she not feel the cold?
Loved Lavender Bluue's windows again. This time its a cooler wintery look. Quite sparkly like frost...yes?
Well done the Vets and the Antique shop. Off you go when you get wrapped up well and lets know if there is a theme trhoughout the town.

I loved all your pictures, especially the lavendar blue shop and your home, I bet some litle girl is wishing for the doll for Christmas. I know thats what I would like if I were little again. :) lucky you to be able to hang your wash today. we are going to be getting lots of snow and its very dark and dreary here this morning, not to mention how cold it is too. take care......

It looks as if the window has a lot of gold and white in it. It is beautifil. Kizzy looks so cute wanting to go outside. Both of ours have been running in and out this morning. I gave them each a little bone treat thing. Patches ate hers and Daisy Mae went outside and hid hers. I saw Patches watching her then in a minute Patches went and found where she had hid it and preceded to eat it while Daisy looked on LOL. Now they are wrestling. I love your little Lavender Blue shop Jan, it`s so individual which makes a refreshing charge from the boring chain stores. You wouldn`t know it`s Christmas in our town because the council seem more PC than usual, the grotto has no Father Christmas and there`s no mention of it anywhere. :o(

As you know haven't been up for much walking lately lol so haven't noticed the windows in town yet. Will have to go take a look on Monday, the Windmill Bakery usually join in too and they all should be done by next weekend I think that's when the lights go on, wanna join me down there to see it? lol.

Lavender Blue looks like a wonderful shop. I don't know of anything like it here in Colorado except maybe something in Estes Park. It looks so green in your yard.

I noticed that most English people hang their laundry on the clothesline.. whereas we in America tend to use the dryer.. even on a lovely day. Is it just pure laziness on our part, or are dryers just not that popular in England? I know my mother used to hang her laundry out to dry, but she loved it when my father got her a dryer.

I know how you love the window displays at Lavender Blue. I've enjoyed them with you through your photos. The reflections may go away if you use a polarizing filter, If your camera won't accept a filter over the lens, you might get one that is a larger diameter than the lens on your camera and just hold it over your lens with your hand as you snap a picture of this window. I hope your weekend is lovely, too!

Popped into Lavender Blue Saturday and saw that they had changed the window again since your previous photos. It's like an Alladin's cave inside, too much to look at really.
There was quite a lot going on in the market place, lots of stalls, the Antique shop had a stall there and I bought a cat ornament for me and a couple of teddybear ornaments for a friend who collects them.
I am about to put out some washing on the line as it is sunny and very windy.

Lavender Blue changed the window again? This one is just as lovely. Love the white and silvery theme. LOL...my son loves the Simpsons also. Well look at our dog - She's certainly getting a pretty girl now isn't she? Only just logged onto the journal and glad to see that you all have a good time last Saturday. Loved seeing all the shop windows, especially Lavender Blue. I guess I am lucky that shop is not near me as I would spend hours and probably oodles of pounds in it!!! I love walking along the high street and looking at all the shopfront windows at this time of year. I never thought of getting Todd an advent Calender. What a good idea! Have a great week!

Tell the shops to stop cleaning thier windows, then you wouldnt get such reflections!But you can still see the displays, lovely.They used to have a huge cutout of santa and his sliegh up at the parade of shops by my home, but the kids vandalised it and so ruined it for everyone else.Shame. Beckie x

The Lavendar Blue window is lovely. They do such a nice job decorating. I cannot get over how much Kizzy has changed. She is a grown up girl! She has the cutest face and expression. Hope all your holiday plans are coming together well.
