Good morning ,lovely sunny day here in the Fens this morning, abit cool but hey it is mid September, have you noticed how the nights are drawing in it is dark just before eight o clock
Last Saturday ,Maurice's days day of ,so we decided to go into Huntingdon and over our breakfast coffee we were watching the local news on the TV a number of Air balloons were to gather at a village in Cambridge , Pidley!
Yes Pidley ......
We thought since it was on our route we might see some of them ,alas no we didnt ,We had a nice morning browsing the shops ,I was looking for books in the charity shops Maurice in the sports shop looking at fishing tackle ,We spent alot of money stocking up on toiletries ,since I have been ill ,everything has been running out ,and my roots were growing through ,so I bought a box of hair colour as well ,We also came across the copy of the Monet ,Maurice asked would I like it ,well of course yes please says I ! so that curtailed things abit ,because Maurice was carrying this big picture,so we set off for home ,We had some lunch then during the afternoon I felt sleepy so went to bed ,I was woken by Debbie ,telling Maurice get Jan ,look ,and yes I quickly got up grabbed the camera and snapped away ,the sky was full of Balloons as far as the eye could see ,so we didnt miss the balloons after all they came right over head ,and what an awesome sight in the late afternoon sunlight ,we could hear the gas purring into them , Have a lovely day every one with love from

I am not sure I would want to live at a place called Pidley! I love looking for books in charity shops, the problem is that my house is so full of books that if I buy many more there will be no room for us! I hope you are still impriving in terms of health.
Christine
Lol at Pidley, makes me want to go now. Glad you got your monet. Yes, the nights are certainly drawing in and it always seems to happen suddenly doesn't it?

Those hot air balloons are lovely. I've never seen so many in the sky at one time. Hope your day is just as blessed today! 'On Ya' - ma
We used to get a' hot air ballons and flower festival 'every year at the common, as a child the balloons would fly right over our house so close you could shout at the people and sometimes even landed in the field at the end of the street, but the stingy council panned it.The idiots. Beckie x
I love your new Monet picture Jan. It's beautiful! So are they others too there on the wall beside it.
We sometimes get the odd one or two baloons overhead and when our old dog was alive he always heard them in the distance first before us because of the gas burners' roar.
Thank you for a lovely entry. I enjoyed looking at your pictures.
Debbie does live quite near to you...doesn't she?
hugs

My neighbour came to tell me to look out the front as all these balloons were going past - dozens off them, but none came as close as yours did Jan, and yes, I thought of you snapping away and was pretty much expecting this entry ;-)
I have a small Monet print of waterlillies, yours are lovely Jan.
It is lovely and warm in the sun and I should get off the computer and go and enjoy it, I was thinking of catching up with my blog and do an entry, but that will have to wait now until the weather changes!
Hope the sun is shining on all your readers! :-D

Hi Jan, just still catching up here after my hols (blimming over 600 alerts behind) and am at home today because not too well with a bad summer cold. Glad to see you are feeling a bit better now and that you are getting out and about. Hugs, Tells x
I liked all your pcutures. You did a good job on getting those baloon shots. I don't think I would like riding in one of those. Hope you day goes well today. Hugs, Helen
Had a laugh at comment #2 not fancying living at a place called Pidley. The place I wouldn't fancy would be Chipping Sodbury or Piddletranthide. We've got a place near us called Spittal in the Street.
Those balloons might almost have come over your house just for you since you missed them at Pidley!
Angie, xx
Thanks for visiting Jan....Nice to see you!

What a wonderful surprise - Happy to hear you enjoyed your day! Hope your Today brings you a smile,
Katie
Your picture is lovely. I notice you said about second hand books from the charity shop. I used to get mine that way until i looked around car boots. You can pick some very cheap books up if you go to the local carboot sale.
I love to see the balloons there so graceful.
love and hugs

HeeHee there really are some very funny place names in the British Isles!
Hot air balloons are beautiful and eerie, especially when they roar all of a sudden.

Love the balloons :)
I've always wanted to take a hot air balloon ride, but after some recent accidents...I've changed my mind. They are lovely to look at, however. Linda in Washington state
What a treat to see hot air balloons. I love them but have never seen a bunch at one time. Hope you are feeling better. Paula
I love seeing the big ballons we only get one at a time one of the farmer's near has one and it flies over the house quite often during the summer months by the time I get my camera out its usually gone over. LOve Joan.
I'm glad you saw the balloons after all Jan, that must have been a nice surprise for you! Seeing your Monet picture reminds me that I have some Monet prints here somewhere that we bought when we visited Monet's garden about four years ago. At the time we were decorating so I kept them somewhere flat (and safe!) until we were ready to frame them....can I find them now? NO! I have a nice expanse of wall in the guest room all ready for when I come across them, we shall be decorating our smallest bedroom soon and we tend to use that for storage so my guess is that they're in there somewhere! Love, Pat http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/
Nice photos Jan. I'd like to take a ride in one of those one day.
Love the Monets too.

hope you are feeling better:) have a good week

I love air balloons! We quite often get them over head here. The dogs up at the manor house go spastic when they appear. I love the way they float silently overhead with only the sound of an occasional burst of gas. sometimes they are quite low and you can almost see the people inside. Very magical!

I love hot air balloons...They have always fascinated me...Not that you'd catch me going up in one like my older sis did...I get squeamish changing a light bulb <G> You get so many different shaped ones now too...Like there's one that is a scotsman wearing a kilt that's often at displays...Nice to hear that you managed to go out with Maurice Caff xxxxxx
:) you have a Monet...........that man knew how to paint, am envious :) am glad to see you having fun Jan. Enjoy that picture.Rache
Are those all Monet's on your wall? Lovely! I just love to watch hot air balloons. I haven't seen any in a while. Funny that you were looking for them but they found you. I've noticed the chill in the morning air and darkness is creeping in earlier and earlier. Have a wonderful weekend. Love xx Chris
