Light at the end of the tunnel !

Portmeirion    ''I wanted to show people, with a sort of light opera approach, that architecture ,could be entertaining, interesting, intriguing.could be fun.''Sir Clough Williams Ellis  Architect and creator of Portmerion

Thankyou to dear Bunny for this card you sent me ,and indeed to everyone for your cards and emails and e cards ,with all your good wishes ,plus all the comments on my last entry ,you cant imagine how much it has helped me over the last few weeks ,Thankyou from the bottom of my heart ,I found my self in a very strange place ,for a time ,a place from which you wont be getting a postcard saying ''wish you were here''!

At first ,I couldnt see the point in anything, kept asking my self ,''whats it all about?''.....but gradually as each day has gone by I have felt abit better ,not as quick as I would have liked.... but I now feel Im getting there ,I now go out to the shops again ! the first week that was an ordeal ,I even went up to our town yesterday ,with my trolley ,and was pleased to discover that a couple of the shop windows still had their displays from the previous weeks ''Fortys weekend ''(we didnt go this year ,for obvious reasons)

I feel I may be on these tablets for a while yet ,my Doctor has assured me she will be monitering me and wont pull the rug from under me,I will stop taking them when we both agree, meanwhile one day at a time !I even did some knitting the other night ,something I  hadnt done in a while ,with hind sight ,this has been creeping up on me for a while ,But Im going to beat it ,Have a blessed Sunday everyone ,I will finish this entry with the siggy my dear friend Debbie made for me ,Debbie has been so suportive to me ,so understanding ,bless you Debs

With Love

Yes, glad I was on the 'pooter' when your alert arrived, good to see you are on the mend.

I accidently missed the forties show this year, and missed all the lovely shop window displays too, so thanks for posting some of them.

Hope things continue to improve

Hi Jan, I know only too well what depression can do and how it can sneak up from behind and catch you unawares!!!! It was good to see an entry from you and that you are slowly, but surely 'getting there'. Take care my friend, my thoughts are with you as always.....much love, Joan

I`m so pleased that you are feeling better Jan, depression is a nasty illness that can`t be seen but is very real indeed. It`s good that you have a very understanding and helpful doctor to take care of you.  Take care my friend.

There's been a very interesting thread on the general news board about depression and panic attacks the last few days...Most of those who have been on anti depressants have all said 6 months minimum was what their GP's said...It was 6 months i was supposed to be on them but ended up at about 10 months due to having to get mine changed a couple of times...So pleased to hear that you have managed to go out and about :o) For some it creeps up on you and others it is sudden and out of the blue...I fell into the latter category and think you did too...Take care and just take one day at a time   {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}   Caff xxxxxxx

Glad to hear you are on the right road to recovrey i am sorry to say i am still on the wrong path and have been since Mum died 8yrs ago. So relieved to hear that you are getting out and about again.  Stay on your meds as long as you need too.  I'm sure you will eventually overcome these things, but, until then.. thank God for those tablets..

I have just read your blog...oh Jan what a frightening experience for you. I had similar problems some years ago and it is very frightening. I had awful panic attacks and could not get my breath. Mind you it was as a result of finding out that my husband had been playing away yet again! I was on Prozac when I lost my job in 1998 also. Take the tablets as they will make you feel better. It won't be forever, just until you get back to normal. Have you been worrying about something? There is usually a reason for depression. Get well soon anyway. Lots of love Conniexxx

((Hugs)) I've been where you are dear one. Right down to having all the test done for Thyroid and checking to see if I was anemic. I was on Lexapro for 2 years. Slowly but surely my Doctor and I worked on weaning me off. It was hard to get off my dependency. I think it was more worrying that I would fall back into that depressive funk. I have now been without medication for going on over a year now. I'm learning to deal with life without having to have a numb solution. I'm keeping you in my prayers on the smoke that you do indeed find your way out of this. (Hugs)Indigo

I completely understand those "what's the point in anything" thoughts my dear.  I had alot of days like that too.  Hang in there... it will get better and days like that will become less frequent.
