If its wide ..click link to entry ! (at the bottom of entry )

This is one of Donna's graphics it is in my side bar and definately one of my favourites .....

Well here in the UK  we had a bank holiday ,and what a wash out it was I feel sorry for people who had organised events ,we had nothing planned, Maurice worked, so any shopping I did was by dodging the showers locally , that was on Saturday ,on Sunday Mark Chrissie and Kate came over  all saying how Kizzie is growing her legs have suddenly grown really long thus enabling her to reach up and check out what is on the coffee table ! yesterday it was still pouring with rain so I decided to do some sewing ,and actually finished another patchwork cushion,I have put the pictures on here ....My photo bucket isnt working ,and I cant seem to add pictures even with the AOL slide show ,on Saturday ,all the pics and graphic came out in a row ,though on the entry as I did it ,it was OK the pics were underneath each other ,thus making the journal very wide ,and if that happens today ,Isuggest you go to the bottom of the entry ,and where it says 'link to entry' click on that and it should be easier  to read ,I say should .but nothing is guaranteed lately ,it is very disheartening ,and I find myself doing only tentative entrys ,simply because I cant add my pictures in a satifactory way ,Iam almost afraid to click save on this entry ,in case it comes out wide again .

So as I dont seem to be saying anything much at all ,I will go and make myself some supper (Maurice is working the first of his three nights ) and wish you all a pleasant evening ,knitting and the TV  for me, I think ,       so with lots of love

Thankyou Chris for this lovely sig

Hi Jan, Yes it was sad that it was such a wet weekend. Especially as today has been lovely, still is, think there may be a nice sunset,  Your patchwork cushions look lovely.  I used to do quite a lot of patchwork, have made three or maybe it is four single quilts in days past!! last thing I did was for the church a hanging for the pulpit. I will try to find a photo of it sometime. I got the pattern from a church in NZ that we usually go to in Whagarie.  Will wait though til oal get back to the "normal" ways with photographs. Ithink Iread that it may be better after Thursday this week.....we wait and see.  Sybilsybil45

Your patchwork is beautiful!!  What a nice way to spend the day.
I find myself also not making entries like I used to because I don't want to add the pics that go along with it.  Sad huh? Will I eventually just stop doing entries altogether? We'll see...huh?
Would love to see pics of Kizzie when you can.

I had to work on Monday so the rain didn't really bother me, but I did feel bad for those who had made plans to do something special!  It sure was a washout for them!  I love your quilted pillows.  Very lovely.  I have done some quilting in the past but haven't done any for years now!  Have you ever made a quillow??

I enjoyed our Monday holiday (Memorial Day, here in the states) as well.  We had the kids over and BBQued...   I always enjoy having lots of family over and cooking for them! :)

I managed to fix my journal.. found out from editor Joe, that sometimes you have to change it to HTML in the edit feature and see how long the code is.  Sometimes it doesn't show up when you just put the pictures in.  Anyway.. I had to take out pictures of my peanut as they were what was making my journal so hard to read.  Anyway.. blah blah blah.. huh? lol

Hugs
Jackie

What lovely expert patchwork, Jan.  I did some years ago - colourful was the kindest description!  I wonder if Kizzie is going to be a `tall' JR like my late Gus ?  Bunny xx

Your cushions are beautiful. Send some of that rain over this way. It is so hot and dry here. 16 inches behind for this year already and the summer months haven't even got here yet, it's been getting to get around 90º for several days. Hugs, Helen

Oh, Jan..I love the patchwork pillows.  That's one of the things on my "After I Retire" list..to try my hand at quilting.  However, I'm not sure I have enough patience for it.  I have a girl friend who has literally made hundreds of quilts.  She made one back in 1971 for my son and then in the 1990's made one for each of my grand kids.   If you go to her house, she's always got a quilt at the end of her sofa she's working on while watching TV in the evenings.   And stacks of quilt squares cut out ready for another quilt.   Sorry your weather was so bad over there for your 3 day weekend.  Here in western Washington it was very pleasant, not too hot and not too cold.   Today it's supposed to reach 85 degrees.  I've just been out doing some watering.  Have a good evening...Linda in sunny & warm western Washington

Love the cushions!! As you know we did have a good time at the weekend despite the weather! Think I will go and get something to eat as well......have tried to stay on liquid only today but the old tumbly is rumblin' !!!

Sorry to hear your weekend was a wet one. I find when it's raining outside to be the best time for sewing or reading. Love your work, the pillow is beautiful. Hope your days ahead dry up and are full of sunshine!

Adding photos is a real pain at the moment isn't it. I hope AOL sort it out soon.
The entry didn't appear wide for me so no trouble there.
Have a nice evening with the tv. B. x

Your quilt cushions are lovely.  You inspire me to get back to my needle work and even knitting, but it seems by the time I get a few chores done after work and of course do my computering...it's time to go to bed already.  The weekends have been filled with work at home and at my Dad's.  Someday I'll get to those projects and have quiet evenings to do it all in.  I am so looking forward to it.  Your pictures came out just fine...no wideness at all.  'On Ya' - ma

Your cushions are fab :o) My eldest neice does stuff like that too and big blankets etc...Very clever and doubt i could do it...To add a pics so that they don't show as a slide show then use the Add Image button...I add one then press enter a couple of times so there is space between them...Ok they then appear in a big downwards line but when i pressed space bar so there was space between the pics the entry came out too wide...The slideshow is fine for some kinds of pics but not for individual ones of specific items...I do think it looks cool on my entry about the village where am from...Yesterday was only an actual holiday for banks in Scotland and not a general holiday...We finally got the yuk rain today...I did feel sorry for those in England where the weather was so vile   Caff xxxxxxx

Love the pillows, they are quite nice.  Sorry for the rainout.  It was sunny here in AZ, but then again it usually is, lol.  I worked part of it, but was able to spend most of it with the family.  Hopefully you'll be able to load pictures soon, I know the internet sometimes..ugh.  De ;)

Here's a tip for patchwork cushions Jan: Cut the bottoms off old mens ties and piece them together, the rest of tie can be cut into patches a suitable shape for borders etc. You can pick up ties for s few pence in charity shops and they come in some lovely colours/patterns and wonderful materials. Happy patching.

Love your patchwork cushions Jan - you clever girl!  Maurice will have to start counting his ties in case any go missing ;-)
Yes wasn't it a washout here, it never seemed to stop raining, talk about it never rains but it pours!  We had about a month of rainless days then it all came at once :-(
I'm pretty sure I have had my computer hacked into - will ring you and tell you all about it Jan - so both my blogs have gone private, haven't got around to putting my regulars onto alerts yet, have so many other things to sort out but will get around to it eventually so please don't think you have been left out!
Thanks for the 'advertizing space' again Jan ;-)
Talking of photos, mine have suddenly gone 'slide show' and started zooming in and out, I thought it was something I had done by accident, is this what everyone else is experiencing?  I quite like the effect, but would like to know how to switch it on and off.
That is a really beautiful signature Jan, very serene.  BTW I'm going to be a granny again and if it's a girl, they may call her Serenity :-D

You are so clever with your patchwork cushions I have two in our bedroom but I bought them in a charity shop but would love to try to make one. Are you doing it on the sewing machine or are you doing them by hand.  Love Joan.

Your cushions are GORGEOUS.  I wish I could do stuff like that, my poor old cushions need replacing now what with the Grandsons and the animals.  Yes, it was easier to read when I click on link to this entry.  I cannot understand why photobucket is not working for you.  Have you got too much stuff on there, I mean they must have some limit.  I have not run out of space yet but will start deleting old pics when I do

I love your cushions Jan, my friend used to make ones just like that! I'm getting impatient for our pics to come back to normal! I hate looking at the slideshows, the pictures wriggle and wobble and make my eyes go funny! Kizzy sounds like she's growing fast! Lovely cushions, you're very skilled! I discovered there seems to be a new way to add photos to the journals, much easier, so long as it's working. You have to shrink the photos though! I can vouch for the wet weather over the Bank Holiday w/e. Bet the ducks were happy though.

LOL...well....humph...it seems I didn't get an alert for this entry so thanks again to AOL.  I heard folks mentioning that their entries were too wide but they all looked fine to me; the same as usual.  You are haivng rain, and now we are having the 90 degree heat and a drought.  The weather can't make its mind up.

Love your patchwork cushions, and your sofa is lovely.  Looks so comfy.  Hope your weather dries soon.  Love xx Chris
