Sandringham craft fair pictures

As the lovely Graphic made by Donna ,suggests it is still showery here today ,I suppose the gardens are enjoying it ,after the heavy showers yesterday ,I tried to plant some 'Thrift 'dont know what the botanical name is ,We had it in the garden at home ,and my Dad never tired of telling us it was the flower on the threepenny bit ,Kizzie wanted to help ,if I dig a hole she gets in it ,she barks at my trowel, runs off with the plants, Grr what a pest lol Maurice and his 'wants a pet '! couldnt he have settled for a cuckoo clock lol just joking Hee Hee ....Well AOL deigned to let me put my pictures on today, wont let me get back to correct the spelling re-enactment ,but Iam not going to try any more, in case I lose the lot ,as you will see from the pictures there were alot of crafts to admire ,many being demonstatedlots of things to buy ,as you know Maurice bought me the Candlewicking kit ,on one stall there were some lovely ornamental carved walking sticks ,and carved whistles,I bought Maurice a whistle ,he didnt want a walking stick ,he can train Kizzie to herd sheep ? Ha Ha....dont cha just love a man with Whistle?,,on the stall where the Lord Nelson sign is they made some lovely things ie clocks and barometers set in Oak,I  recognised the young lady as some one who had been brought up in the same village as me ,amazing after over fifty years ,we saw lots of lovely things made out of one single peice of wood, chains ,for example and love spoons ,my brother John makes these very clever items so I was particularly interested ,we saw a man making the frame of a Corracle ,these boats were used on the fens by the fen men catching eels and cutting reads ....A gypsy Vargo ,whips and tops,a funfair ,lots of knitting and sewing crafts ,I was pleased with the picture of the artist doing the caricature of the man with the amazing nose ,I had to shove through the crowd to get both the sitter ,the artist, and the picture at an angle to be able to see it all ,and I think I did it....so that is where I will leave you today ,With another great graphic made for me by my friend Debbie ..debsDabs

Jan, I did enjoy all your pictures, especially of the gypsy caravan and of Kizzie of course!!  What a little dear.  It can't decide if it is going to rain here today or not...It just keeps drizzling.  We do need the rain though so I wish it would!

Just been pegging out the washing and I don't care if it is 'spitting' with rain, will hopefully do the towels some good :-)
Your pics are lovely Jan, will get to Sandringham one of these days.  I just adore the one of Kizzie - her sweet little face!
I find it difficult to upload pics all the time, I just keep on clicking on 'add photos' until it takes me to my photo file, sometimes it can take a dozen attempts but eventually lets me in :-/
I just love the candlewicking kit Jan, and look forward to seeing your completed one. Don't you just love those cartoon drawings?  How clever is he to do it in just 10mins?  I had a drawing done in Spain whilst on honeymoon, but he cleverly adjusted your features to make you look pretty or handsome. no matter how unattractive you were really lol!  John laughed out loud when he saw mine - he said it looked more like Hayley Mills than me ha ha.  Unfortunately it got lost over the years :-(

Great pics Jan, and even though I'm not really a 'dog' person, I gotta say that last one of Kizzie is a gem.
There's something about oak that just screams 'British' isn't there? Just love those carvings.

Thank you for sharing!  That would be just my cup of tea.  I love the gypsy caravan...it is beautiful and the caricatures I am very familiar as one of my son's does that for a spare time job at the fair and festival here. He is an artist to be sure.  We had another day of sunshine.  It had showered during the night as the streets were wet this morning, but the sun came through again.  This has been almost a whole week of sunshine for us.  Very unusual.  Hope you get some soon.

A great set of pictures, I'm so glad AOL allowed you to get them in this time.  Kizzie is so cute and just when you least expect it, there was a really got shot taken of you, too.  The fair looked like a fun afternoon.  It was amazing that after fifty years you could still spot someone from your village.

I didn't know that about 'thrift' Jan.  It sounds a great place to visit, crafty people really have a gift for catching someones eye.  It's the kind of place you go round and round at in case you miss something.  Am glad you had a good day.Rache

HI Jan - just thought I would pop in and see you - I still have my alerts switched off - but I had some time to visit my journal friends - it was nice to catch up with you  - loved the pics! That doggy was huge saying hello to Kizzie! I love craft fairs! Love Laine xx

Hi Jan,
Have you looked at your journal, they've changed your pics to a Rock You slideshow, they've done the same to mine too! Weird! I love your pics of the craft fair. So, you bought Maurice a whistle? Be careful he doesn't use it to beckon you instead of Kizzy. I've seen those chains made of a single piece of wood, they're fascinating! Glad you had a good time and saw an old friend! How do you do that? Sliding one pic into another stuff? It is like a movie camera. Fascinating stuff! Well done as I enjoyed the pics. The fair is like Widdecombe fair I went to last year in Devon. Love Conniex

I am ever so pleased that you shared your day out with me and I must say that I envy you for being able to see a corracle being made, when I was younger I too would have loved to make one of these light weight water craft boats.
