A cold day in May

So ~journal entrys from me are like buses, you dont get one for ages then two come together !

Here is a picture of Mark and I,He is my first born he was fourty seven,on April the 30th ,he gave us a scare ,the week before his Birthday,Chrissie his wife rang at 7.15 on the Monday morning saying Mark had been taken to hospital ,he had woken up and was getting ready for work ,when he began to vomit blood ,he was admitted to the assessment ward at Peterbough district hospital, and was there for about thirty hours ,on a drip and nil my mouth ,he went home on the Tuesday afternoon with some medication ,and a promise of an appointment for a gastroscope,as it appeared they were to busy to do the procedure ,The meds are for stomach ulcer ,he still hasnt had an appointment ,but seems fine now.

And look who else has had a Birthday ,Aunty Kitty celebrated her eighty seventh birthday on April 26th ,and though she still looks very frail she was on top form ,joking and singing her favourite 'Id like to get you ,on a slow boat to china 'encouraged by us of course

And then last Sunday,my Grandson Stuart and his little bride to be Vicki, came to bring me an invitation to Vicki's hen night on June 9th ,we are to have a trip up the Nene ,the river that runs through Peterborough ,and a meal ,on board ,then after, into town to 'do the clubs' guess who has decided to pass on that ? they promised to find a dark corner to sit me in ,but erm no ! Yes the wedding is getting ever closer now ,I dug out the silver threepenny bitsand asked Vicki if she would carry on the family tradition of wearing one in each shoe for luck ( both  my daughters used them ),she loved the idea ,one is dated 1941 the year of my birth ,and the other 1939 ,Micks birth year ,I little thought all that time ago, when I got married in 1959 ,when Iwalked down the aisle with them in my shoes that my Grandsons bride would be  doing the same ,what is it 48 years later ?Just had a thought the handbag ,I have bought to go with my outfit ,won't hold many tissues ,oh dear Ill have to be strong ?........Well thats my entry today on a cold dull  day in May .I hope every one has a lovely evening ,with love

Birthday..birthdays you had loads! Aunt Kitty still looks good for her age, and for that to happen to Mark you will need to keep us posted on the outcome! And yes I would have passed on the club scene, some of them will be younger than your grandson when you hit the clubs not a pretty site that`s why even I stay away! lol!

Hi Jan!  Thank you for leaving such a nice comment in my journal.  You are ever the lady, and it's not a wonder that you won a Vivi for "Lady of the Blog!" :)  Looks like you and I are about the same when it comes to not leaving many entries lately.
I do hope and pray that your son is going to be okay.  Vomiting up blood is quite scary! :/

Loved the pictures!  Hugs and kisses to you, my sweet friend!

Lovely pictures of you and your family.  I'm glad your son is doing ok, but hope they get the rest done and find out for sure what his problem is/was.  That would be a scare.  The grandson and his bride to be are so cute...hope you have a jacket with a pocket for those tissues, I think you may need some.  'On Ya' - ma

the weather ruined my swinging today lol I have been enjoying the sunshine. I think you ought to get a bigger handbag so you can take a few more tissues, either that of Maurice will have to fill his pockets up lol.

Happy belated birthday wishes to Mark and Aunt Kitty, I hope Marks tests come back clear for him and he doesnt have anymore trouble with his stomach.
Dont you look like your Aunt Kitty, and doesnt she look well for her age, Bless her.
Go on the hen night, you want to show these youngsters how to go out and enjoy themselves, I wore a sixpence in my shoe when I married, it was from 1958 the year of my birth, I dont know where Stephen (husband) got it from, I thought it would annoy me, but do you know I forgot that it was there, I hope they have a fantastic day, along with everyone else

Love Lynne xx

Jan, I hope Mark gets that test done.  He shouldn't take the chance that he might have an ulcer.  Your grandson and bride to be make such a cute couple.  How wonderful that she is carrying on a tradition all these years later.  Your Aunt Kitty is looking much better than she did.  Have a good Friday!  Love xx Chris

Wonderful entry Jan!  Enjoyed all the pictures and your thoughts.  What a wonderful tradition to be able to share with your future grandaughter in law!  Your son looks very much like you!  I am glad they found out the problem and will be saying a little prayer for him for a quick recovery from his ulcer.  Glad it was nothing more serious than that, although that is bad enough!  Have a wonderful weekend Jan.  Hope the sun shines!
love,
Marie

My gosh, Jan, you don't look old enough to have a 47 year old son!  I'd have a hard time believing 37!  You look great!  I hope your son will be ok.  I love the tradition of the coins in the shoe!  What a great idea!  How special for your grandson and his bride.  What a cute couple, by the way!  Your auntie is so sweet.  I love that she still enjoys belting out her favorite song.  How cute!
Hugs,  Kathy

Ooh wasn't it cold in these parts yesterday Jan!! I succumbed to putting on the heating and didn't walk to the library.  I thought afterwards that walking briskly would probably have warmed me up but I had a cup of hot chocolate with rum in it instead :-D
Love your photos, I think your effervescent nature keeps you looking young Jan!
Lets hope for a better Bank Holiday weekend (Whitsuntide?)

Hi Jan, thank you so much for sharing these beautiful family photos.  You have such a wonderful family.  I am very concerned about your son spitting up blood.  It makes mine boil to know that they were too busy to do his test.  What's wrong with the health system anyways?  Grrrr!  Glad to know that he is feeling better.

Love,
Susie

Hi jan,i was messing about with my laptop and came across your journals.I was drawn to them by the word serendipity, which i think is a very clever word. There is a film called SERENDIPITY ,which is a lovely love story. It stars Kate Bekinsdale...    My name is Jeanette and i am 40 years old.I AM OFF work at the moment after having an operation on my foot, that was a week ago and have another 5 weeks off work. I am not used to sitting about and easily get bored lolling around. TAKE CARE....Jeanette
