Saturday Evening

Here we are Saturday again ,I went up to the town this morning ,with my trolley to buy my vegetables from the market stall ,all localy grown and taste so much better ,than all the supermarket prewrapped stuff (much more environmentaly friendly too ! )I also took a stainless steel wine rack that we dont use any more to the charity shop .and resisted the urge to buy anything from there ,though I'm sure if Id seen some thing I liked enough, I would have done !

The pictures at the top ,I took today too ,remember the flower shop pictures I took at Christmas the theme then was the Snow Queen ,the latest display is for valentines day ,and again really lovely .Those of you that read my friend Debbies journal  http://journals.aol.co.uk/drb1064/whatever ,will know that we had the morning in Huntingdon yesterday ,and I bought some earring wires to make some ear rings with my new bead packs that Maurice bought me from the sale at his work ,so any time now I will be having a go !

I havent seen Debbie today ,though she lives just round the corner ,we dont live in each others pockets ,but we each know the other is there ,and when we are together never stop talking ,in spite of the age difference we have lots in common ,we both enjoy reading ,though not the same sort of books ,we both enjoy our computers ,and since Deb started her journal even more. Imagine her surprise last May when she saw me on the AOL  welcome page ,and that was when we started to become friends .

I had a lovely chat on the phone , with our friend Jeannette(Travels) last evening ,we were both surprised to learn we hadnt spoken to each other since before Christmas ,she was telling me of her plans ,for her travels this year ,and since she is planning to meet up with some more of our journal friends ,I can foresee some extremely interesting journal entrys in the coming year .

I am going to have my supper now ,then its my knitting and the tele ,Have a good evening every one ,with love from

Hello Jan,

I love charity shops and love to browse for a bargain. While visiting my SIL in Kent last year I bought a nice jumper for £4 that had hardly been worn and it`s now one of my favourites. I`ll keep on looking for the next `find`. I`ll bet the fresh fruit and veg tastes much better than supermarket stuff. If we had a good market nearby I`d but all mine from there. :o)

Love Sandra xxxx

Wish we had a market to go to buy fruit and veg from...Making bead earrings is easy peasy you'll manage that no problem...I used to make jewellery like that and sell it at craft fairs...I still have loads of beads, wire, leather etc left over...Have fun with it :o)   Caff xxxxx

I like to shop at the market too, the stuff tastes better than the supermarkets veg as well! I must pop over to say Hi to Debbie, I don't think I've been there yet! Jeannette xx

Lovely pictures of the shop window and so good of you to share them with us!  I would love to see pictures of your beaded earrings too one day!  *hint *hint  I just love crafts!  We went into town for a bit of window shopping yesterday as well.  It was such a sunny and bright day, even if a bit cooler.  It was lovely though to pass the time in that way and also enjoyed our stop at a little sidewalk cafe for a hot chocolate drink and a scone.  A perfect Saturday and it sounds as if you had a perfect one as well!

I am just about to embark on growing some stuff of our own, could be interesting as I haven't inherited my mothers green fingers.

Never stop talking? Now THAT I believe! ;O)
Last week Reet was complaining that she'd burned her tongue. I suggested it was friction burns. Didn't stop her though.

That's a lovely shop, Jan.  I agree about the locally grown veggies, they do taste better.  We have local `tatws' (potatoes), they are really lovely when new.  Good luck with the earrings; I used to have a job making them, and it was very satisfying.  Bunny xx

That's great that you and Debbie are close friends :)  I have read her journal and it looks like she's settling into J-land just fine.  Hope the earrings come along fine.

That store window is so lovely once again, Jan.  LOL...no snow or ice neither which is very pleasing to my eyes right now.  Funny how you meet so many people online who are right in your area.  I'm looking forward to Jeannette's travels in the States.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed because she may be near my area.  Have a good Monday.  Love xx Chris

I thought of you Jan, when I saw that lovely shop window, and wondered if you'd snap it!
I nearly went to that Market on Saturday, but it was so cold and I didn't really need anything, Tesco just delivered me a nice big order :-).  I'd been hunting around that Charity shop last Thursday, but unusually, didn't buy anything ;-)
Maybe bump into you some other Saturday :-D
