Sorry its taken me some time to get the next part of Charles Pickering’s story to you , we have had an anxious week ,at lunch time on Monday, we had a phone call from Tina ,the manager of the home that Aunty Kitty(Maurice’s Aunty) is in ,to say that Aunty Kitty is really very ill ,Michael and Jackie(Maurice’s brother and sister in law) were with her ,as was the priest who had come to the home to administer the last rites ,the ambulance was called and she was being to admitted to hospital ,We really didn’t expect her to survive she is very frail ,and the bug she had succumbed too ,was particularly virulent, she was put on a drip ,and given strong antibiotics as well as fluids ,was being barrier nursed and when we went to see her yesterday ,we donned aprons and gloves ,She looked so frail , like a little girl, lying there ,but perked up when she saw us ,still looking very poorly, but still with her sense of humour, Maurice was singing one of her favourites to her,’ I’d like to get you on a slow boat to China ,”I Don’t want to go to China today!”, she said We both decided she isn’t out of the wood yet .But she’s a tough old girl so we continue to pray.
Now its Friday late afternoon, Michael has just rung, to say tests have been done and Aunty Kitty is now free of the bug, and is going back to the care home this evening, I suppose they need the beds! ! ! I won’t forget I owe you the second part of Life on Britannia..

awww Jan, so good to hear she is recovered enough to go home. Terrible place to be when you think of all the germs running amuck in hospital. Most doctors don't like to keep people in for fear of just that...more sickies! God Bless you and keep you all well and away from the virus's. :))))))))Doreen
Im glad she is feeling better. My daughter in law is in the hospital with something too... a scary time isn't it... take care, Sandra

Aren't we blessed to have antibiotics at our disposal? Just think 100 years ago, so many people passed away from the most innocent of diseases. I bet she'll feel much better when she gets back to her own room. Love those graphics ! Linda in Washington state

I'm a great believer in prayer. So auntie Kitty is being placed on my list Jan. She certainly is a fighter. So glad she is back home amongst familiar faces and comforting familiar objects.
Looking forward to the next episode...when you can find the time...Jeanie
Oh Dear Jan,
I am so sorry to read Aunt kitty has been out of sorts. My aunt at 93 was just the same. They are tough old sticks the older end.She fought and fought breast cancer at 92 until finally the medication got he better of her and I finally lost her poor thing. She was a wondergirl, just as Mauric's Aunt Kitty sounds.Yes they would need the beds.It makes me angry though at times, because I always say in hospital you arei n the best hands with everything there at the touch of a button.Well in some hospitals, lets say.I laughed at the song Not heard that one for a long time.I wish I was on a slow boat to china just now it would be wonderful LOL!!I hope she continues to feel better and give her a hug from me.Bless her.Have a wonderful week/end if you can and I look forward to the second episode of Brittania in earnest.God Bless
