February fill dyke ( with snow)

Yes, the snow came this morning as forecast ,and you can see from the pictures I took from the patio door ,I didnt  venture out ! as you would expect the country has closed ! We dont cope well with a couple of inches of snow ,Schools are closed so are are many airports and roads ,numerous accidents have been reported on the news ,Maurice rang earlier and said there was no snow when he left for work at six oclock this morning ,but when I woke up about eight thirty ,we had had the results of what you see in my pictures ,I hope the roads have been treated before Maurice comes home tonight

I had a lovely surprise in the post this morning,My Grandson Stuart and his Fiancee' Vicki ,have sent out their wedding invitations ,the envelope arrived complete with a sealing wax seal on the back .as I opened the invitation up ,I was showered with confettii ,can you see an example of some of it in front of the invite ? Bless them ,and I didnt think I would need to vacuum today !

I had a nice surprise Debbie came round bearing gifts ! she really has the knitting bug, after making the lovely scarf for herself ,she has made me one too ,just the same colour as my suede coat ,knitting hey there is no stopping her now ,two scarves in less than a week !

I will close here I seem to have been on this computer all day ,Every thing has been really slow ,at least we can look our American friends  in the eye, now we have our snow, some of them have been struggling from it for weeks now ,So stay safe stay warm every one ...with love

Hey Jan,

Yeah, the snow's really picking up here. It was only a slight drizzle earlier, but as the day's going on, it's getting heavier!

Congrats to Stuart and Vicki. I love getting covered in confetti from invites...well, apart from the hoovering bit..LOL!

Can you ask Debbie to knit me a scarf too please? HAHA!

Enjoy ya day hun,

How typical that we get the best snow for years and I'm too ill to wrap up and go for a walk, or get the sledge out and ride down the bank in our garden, something we've only done once before. Yes I know I'm 53 but growing up is something I haven't  experienced yet! LOL.

that's hardly worth calling a snow fall is it?

Well seems it was only the very south of the country that saw any snow

Hi Jan,  I enjoyed your pics.  The snow looks so pretty to me. But, I don't have to live in it!  <evil grin>
The wedding invitation was pretty.  Hope you are able to go and have a good time.
Have a good day and stay warm.

Lucky you with getting a postal delivery, it is as though we are in the depths of the county here as we have not had any post and only 1 person has driven down here today.....talk about being cut off!!!!  But then again this area tends to be forgotten in this weather anyway!!!!

The snow looks pretty alright, but it's no fun trying to work in it. I can't wait for Spring.
Have a good day Jan. B. x

Love your snow pictures!  We got quite a bit down here in Kent as well, although it is mostly melted now and we have had some freezing rain, also melted.  Absolutely love the scarf!  Lucky you to have such a wonderful friend!

Jan, I love your graphic of the snow plow!  We got very little snow here.  I am really disappointed.  Edwin is on a business trip though and expected home tonight.  I hope he gets home before this stuff freezes!

Lovely graphics !  Yes, I hope the snow is gone for good from western Washington.  We've had our share of misery. Of course now that I'm no longer working it will disappear. One of the things on my retirement "to do" list is to learn to knit.  I can sew, embroidery but never learned to knit or crochet.  If I do learn, all my family will have scarves for Christmas next year.  I love the snow clearing graphic.  That's the way it is...they clear it from one spot only to put it elsewhere.

Hello there, isn't it cold. I went into work today for four hours as it's quiet on the home work front. It was freezing. I then came home and took Maddie out for a lovely walk in the snow. She loves it. Whilst at work, i got a call to say the boys school was closing. The boys came home and i now have absolutely sodden clothes, right to the underpants to wash, due to them going to play in the park. (Oh well, they had fun!) Off to see Mother in law tonight and hope that you are Maurice are keeping well and warm. Could you ask Debbie how much she would charge me to make me a scaft as i would love one. See you soon. Love you x x x x

Brrr - got out of bed twice this morning and twice got back in again! I saw last night that the cars were covered in frost so thought 'too cold to snow' lol!  Was going to take some snowy pics from my back door as the gardens looked so pretty, but camera full and not down loaded them :-(
That's a really pretty pink snowy pic you have there today Jan :-D
I'm off to have a hot chocolate drink with a good dose of dark rum in it :-D

Just been watching the teatime news and I have never heard so much fuss over a few inches of snow.  The schools never closed in my day we loved it. If the heating broke down we kept our coats on.  What is happening in this country.  Think you will agree Jan things are going from bad to worse.  LOve Joan.

Welcome to the Winter Wonderland !  Yes for weeks now we've been snowed upon and frozen through and through.  It takes lots of snow to close things up around here though, everyone just slips and slides around causing a lot of havoc.  The artic temps did close the schools 2 days though.  Take good care and keep warm! Now that you have that nice scarf to wear, it'll keep you warmer yet. 'On Ya' - ma

We got no snow in Brighton! I banned it a couple of weeks ago, it snowed over the South Downs but didn't dare to come any further, I must be seriously scary! I love your scarf, I have loads but never seem to wear them! Same as gloves, I carry them in my pocket moaning about my cold hands! Lol! I hope Maurice got home from work all right, keep warm! LOL...welcome to the frozen world of snow.  Actually, it does look pretty when it's laying somewhere else.  That invitation is so pretty!   I haven't used sealing wax in years but used to have a kit with several different stamps.  How nice that it may be coming around again.  Love those scarves.  Love xx Chris

The scarf looks nice and warm. We had snow but it did not last long and we did not have much.....thank goodness. It looks pretty enough but causes such havoc on the roads. I do not like to feel imprisoned because of the weather. And it is too cold for me. I cannot seem to get reallt warm. Love Conniexx

Love the photos.

I hope everybody is safe and that the roads are soon clear for you all.

By for now,

We had hardly any snow at all...Sorry but i do laugh sometimes at how england shuts down for a couple of inches of the stuff...Ok there was more in some areas so can understand that but schools closing where there was only a skimmering was ridiculous...The invite is gorgeous :o)   Caff xxxxxx

Ugh, it's too late for snow. They're calling for snow here on Valentine's Day. I wanted it in December and January, not now! lol glad you're enjoying your days though. And your patio there is so beatiful with that blanket of snow on it.
Sorry for not being around at all lately. At first I was busy, now I'm getting no alerts. It never ends, lol. Have a good start to the week!

Oh, burrrrrr.  It looks cold but beautiful in your snowy garden.  I'm sure the pretty scarf your friend knitted for you will help keep you warm during this cold snap.  I hope you'll post pictures of the ear rings you make with your bead kit.  I'm sure they'll be nice!  The Valentine's Day window in the last entry is sure pretty.  Someone really knows how to dress up a store front window.  It's strange that it's already mid-February.  Psst..it's my birthday month, too.  Are you an Aquarius or a Pisces?  I'm an Aquarius.  What day do you celebrate?
Hugs,  Kathy
