A Monday Meeting

Just a quicky tonight ,Karen picked me up this morning ,so off we went to the news letter meeting ,We had recieved all the items to be put into this issue (The Christmas one ),so it was just getting the lay out to our satisfaction,Barbara had written a recipe for a mixed vegetable and lentil soup ,so while we were working away at the presentation of the news letter ,she made some of her delicious soup so before we left at about twelve thirty ,we had soup and crusty bread .Iwent into town and looked at some knitting patterns in John Lewis ....I took a few, not very good, pictures of the Christmas decorations in the shopping centre, but have put them in any way ! I caught the bus home ,cleared my mail box ,have made the dinner ,we are having Toad in the hole ,with mashed potatoes, peas and some mashed swede with gravy ,I havethe other of half yesterdays trifle for pudding ,I am waiting for Maurice to get home now ....   So this entry is like a donkeys gallup ,short and sweet Have a good evening everyone ,With Love From

with thanks to Dianna for my opening graphic

The soup sounds gorgeous, any chance of the recipe, I really must make some soup. You can see how pretty the decorations are. I miss not getting out and about to see those, I never liked the shopping part but I did love to see the lights.

Thanks for the pictures. OK, what is Toad In The Hole. My Dad use to make us a pancake with an egg in a hole in the middle and call it that. Regards, Bill.

Your shopping center looks very much like one of ours!  Pretty decorations!  Now, you must tell me what Toad in a Hole is.  I have to say it brings a picture to mind and it's not pretty.  LOL   I've never heard of this dish before.

The shopping mall is beautiful. Now I am hungry for soup and crusty bread! LOL!
I cannot knit. A neighbor tried to teach me once but was unsucessful. I knitted the ugliest "thing" for the top of my mom's toaster. The bad news is my mom actually liked it! LOL
Have a good day.

Hi there first visit to your blog I found it just browsing was drawn by Toad in the Hole a favourite of mine.

When I used to work I spent some time away from home and stopped in hotels etc and would you believe I had to give the chef instructions as to how to produce this particular dish.

I do hope to revisit
Take care Dave

Jan you make me laugh....first time I've heard the saying "like a donkey's gallop, short and sweet".
Toad-in-the-hole, dumplings, spotted Dick, roly-poly, Welsh rarebit .... we have some great names for our traditional dishes.
Take care.
Love Sylvia xx
