Residents Conference 2011

What a very emotive statement ,I know I care ,and that has it's own rewards ,people usually care back , the only draw back is the hurt you feel when people let you down .I don't understand people who say 'I don't care',what ! don't they feel? are they numb ? I start off liking everyone and am not often let down , but when I am, then I hurt !. Gosh the above picture really evoked some  food for thought .......

So what has all that got to do with this post ? Well.. erm ..nothing at all ! This entry is another flash back , Last October we held our annual Residents Conference, and the attendance was the best yet. With an agenda to keep everyone interested all day,We started off hearing about the companies plans for the year ahead from Alan our chief executive .Question time was a lively affair with questions to the executive team from the residents .We had breaks in the foyer area with stands bearing lots of information that was helpful and relevent to our residents,We also had a stall that was laden with hobbies, craft and hand work that our clever residents were keen to show off ,I am so sorry my battery died so I only took a very few pictures .We were entertained by Staff and residents alike ,here you see The Sheltered Housing Manager Denise ,singing some great blues number ,

Oh look there is Tracey our resident Inclusion manager and I,Tracey is a very hard working and supportive  young lady to our residents group (ARF)

During the whole day we had a very talented cartoonist doing charicatures of any one who wanted to sit for their picture, here is Maurice !

And Moi !

Well that was  in October ,and now here we are in April ,as the saying goes 'doesn't time fly when you are having fun ?'

So on that happy note,I hope you are managing to dodge  these April showers
,and as ever love Jan xx

Great post once again Jan,loved the pics too.Love the sketch of Maurice and yourself very good.Haaaaaaa.I had one sent from my Son in USA,he had it done on visiting Florida LOL Had it framed and signed it.... LOVE YA MUM....That made my day.Like you said about not caring. The speak I don't care,I think many use as habit, but they do care lots of them.To care costs nothing, and I hope I shall always care and I know you are a caring person, you don't have to tell anyone.Sounds you had a great time Jan.April showers look like falling here again today, the sky is black at this present time.Have a great Saturday.Take Care God Bless Kath xx

I love the cute caricatures of the two of you! They are always a lot of fun. One of my talented sons does that as a side job and people always love them. Nice to be catching up with all that has been going on with you. You are always busy there. Hope your Saturday is a super one!

I am so pleased that you are back to sharing your news with us...
It is good that there are some real good sheltered housing schemes out there they seem to be getting fewer and fewer down this way.....all shouting for this "care in the community" stay at home and we will provide help...like fun do they provide the help a really well run shelterd housing scheme does..
They are lucky to see anyone to "care" for them more than 10/15 mins in a day and then left to their own devices...makes me so cross.
Corngradulations on you have done to keep every body on their toes..Love the caricatures LOL
I am away for next 11 days leaving Southampton tomorrow ceuise to the Med Speak when we get back. Take care
Love Sybil xx

The Pacific Northwestern part of Washington state actually set a record for rainfall in March. We've had some in April too BUT....the last 3 weekends have been sunny & warm. The guy who did the charicatures is really talented. You certainly keep busy Jan, I admire your dedication. Hugs from across the pond.
