Playing catch up

The Graphic is one of Donna's...Thankyou .....

After two weeks absence here I am again, Maurice went back to work on Saturday, so I have been playing catch up, First of all I finally caught up with my alerts phew,We didn’t do half the things we planned ,(either the weather or ME !,didn’t always feel good ! )We finally sold our caravan, which was at a site that has a fishing lake, when I was at work it was our retreat, but we had never been there since I retired, we sold it at a loss, but expected too really, but we wont have the site rental now .We had to empty it and find a place for every thing ,I think I have finally done that .Then Maurice ,re sited his shed from one side of the garden to the other ,to make room for the water feature (remember the water feature ? ) he is still keen to make one and has his plans drawn up lol ,as he emptied the shed to move it ,out came a couple of boxes of stuff ,from when we moved ,one containing ornamental plates I had collected over the years and they are now on my kitchen wall ,We also went out and bought a new cooker ,so we actually got quite a bit of useful stuff done .

September 22nd, was Maurice’s birthday, his brother Mike and Sister in law Jackie invited us over for Dinner, we had a lovely evening with them, Jackie had recently been on a visit to Lourdes, she had brought me back a candle that she had blessed for me, I was so moved that she should do that for me .The next day on the Sunday ,as the sun shone we drove down to Norfolk, to visit Walsingham ,known as England’s  Nazareth, such a tranquil, peaceful spiritual place ,we spent a couple of hours wandering around ,in the warm sunshine, looking at all the places of worship ,all the delightful cottages ,sitting out side a cafĂ© to have our lunch and people watch .People watched us too or rather Kizzie who was ahhed over ,which she loved !

We then came back via Wells –Next-The- Sea, where we wandered, bought a fresh crab to take home for tea, and sat on a wall and ate chips. I am now going to try and add some pictures so have a good day everyone with love …..

And the siggy is Debbie's look how Kizzie has grown !

Welcome back, Jan, you have been busy. Circumstances change, and although you must have been sad to leave your retreat, something else will take its place.

That was very interesting Jan.  I have been educated today.  Your pictures were smashing!
What a lovely quiet village you visited.  And I never knew about the shrine either. We live and learn my friend.
Shame you had to give up your holiday home but if you weren't using it then it was daft to hang on to it.  The overheads can be astronomical when you could use the money for other things.
I was so pleased to see your entry....glad you caught up with them and others too. It can be a marathon sometimes....can't it?   Lol!

Well Jan shame you had to sell your caravan but many have done due to the increasing prices of ground rents they charge nowadays.grrrrrrrrrr.We have  many friends who have given up theres for this reason only.Over many years I have been going to buy one, but changed my mind because of this too.Not to worry you sold at a loss, you can have peace of mind now, not to have to worry about it not being used and paying for something as such is a nightmare.I am so happy you have it all done and dusted with, as we say.Well Jan what a beautiful place that is somewhere I would love to go is that place. You will have to tell Maurice to send us directions in an E. mail for next spring somewhere new for to me travel, which as you know I love to get out and about on weekends. It reminds me of all the many tiny villages in Greece I have visited over the yrs.I think you would a adore Greece if you havn't already been.It is beautiful.Well some parts lets say.Maybe now you might be able to go.No caravan to worry about.Your water feature will give you many hours of pleasure mine always did.It brings a feeling of tranquillity to any garden, does a water feature.Loved the boats at Wells -Next -The -Sea.Well and fresh crab what more could one wish for, I love crab.I am so happy you got this little break away even if only for the day.You both deserved it  so much.Great to be asked to dinner too.Take Care God Bless Kath

Welcome back, Jan!  It sounds like you had quite a busy time of it.  Glad you got your caravan sold.  I have a pond in my front.  It was there when I bought the house.  How I wish it were in the back because we aren't in the front that much although now that I'm in Megan's room, I can hear it at night.  LOL..did Kizzie have fun at the beach?  Love that tag!  Love xx Chris

I love the old churches.  The newer ones aren't half so ornate. I can't imagine all the prayers that have been said in these places.  The seaside is always a favorite place of mine so I'm glad you put some pictures in of that.  Have a good week!

Glad to know you got a lot done!! You bought a cooker, I've bought a new fridge/freezer, so all we need now is a washing machine (perhaps Jean could get that, LOL) and between us we should be okay, LOL!!! Loved the pics!

Jan, I would love to visit Norfolk again; when I was a girl we used to holiday on the Broads.
The interior of the little Russian shrine was like a jewel box, I do like bright colours.
Good to know you're out and about again.

Hi Jan,

I was wondering why you hadn't posted for a while.  It was lovely to read about your trip.  Moving the shed sounds complicated, it seems as if you have a very practical husband, I wouldn'd dare let my husband do anything like that, it would never get finished!

We had a caravan for a while some time ago and you're right, you always sell at a loss. Those site owners are money grabbers.
Love the pics Jan. Those chimneys look impressive. we have similar ones nearby on an old building. And Walsingham looks nice, very quaint.

The pics of Walsingham were beautiful Jan. I love old buildings, they have so much more character than new ones don't they? I'm so glad you got a sunny day to visit. I thought we were going to see the collection of plates you discovered in the shed! Happy belated birthday to Maurice. The candle sounds a very thoughtful gift, I have some from the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris and a Mission in Arizona. Take care, enjoy the rest of the week.
