A foxy tale

This is what happens on a night shift ,this little fox has become quite tame and often comes around when Maurice is on night duty ,Maurice is very patient and has an affinety with all animals ,birds and um yes fish ,a regular Docter Doolittle !although the other members of staff leave food for the foxes ,it has to be said ,whilst Maurice was on holiday no one saw them .I was so pleased when he came home  the other night with these pictures .

I watched the British book awards last night and was delighted to see that Victoria Hislop won the prize  in her category for her book 'The Island'.I made a note of many more books I would like to read.

I actually did an entry on Thursday night prompty lost it as I was looking for the siggy ....then yesterday Icouldnt get onto the internet at all ,untill my computer guru Glen  came round after work and sorted me out what would I do with out him ? he must think Im such a pain especially as he has bought him self some personal number plates for his beloved car ,that he wanted to sort out .Thankyou Glen your a goodun !

Well just a short entry Im off now with my trolley to the shops,Have a lovely Saturday everyone ,The sun is shining here today, even though its cold ,so I will be wearing my warm coat

With lots of love

I would probably be too frightened to even try to feed the fox, your Maurice certainly must have a way with animals.  How nice to view the pictures from a distance.  'On Ya' - ma

Hi Jan, the fox is lovely! I bet he was pleased to see Maurice back from his holidays! We have a fox at the hospital who comes round every evening. When I worked nights he'd sit on the wall with me, just looking while I talked to him! He was so tame. I'm off with my trolley now too, we're a couple of trolley dollies!! Lol! Love the picture.

It was sunny here and windy but as the day progressed became oddly warm, which probably explains why the sky turned black in just a couple of minutes and we had a storm. It's stopped again as quickly as it started, so am hoping to get back in the garden again soon.

How wonderful to see how trusting the fox became with Maurice. These are wonderful pictures.  We haven't had TV on for two weeks now.  Tell a lie...I tried the news last night but Bryan hasn't got his listening power back yet so I turned it off.  Shame I missed the British Book Awards. Never mind...Have a lovely weekend.  We are off to visit with our daughter, who lives in the Borders, for the day on Sunday.   Jeanie

I am sooo impressed with those pictures...can we call Maurice the "Fox Whisperer" now??  Battenburg cakes no less...that's one very discerning fox with very ecclectic taste!
Can't wait to show these to Todd!

It's so good to see people taking care of the little guys out in the woods :)))))))
I would feed the squirrels in my yard almost every day and now I have them in my attic hahahaha!  AND can't get them out!  So we have to put netting over evrything and hope they are out before it goes up. I remember the days I would get up at 2 in the morning and find possums and racoons at my back door waiting for a dish of dogfood :)))))) Now they are afraid of me doggies. Have a pleasant day Jan           Doreen :)

What an adorable fox, Jan!  I've had tons of PC problems.  I finally sorted most out myself but have no idea how I did it.  It seems like computers like to reconfigure themselves after a good bit of use.  I need a PC whiz to help me out.  Have a good weekend!  Love xx Chris

Awww it's so cute! And obviously very tamed, yes. Either that or Maurice really is wonderful with animals! That's cool... I've never seen a real fox before around here.

I hope you're doing well, I apologize for not being around, please don't hate me. I'm trying to catch up with everyone while I've got the chance. Take care!

Lovely photos Jan, he looks so tame and fancy him likeing cake, of all things, I used to know a family that had a fox as a pet when I were younger many many moons ago now,  it used to live in the in the house with their dogs,   they lived next to fields so it could come and go as it pleased if he wanted to, but he never did leave , he stayed with them untill he died of old age,
thanks for sharing the photos with us,

Great photos Jan,  We don`t get foxes that close to the house here, at least I don`t think so. I often hear them at night from the fields behind us so maybe they sneak in when we`re not looking...lol! I couldn`t get online at all Thursday either and after trying for about an hour I gave up. Friday morning it was alright again so I don`t know what was going on with AOL again.

Oh I just love the little fox!  Reminds me of when I was younger and we had woods at the back of my house.  My Mom would throw the scrapes out at the back edge of our property and right at sunset the little fox would come out and nibble.  I used to wait by the window just to see the fox.  Hope you enjoyed your day!  De; )http://journals.aol.com/erarein63/DesThoughts/

Hi Jan,  I'm just going through my backlog of journals.  Loved the pictures of the fox, we have one too but ours usually comes during the day!  He, or rather we think it's a 'she', sits and looks at us through the French doors in the kitchen and watches us take a tin of dog food from the cupboard in the dresser, she hardly moves when we put the food in her bowl on the patio, just four feet away from the French doors, we love to watch her.

Happy Easter to you and your family!  ~~~ Pat   http://journals.aol.co.uk/pm71blackfen/ramblings-from-pat/

What a cute little fox!  I saw a little red fox when I was at my parent's house.  He ran between their house and the house next door.  Little flash of red fur.
