Follicles!!

Thankyou Donna for the lovely graphic ,Im thinking Spring ,but the weather here doesnt seem to be on the same waveband as me ! its cold and grey ....

Maurice has finally caught up with his holiday quota for last year and has gone back to work ,for three days ,then three nights and off for three ,so we are back in the routine again ,did I say routine ? oh dear what is that ?

I have been feeling awful this week ,more of that in a minute ,On Monday we went to see Aunty Kitty who seemed brighter ,she was wearing her green blouse and trousers ,I asked her was she wearing the green for St Patricks day ,she perked up and smiled ,so Maurice started to sing 'When Irish eyes are smiling ',I joined in and so did Aunty Kitty ,still very confused but at least a responce .

I went to the drama group meeting ,it was fun ,we have a few bookings to entertain Church groups WI groups and the like ,even my own over sixties club ,in December .Sketches were discussed ,and we are to do a Panto ! Cinderella ! some clever ladies are working on the format and script,Im sure it will be fun .

Now me ~Last week some time ,I became aware of a painful lump on the back of my head, didnt take too much notice ,until I was watching a TV drama  about a guy ,who had worked with mobile phones and was now dying of a brain tumour ! Oh dear ! When I was at work ,I would call up the residents each morning useing a mobile phone,it could take as long as an hour some days with the mobile at your ear for that long Hmm,during the course of the week ,more painful nodules appeared ,and I was itching like crazy ,so much so I was up on Wednesday night ,driving my self silly ,I found my nurses dictionary(Baillie're's)and another medical tome  ,and yes thats it ,I have shingles ,...Maurice was up before me next morning ,wanting to know what the books were all about ,so when I told him ,he said lets see what the Doctor thinks and promptly made an apointment ,The Doctor looked and  felt and announced I have Folliculitis ... hair ducts that have become blocked ....Guido posted an entry about people self diagnosing ,and Imthe perfect example of getting it so wrong ,and worrying myself to death ! (I even considered nits !)I have been prescibed Oxytetracycline, and must avoid milk, iron, zinc, and antacids, and as happens rarely it would appear! I must be kept out of strong sunlight ?(fat chance with the weather today !)    ! WHY ? oh here goes my imagination again LOL......,anyway end of whinge .

We took kizzie for her jab yesterday ,and the vet pronounced her a fit little dog ,she is keeping us busy ,but is getting the idea of going outside for the toilet or the newspaper near the door ,if we arent quick enough .She has a foot fetish chasing our feet and attacking, but will fall asleep next to my foot ,as she is now, as Im typing this ....so thats me pretty much up to date with my news ,Have a good weekend every one ,with love from

I'm glad it's not shingles Jan, that can be really bad. I hope it clears up soon. If you have to avoid iron maybe you can tell Maurice you can't iron, he'll have to do it! Lol! Nah, you'll never get away with it! Kizzy's so sweet, they don't take long to house train if you're their with them most of the day. We want to see videos of your Panto at Christmas! Have a great weekend! Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

I love the pics, so cute!!! We were pretty lucky with Sam, house training wise, as he had 'lived' in a shed with his mum and brothers( & sisters) since birth and were used to the outside so when we got him at 6 weeks he had a vague idea that outside meant toilet so bombed out the back door whenever it was open!!! So pleased you did not have shingles (naughty, naughty self diagnosing, slap wrist.... LOL!!!) you would have known pain!! Got that new Dove shampoo for us older ladies today (the one thats advertised to thicken our thinning hair, lol), will see how it works next week......doing a colour today though!!

So sorry to hear about your 'foliculas -foliculees'  Lol!  I reckon we have all been a bit guilty of self diagnosis in the past and given ourselves a scare intot he bargain.  I'm glad that it wasn't shingles though Jan.  That is not sometihing anybody would want to have!  The pain is excrutiating!
What about your little lap dog Kizzie.  You might just find me coming down your way to pinch her when you're not looking.  Little pet angel!

Kizzy is so cute. I have had a couple of those hair thingys before. They can be quite sore. My neighbor has those shingles now. They are around her waist area. My dad had them once near his eyes. Those are bad things. Have a good weekend. Thanks for sharing Kizzy's pictures. Glad she is getting trained. Hugs, Helen

I've never heard of "Folliculitis". I wonder if people had that condition 100 years ago?  And if so, I wonder what they did for it?  Thank heavens for antibiotics !!   It wouldn't be hard to stay out of the sun here either...all we are getting is liquid sunshine.  That little pup is so cute.  Linda in wet & windy Washington state

Follicles to you as well Jan - lol.  Glad it was all sorted out.  I gave up getting the medical books out years ago as I always had yellow fever, leprousy or a million other diseases.  Sunshine, no fear of that mate.  Thanks for the wonderful phone call, I cannot tell you how you lifted my spirits.  It came when most needed.  Love you

I am so relieved that you don't have shingles.  They are so terribly nasty!  I know absolutely nothing about what you really DO have, but I am praying that the medication that the doctor has prescibed will sort you out quickly!

Oh Kizzie is such a darling puppy.  What a sweety!  I swear she's grown since last week!

Love,
Susie

I bet Aunt Kitty loved that little sing song Jan.Good to hear there was a Responce from her.I am so happy you went to the drama group.Cinderella WOW I hope you make a main part would love to see the up and coming pictures if it does turn out you will be playing in it.When I read the shingles bit my heart dropped,as that is sooooooooo painful and more so in the head.I was relieved it know it wasn't shingles.I rememeber a friend and also my mother having shingles in there head and it almost sent them crazy,on the body parts is so painfull enough.I have read of the complaint you have.Though do not know of anyone who has had the same complaint.I do hope it soon clears up and you are not in too much agony.Weather same here dull and grey Grrrr.Kissy looks so bonny glad the vet thought she was fit and healthy.Just don't let her trip you up getting under your feet,we don't want lumps of a diffeant nature on your head. She is so tiny.I remember when my sis got her pup and when I visited I would forget she was there and trip over her.Silly Me of course, I suppose could only do that..Take care God Bless.

LOL...Jan, I'm one for trying to self-diagnose and that can drive you totally nuts.  The internet is great but can really lend to us playing doctor.

Glad your Aunt Kitty is rebounding a bit.  She is one tough lady.

Our weather is warm again but dreary and wet.  Better than cold and snow though.  Enjoy your weekend.  Love xx Chris

Hi Jan Kizzy is just beautiful what a lot of pleasure you will all have from him.  What a wonderful moment when you were singing to Aunty Kitty, I bet she throughly enjoyed it.  Its great to be a member of a drama group.  My Idris was a member of The Caldicot Male Voice Choir for 35 years and we had a wonderful time, travelling all over the country giving concerts and also a lot of the world.  I will tell it in my journal when I get time. Have a great weekend bye for now Kathie.

Hi Jan, I have to say I'm in love with Kizzie!!  Such a dollbaby!! I wouldn't ever put her down!
You have to take pictures of your Cinderella!!  I love that fairy tale and have a few porcelain Cinderella dolls.
Glad you had a nice visit with your Aunt.  Isn't it funny how she can remember a song from so long ago.
I'm so glad your diagnosis was NOT a brain tumor.  I suspected a skin condition when I first started reading.   Good for Maurice making you a Dr appt.  I'm glad he's there to take care of you! LOL!  I hope it goes away soon.
Have a good evening and a good Sunday.
Hugs...Pam xoxoxoxox

What fun I had going back and reading about how Kizzie came to your home.  She's an adorable little pup, that's for sure!  I love the pictures of her in your red purse.  Jack Russell's are bright and bouncy!  High energy and a lot of fun.  I know she will bring much fun and love to  your life.

Ooh! That sounds painfull, I hope it soon clears up. Of course, if thought I had Nits, I probably would have! They are rife at school, despite our best efforts and letters home.

Kizzy is just adorable. I'm trying so hard not to rush out and get a new dog now that Harper is gone but it really isn't the right time for us.

Get well soon.

Linda x.

It's easy to get yourself worked up over something like that. It seems these days there are more possibilites of things going wrong than ever before. I'm so happy that it was only that. Kizzy is quite the charmer, she is so small and sweet. (Hugs) Indigo

I have never heard of what you say you have, Folliculitis.  I didn't know there was such a thing.  I think we all tend to diagnose ourselves.  I can even remember seeing a spot on my foot and wondering if I had leprosy.  Reading about leper colonies and the like caused my imagination to go in that direction.  Hope you get cured fast!  Gerry
