Lady of leisure!!

Good day everyone ,was going to say good morning but noticed its now noon ,I have been reading journals Id missed ,some how I havent been getting alerts for some, since the troubles,so have had a lovely time reading and catching up, I  didnt get up very early ,am turning into a slob !!I do think Im feeling abit better today though,I  have to admit I have felt really ill these last few days ,I had to ring my team leader ,yesterday to say whether Id be in today or not ,she was very understanding ,but I have been very honest with myself ,and her!. yes youve guessed it Ive thrown in the towel. I decided to hang up my managers hat .Thirteen months after I officially retired Ive done it again ,well it was only holiday and sick cover but it was getting to be most weeks ,the work yes I love it ,but the travelling was getting too much ,it wasnt so bad in the summer months ,but now the cold winter mornings are a very daunting prospect .

What am I going to do with my time now? I can assure you I wont be bored !! I wont have to feel guilty at all the time I spend on here for one thing ,I have my knitting ,sewing ,reading to say nothing of the house to look after ,so yes I feel it was a good decision, and though I dont feel it I will be sixty five in February ,what a thought ! Off now to look out my smelling salts and have a little swoon !!          With Love Jan xx

Hi Jan
, I know you will not regret you decision I have heard a lot of people that stay on call so to speak get cheesed of with it. It goes from just a few hours here and there to nearly what you were doing before you retired. Have a nice day. LOve Joan.

Jan you've been a great help to them and I'm sure if you feel you want to take it up again with conditions that are more pleasing they'll love it.  Stress in a job is not good.  You enjoy your days, you've earned them.  Rache xx

Glad to hear you have properly retired now...You can always visit the clients you cared for as a friend :o) I do think that sometimes they take advantage of people like you who retire but say they'll fill in the odd time for sick cover or holiday cover...Glad to hear you are feeling better too...My birthday is in feb too :o)   Caff xxx

Hi Jan I dont blame you one bit for retiring again,You've done far more than was expected of you, and you have to put your own health first. It would have been so cold and miserable getting up so early and waiting round for buses etc.Do I need to send you another retirement card!!LOL .....Love Jeanxx Glad you are feeling abit better.

Don't blame you throwing in the towel - especially as the weather is so cold, and I'm told will get worse...Now you don't have to get up early, and face the ride to work...you can play on your pc for as long as you wish, and when the weather improves if you wish you can always go back to work I'm sure they would be glad to have you back..So enjoy your 2nd retirement......Take care....Ally

If I was going to be 65 in February, I'd be getting ready to throw in the towel myself.  Unfortunately, I'm only going to be 64 in January.  Here lately, I've been angry with my mom & dad for not having me sooner....what were they waiting for. They were married 2 1/2 years before their first born (me) came along.  Good grief....
Have a good rest of your day & do whatever you feel like doing.  Linda in Washington

I think you made a wise move by retiring again. I wish I could, I hate going out in this weather, give me sunshine!! I'm sure you'll find lots of things to occupy yourself in the future. Jeannette. http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels

I think you`ve done your bit for society Jan, now it`s your turn to be a lady of leisure and I wish I could stay that way too.  I have to get a job straight after Christmas and I can`t retire for another 12 years, as I can`t retire until I`m 65. I wish they would lower the age but I think they are going to raise it to 67 soon!  Have a lovely weekend. :o)

I'm so glad for you, throwing in the towel :o)
You deserve, after all those years of working, to relax a bit now and enjoy your hobbies.  Good for you my dear!!  Hope you feel better soon.

Hello! Jan
I was made Redundant at 55yrs, I became ill partially due to Stress - and never returned to work! Like you I have a younger Partner, we enjoy our Life, but he works full time, and is a long way from Retiring. I'm never bored, and still don't find time to do everything.Retirement came early for me. But I try to make the most of everyday. It's lovely not to have to asnwer to anyone.
I used to make a lot of my own clothes, and also knit!
Now recovering from my fall, I may get the Knittings needles out again.
Love your journal~
