Three weeks absence tut tut !

Hello again everyone, remember me? I have been missing in action, due to a computer/writers block…. however I have been busy doing lots of other things ,I finished a cardigan ,that had been hanging around for a while ,

I have been working on the quillow , I have been to a couple of meetings for the residents forum ,and a lot of stuff has been happening in the garden ,until the rains came !It really is amazing how much you can do if you don’t sit at the computer for long periods of time ! Ah well, you couldn’t keep me away forever!! I left you with plans for the party in the park, and what an amazing success, over a hundred members of the R###e family came, my son Derek came up from Dorset,

his son Christopher (I didn’t see much of Chris as he was playing with all his cousins and second cousins) a niece came from County Durham with her family, another from Corby, another from Stamford, My late husband Mick’s sisters Connie and Dot from Leicester with all her family ,his brothers Peter and Dougie with their family’s my family including my sister Jean and her husband Pete ,although we had torrential rain over night ,and it was a bit windy ,but the sun shone and out of the wind it was quite warm ,because a few of the family caravanned and camped overnight some of us went for a meal on  the Saturday evening prior to the party .So yes we all had a fantastic day ,My daughter in law Chrissie went to collect Connie who at 83 ,came just for the afternoon ,she came with her picnic in her Harrods bag ,announcing she had a presentation to make ….many years ago ,in the early 1970’s a lady gave me a cup and saucer, Connie had admired the cup and said you must be careful with that ,don’t let your children break it ! So I gave it to her, to look after for me until my children had grown up! Well she gave it back to me, with a slip of paper inside that said ‘Staffordshire 1840’, she had checked up on it for me,

So there we are the first part of my catch up entrys,I will be back soon with more ...as ever love from

Thankyou to Donna for todays Graphicsxx

How wonderful that that many could get together.  I have a hard time with getting only mine together.  I'm sure you all had a grand time.  I loved seeing you and your family.  The cardigan is beautiful.  You have been very busy.  Glad you made time for an entry to keep us all updated on what's happening with you.

I think we all go through a writer's block sort of thing.  It so exciting at first but then life gets in the way, which is proably a good thing.  Love your cardigan!  Such talent you have.  Glad you got out and enjoyed some sunshine.  It's been pretty soggy here where I'm at.  Love xx Chris

Know what you mean about how much you can get done if you don't go on the computer!  I try really hard to stay off it, as I seem to spend hours on it, even though I only intend to check my emails.  I have been having a jolly good clearout of my house (preparing to redecorate the upstairs and having it all re-carpeted) but got involved with clearing out my garden shed as son & DiL wanted me to store some things for them temporarily - and this clearing out has been an enormous job.  I will try and do a blog about it although a bit late in the day now for before and after photos!
It must have been lovely getting together with so many members of your family, glad your day didn't get rained off - and haven't we had some rain here!

Tut tut indeed! Lol! It is amazing what you can get done when you don't put the computer on isn't it? I found that out when mine crashed for three weeks! I'm glad you had the party in the park before the summer deluge and cold set in! It looks like you all had a great time. That was nice of Connie to give the cup back and look up it's history. There you are !!  Well, it's good to know you've been having fun and not just laying around eating chocolates.  I've had computer problems  too...mines in the computer hospital. Thankfully I have this old rikety laptop that I've hooked up to the DSL.  Thanks for sharing the pictures...Linda in sunny & hot Washington

So good to hear from you Jan and that you are still working on your quillow!  You will have to show it to us when you are done!  I loved seeing all the photos of the family get-together.  It looks you all had a marvelous time!  I miss those types of things over here as I don't really have any family here, but it's nice when I do go home to Canada  and we have them then.  Love the pretty colour of your cardigan.  It's been a long time since I have knitted anything for myself.  I just don't have the time anymore.  There's not enough hours in my days!  I hope that you will not make us wait as long to hear from you again!!
love,
Marie

Jan, it's always a pleasure to see your name amongst my alerts! :)  You are nearly as bad at me at updating! lol

Loved the pictures of your family gathering!  I wish I could get my family together for something like that, but they are so scattered round the US, I don't think anyone would come.. <sigh>

I kept trying to identify what people were eating in that one picture, I believe it was #10.  I just could NOT identify what was on their plates! lol  It's driving me nuts!

I'm happy to hear that you are keeping yourself active!  The cardigan you made is absolutely beautiful!

Please take care of yourself, Jan, and come back when you have a moment!

Hello, friend!  Your cardigan sweater is beautiful!  I love the color!  Have you managed to start your handbag yet?  I haven't been sewing at all since Dennis has been down with his injuries.  He's bouncing back and I think I'll have time to sew late this week or next week for sure.

Hope you are doing GREAT!
