Digby and other things ,

Thankyou for this lovely Graphic Donna ....

Now where shall I start?  Erm ….last Monday, after an abysmal weekend, weather wise, the day dawned bright and fine, My Daughter in law Chrissie rang to see if I would like to join her and Mark (my son) and Kate, for a trip into St Ives, (Cambs) there is a market there each Monday, but on a bank holiday ,it is really big ,many more stalls ,although we all agreed there weren’t as many due to the stall holders having to travel and the weather had been awful ,Didn’t buy much ,some slippers and Val Mcdermid book I hadn’t read ,after we had wandered about a while , it began to turn cold so as we made our way back to the car ,We saw this lady pushing this dear old dog, in baby buggy, all wrapped up in a blanket ,we stopped and spoke to her ,she said his name is Digby and he is seventeen years old , and had recently had some teeth out ,so to cheer him up ,she was taking him for a walk …..

Today at the minute it is bright and sunny, though the weather has been practising for April showers.

On Monday we are going to Warwick, to the funeral, of my Brother in law, John, late husband Mick’s brother ,who has been fighting cancer for over a year ,he had a leg amputated last March , but sadly lost the fight last week ,He was special ,he gave Kate away when she got married ,she went to see him at the hospice  just before he died , and shared some precious time with him .So that is two Brothers in law we have lost in five months .

I spoke with Kath (Astoria sands) last evening ,she has moved now ,and has been quite poorly ,but sends her love to you all ,and hopes to be back on line by the middle of next week ,which pleases me, as I have missed her ,as I know you all have .

I have fallen behind with my comments so if you haven’t heard from me,’you will ‘

So for now I will close and as always love from

Thanks for the news of Kath...I've been wondering.  Hope she feels better soon and is back on line with us.  I love the market place and the flowers.  How cute that the old timer got a ride in the buggy.  Some people are so thoughtful.  Too bad more arent'.  We have a few sprinkles here today and mostly cloudy and dark but with the showers come May flowers they say.  'On Ya' - ma

It's too bad the lousy weather put a damper on your day out!  Thanks so much for the update on Kath!  I have been so worried about her and wondered what was going on!  I am sorry to hear she has been poorly.  I would send her a card or letter to cheer her up, but alas, I only have her old address.  I guess I will have to wait for her to give me her new one.  When you do speak to her again, please give her my love, best wishes and prayers!  Thanks!

Bittersweet entry, Jan.  So sorry to hear about your loss, a link to your Mick.  And news of Kath being in poor health, but perhaps back with us soon.
I am ridiculously sentimental about animals, and the photo of Digby made me swallow rather hard!
All in all though, a lovely day out.  A market, and lunch in a cosy pub would suit me down to the ground just now.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi Jan, When I saw the picture of Digby...it reminded me of several older ladies that live here in the mobile home park that do the same thing.  One lady has two little dogs in the baby carriage she pushes.  I imagine they are older dogs too and these ladies are just taking them out for a breath of fresh air.   Sorry to hear about the passing of your brother in law. Someday, maybe someone, somewhere will find a cure for that awful disease.  Take care...Linda in Washington state

We only have a market twice a month...Last saturday and 1st saturday...Bit daft if you ask me having them one weekend after the other then nowt for 2 or 3 weeks...There is a woman has a stall at it that already sells jewellery...One person i saw at that craft fair recently she only gets a stall leading up to Christmas...May be worth a go then for me...Had to smile at Digby in his buggy :o) Sorry to hear about your loss :o(   Caff xxxxxx

I'm always behind in my comments. LOL. So sorry about the death. It's always so sad. Well it's snowing in IL. right now. Where did spring go. Geesh I hate this weather. That was nice to join your dil and son shopping. How sad about the dog in the baby carriage but that was so sweet that the owner took him outside for a walk or ride. LOL

Haven't been to the Easter Monday Market in years, it is usually so big and crowded - no where to park, you were very brave as it was so cold.
So sorry to hear about your BiL Jan, so sad when you lose someone dear.
I think Digby is looking very sorry for himself - ah bless!

Love to Kath, wondered where she'd got to!

Always a pleausre to hear from you Jan!  So sorry to hear about your BIL... I know it sounds cliche', but it's true... when they are that ill, they really are in a better place when they pass.  We do miss them terribly, but I would rather miss someone than to see them suffer with pain, as I am sure you would too.

The dog in the stroller?  How cute is that!  He looks like scruffy old English gentleman sitting in that carriage! lol

Hugs and love

Just catching up on Journals, as I've had Mike at home with me this week, so not much computer time for me!!

Bless dear old Digby, what a cutie. The weather has put a dampener on everything but yesterday afternoon here was beautiful. Amazing how a few hours sun lifts your spirits.

Have a good weekend.
