Its Thundering and Lightening !

Well as the pictures I took last evening at twilight , promised a nice day''Red sky at night shepherds delight ',....thats blown that theory out of the water ! Suppose it meant the shepherds hut was on fire ....

More good news to cheer you up ,today is St Swithens and you know what that means ....

“St Swithin’s Day, if it does rain
Full forty days, it will remain
St Swithin’s Day, if it be fair
For forty days, t’will rain no more''

and as I sit here typing away ,its spitting with rain  ,I dont know about you ,but Im heartily sick of this weather ,when are we going to have some summer ?Any way to cover all eventualitys ,as you can see I have got the Ark ready !
We are having a quiet Sunday ,Maurice is here watching the racing from Doddington, and Im ..well you know what Im doing ,Stuart and Vickie came over earlier, with dsome pictures of their honeymoon ,Iscanned some and will post them soon ,but not now as its thunder and lightening now ,and if Idont finish this soon Icould lose the entry if the power goes ,so have a blessed Sunday every one with love

We had glorious red skies here last night as well.  Shows you what rubbish that is because of the torrential rain and storm this morning.  Yes, I mentioned St. Swithin as well.  Wonder who thought that one up.
P.S.  I have not started cleaning out the drawers yet, save that for tomorrow.

Wow the sky looked beautiful!! I'm sorry your having so much rain. I cannot imagine thunder and lightening at this time of year. July here in CA is just...HOT!
Dry and hot!  Hope you have a good day today.
BTW...I haven't read any Kizzy stories. Is she ok?

Weather is absolute pants here! Just hope I don't have to go wading again as we had just moved the chickens back onto the level.

Catherine tells me its so hot were she lives in Germany she is wearing a bikini around the house. She'll be sorry, she's moving over here to live next week, just hope she brings her webbed feet!

Hi Jan, As I`ve just said on Jeannette`s journal, it hasn`t rained properly at all. It is very hot and humid and the thunder has been rumbling on and off all day. Hopefully St.Swithin`s day will stay dry all day here. :o)

PS:  We had skies like that last night too. It must have been the storm clouds gathering. :o(

I had so hoped you'd get some sunshine today.  I pray you don't have 40 days more...you all will need that ark for sure.  We are so the complete opposite here.  Hot and dry.  What few little showers we've gotten haven't begun to make a dent in the amount we need.  Guess you all will be making your own 'sunshine ' for sure.  Take good care !  'On Ya' - ma

We had that sky here as well last night, it was lovely!!! You should have popped down to good old Burton Latimer for the Duck Race today, the band were playing and we had a good afternoon....... plus the rain held off till just before it was due to finish at 5pm, it sort of skirted round us but then it chucked it down; plus the thunder rumbled in the distance but never came our way!!! The sun is out now so will it stay that way for the next few days or will the St.Swithin thing come true???

Guess what's been on the telly here this afternoon? With the racket of Doddington in the background, plus continuous claps of thunder, it's not exactly been the quietest of Sundays. Here's hoping the weathermen are wrong and the sun shines both sides of the hedges tomorrow. Take care.
Love & hugs......Sylvia xx

Amazing sky; something dramatic brewing for sure.  We're supposed to get our share tomorrow (Tuesday).  Our electricity is always knocked out in a thunderstorm, so that means no water, because the pump won't work !  Ha Ha.

Hi Jan, The photos of the sky are amazing, they remind me of the sunsets in Norfolk.  We always spend a couple of weeks there in August, I love it, but I hope it stops raining before we go!

That was a lovely sky, Jan, but I sure hope the rain has stopped finally.  We had lovely warm weather until a week ago.  Now, the northern states has turned cold and wet.  Yuck.  I love a nice hot summer.  Hope you have a nice Sunday.   Love xx Chris

I wish there were a way to push some of that rain from there to here.  We are having the driest year on record.  We've had less than 2" of rain all season.  It's  bad!  Hope your home and property isn't in danger.
Hugs, Kathy
